Lydia - that is the reason my chart isn't complete. Too many ????? I struggle because I start out my day really well, but then sabotage it in the evening.
This morning I tried to sleep in - but 7am (which is an hour after I normally get up) I was wide awake.
DH and I are going to do some biking today and do all our errands on bike. That will give me plenty of exercise. He actually offered to go running with me - which was a shock! He prefers biking. I asked him why and he said that perhaps with the colder weather, he could run, since soon he won't be able to bike.
I decided to also weigh myself and take my body fat. My scale shows that, but I am sure it isn't totally accurate. However, I know my body fat is really high. So, I would like to concentrate on bringing that down. I should have a body fat of 25-31% and mine is 39%. My weight today was 181. So, these are my reference points, and I will be back to do my chart TODAY. Breakfast is already logged.

There are too many question marks on my streak!!! And the sad thing is even though I didn't get all my food tracked for those days I know I was over my allotted calories for the day. :-( Anyways, I think I had more good days than my first streak, so that means I'm improving. I hope to do EVEN better the next streak even with thanksgiving! :-)

Tomorrow Greg and I are doing another photo shoot in good old Chicago for our Christmas cards!! The outfits are picked out and ready to go! I can't wait to see how everything turns out! I hope you all have a great weekend!

Yesterday I thought I would end the day doing well on my calories. Then, :-) my husband came home and requested brownies. :-) So, being a good wife I made some and of course ;-) ate some, too many! Oh well, being a good wife is better than losing weight, right? emoticon

Lydia - your BOO HOO would be my emoticon - but I will get there.

My DH had chest pain this morning. He was going to go to his Dr. but I told him to go straight to the hospital. They don't have what he would need at his Dr. anyway. He called to say that they did blood work and an EKG and are waiting for results. He said the chest pain is now gone. I am so thankful that he is getting it checked out none the less. I was going to take him, but he said he woudl go alone.

Hello everyone!!! I hope you are all having a great Monday and a great start to another week! :-)

Lee- so good to see you on the team, I look forward to seeing you here on the team and getting to know you better. :-)

Oma- I had forgotten how busy you said you were going to be!!! :-) I hope you had a grand time with all your guests and family! And congratulations on the new grandbaby!!! I think that is a wonderful reason to not check in. ;-) It is so hard to get to spark and all the tracking and teams when you're busy! I never get to spark on the weekends, with Saturday being my one full day with my husband, church, ministry and youth group work I don't even try to get to spark. I use to, put the app on my phone and put it where I thought it would remind me and I still didn't spark so I don't even push or stress myself about it anymore. I figure husbands, church and my teenagers (youth group I work with) are more important! :-) Plus I should have enough character to control my eating without having to spark it all. emoticon I hope you have a great week!

Yesterday was another great Sunday! I absolutely LOVE sundays and my church!! My husband and I both work in the youth department and teach highschoolers. I LOVE teenagers!! I've been doing a series on God's Fashion show and teaching what God thinks is a fashionable lady from Proverbs 31, yesterday was our last week. I have loved this series and will miss it! To end the series in class I gave all my girls a nail polish with a print up/bookmark with all the points with their verses. They are such great girls and I love them so much and hope to see them all go and do great things with their lives!!! :-)

Hello everyone - after a busy summer and fall and a word of encouragement from my good friend OMA, I am ready to get back on track. Beginning tomorrow I will track my steps and calories - I also have added a link on my page to my fitness and nutrition trackers to help keep me accountable.

This week wasn't perfect, but I do feel it has been successful. :-) I feel better about myself and I've lost some of the bloated weight I gained last streak. We'll see what happens after next week! :-) Then, the first week of streak 3 will be thanksgiving week! Yesterday I thought I had done better with my calories but that number doesn't look so good! But I feel that I ate better yesterday even though I went over (WAY OVER) my calories. Plus I made a batch of banana bread! Such a great treat on a cold rainy day :-) and of course I did "treat" myself to 2 pieces!!! Anyways, I did better today! I would love to get those calories a lot closer to the range! :-)

As embarrassing as it was and hard to record for the "world" to see I put all my calories last streak! It was very tempting at times to just put ?? even when I knew how many calories I had eaten but was embarrassed by my lack of self control!!!! I'm too busy weekends to even get on spark so I don't track anything saturdays and sundays but this past weekend, even without tracking I knew I did horrible!!! And this morning when I got on the scale all my fears were verified! :-( One of my biggest downfalls from this weekend was I baked a TON of cookies for my husband and my Sunday School classes. And OF COURSE I had to sample and help eat the cookies! :-/ Anyways, I really, really, REALLY hope and PLAN to do better this week!!! :-)

Martha, Lydia, Hillary and Oma - I'm sorry for the sickness and computer issues and various other things that you have been facing...but, I'm so proud of you for your tenacity and staying in it in spite of these challenges. Each day holds it's share of challenges to work through and obstacles to overcome! In my food journal, I've been writing down each days major challenge - and either what I did RIGHT to overcome it, or, if it got me - I write down what I COULD have done better as food for thought for the next time! It's helping me to be aware of circumstances and to THINK what I want to write down at the end of the day...did I think of a smart way to overcome or did I give in or give up?

One of the major challenges we are all facing in the coming 2 months is the holidays! Stay strong with the things you know you can do - like drinking your water, and some daily exercise. It will be harder to manage calories with parties and special meals or potlucks, but we can at least look for ways to reduce our portion sizes and stick to just one sweet or treat at each event rather than just letting it go. Let's stick together and make something of these holiday months! We'll do so much better if we stick together here and stay aware of what we are doing and encourage each other to win!

As you all know, I really don't advocate starting streaks over and over again...because by doing so, we never get anywhere...but, I really feel I need to begin again - last month was just so screwed up with my FIL's death, the trip to MN and then the following weekend's trip to TN for a birthday weekend, my hubby's b'day was mixed into the month as well, etc, etc....I think now, I'm ready for a fresh start...the bathroom building project is finished, the wedding is over, the funeral is over and I'm ready to get back to it seriously!

I have not been doing good with eating my allotted calories! :-( I need to do something different but I seem to cave in every day! Today I am not feeling too well, so I end up pushing myself to exercise because I was determined to get the 1000 minutes of exercise trophy and then I spend the rest of the day lying around feeling achy, icky :-) and eating! URRGG! I get so frustrated with myself!

I've been feeling under the weather since last Thursday. I took zinc cold remedy tablets for the first 2 days and I believed it help lessen the severity of my symptoms; sore throat, stuffy nose, headache. Despite being sick I feel I did good while we away for the weekend. I made sure to track everything I ate. On Friday, I walked Hank for a total of 51 minutes and 2.59 miles. Saturday we did 36 minutes and 1.85 miles and on Sunday, 46 minutes and 2.49 miles. I even did 10 minutes of strength training on Sunday! I just wish the weather would have been a little warmer because it was COLD! Since returning home on Sunday I haven't done very good. No exercise and my eating has been awful. I'm trying to turn this around. I've been brainstorming how to get myself motivated again. I think I will start taking pictures of everything I eat and posting it on tumblr again. Yesterday was a rather strange day. First of all, my challenge was a homemade cheesecake someone brought in to work...I took a tiny bit of it both in the morning and the afternoon with my cup of coffee. Not a lot either time, mind you, but, with cheesecake, it doesn't take much to rack up the calories, sugar or fat! I will say I should have been stronger, and done better, but it's funny to me that in thinking back on the situation, I didn't THINK much at all...as though in my head, THINKing about it would bring me to a conclusion I didn't want to hear - that I shouldn't have it at all! I have GOT to learn to think FIRST, not after the deed has been done!

In the afternoon, my insides seemed to turn to liquid, and for the rest of the day, I didn't feel very good - could it have been the cheesecake? I'm not sure, but in a strange sort of way, I was happy to be 'cleaning out' and getting rid of it, and perhaps, some of the other garbage I had eaten during the past 6 weeks of wedding, cropping, a funeral, a birthday celebration and two very long trips! After just 5 days of getting back on track here, I am down three pounds now, and I'm feeling less bloated and more like myself again. Getting on the scale is a joy once again, and I'm finding, as in the past, that filling out my little chart here works when I do it!

I love Pinterest, too! I got several really good ideas off that site for my son's rehearsal dinner.

I had another really good day yesterday - getting in all my water, F/V and even took a 30 minute walk with my shoes ON the injured toe - which felt better yesterday than I expected it would!! I think we know in our hearts when we've done it right when you wake up and WANT to get on the scale instead of dreading it! So far this week, I have dropped two of the pounds I gained over all the travels. I was up to 183. 5 and this morning it was 181.5, so I'm excited about that! And, I haven't counted any calories, either, I've just following the 5 'principles' (plus working on the water, F/V, and exercise - those three keep me busy all day). My husband even invited me along to a dinner with co-workers at the Chinese Buffet, but I said 'no, thank you' knowing it would mean at least 1000 calories and lots of salt. I was sure tempted, but this morning, I'm glad I declined!

I actually got the idea off from Pinterest! I love that website!

Yesterday's workout did not happen. I came home cleaned up the house made myself something to eat and then lost all motivation! I have the next 3 days off from work and we will be going to stay with my grandma this weekend. That means I will have to walk Hank when he needs to go outside. I am going to use my MapMyWalk app on my iphone to track our walks. My goal is at least an hour and 2 miles each day.

Hillary, I love your idea of a tip jar! :-) I may "steal" that idea and each day I eat my allotted calories I'll add a dollar. :-) Eating the right amount is my weakness so maybe this little trick will be an extra motivation, especially if I see the jar sitting there empty! emoticon

CRUISEPUPPY- I am hoping this round to be faithful to it and not have to restart. Seeing my calories and cardio all next to each other is making me more aware of why I'm not seeing results. :-) I would like to get back to the weight I was when I got married. I'd have to say my main goal overall with spark and losing weight is to teach myself better portion control and character.
On another note, I understand about not having time to scrapbook, especially the traditional way! When I do get to, I end up having mountains of paper, scissors, stickers, paper cutters, stamps, glue, tape and so on EVERYWHERE! :-) My husband made a nice closet place for me to keep everything organized but when I scrapbook I have to pull it all out! I still have lots of pictures filed that I need to scrapbook. I like digital because I can do it more here and there when I have time. Also I can just upload all my picture right into the program and anywhere I have internet and a laptop I can work on a book. I also have found doing 8x8's are really nice for one time events. I like to make them for activities we have at church. They are also small and easy to carry around to take and show people. :-) So, maybe someday when you have a few extra seconds you can check it out! :-)

Lydia - OK...a frest start! How much are you trying to lose? Whatever it is, I KNOW you can do it!

Yesterday was a very good day food-wise. I made good choices and had healthy foods all day long. I had a little accident at work-I dropped a big shredding bin on my foot and sliced a chuck off the end of my big toe that was very painful, so sadly, I didn't get in any exercise yesterday. It may be a few days before I can get my sore toe into a pair of tennis shoes. Agh!

Thanks CP! I'm happy to be back and working towards my goals! I need to work on making exercise more consistent. A month or so back I made a "Fitness Tip" jar. Everyday that I work out I get to put $1 in the jar. As of last week I have more than $30 in the jar! I took $20 on Saturday to buy myself a new shirt. Now I need to work on getting more money in that jar! I am making it a priority to workout first thing after work today. No letting laziness get the better of me! I've already planned ahead for my snacks and dinner. Now I just need to stick with it!

Hillary - it's so great to have you back and back on track again! Put the weekend behind you and move forward - congrats on seeing a new lower number!

Martha - your chart shows you are doing well - watching your food, lots of water and lots of exercise minutes - good for you -keep up the good work!

Oma - 25 mile bike ride?? That's amazing! PS... I hate Goldfish, too..haha...but, I remember eating them sometimes in the church nursery when I'd give them to the little ones at snack time - thinking the same thing, WHY am I eating these - I don't even LIKE them! I think that is sometimes how knowing we will have to give an account of ourselves here is good...it makes us stop and think about things, and being aware is half the battle! I like how you are thinking in advance of alternatives for your late night snack attacks. Don't forget fruit and/or nuts, too! I've been making a little evening snack out of some sliced banana's, berries, a few chopped pecans and a dollup of vanilla yoghurt on top. It's very pretty, tasty and gives me an extra fruit for the day...and, it makes me feel like I've splurged on myself a little...in a very GOOD way!

We made our quick trip to TN this weekend - a six hour drive each way - left on Saturday, back on Sunday. After our 27 hr drive to MN the week before, I am TIRED of driving, and being off schedule completely! The surprise 80th b'day party for my son's MIL was wonderful! Now home again and back on track - I'm determined to give this streak my all in the coming months!

My weekend: too much salt, too many calories, not enough water, not enough exercise. I did attempt to keep track all weekend but wasn't as accurate as I am during the week. I did finally see 203.6 on the scale though. Today I got a quick workout in before work, I will drink plenty of water, watch the sodium and keep calories low.

After church today my DH and I and another couple went on a 25 mile bike ride. We did stop at a tiny (5 tables) resturaunt. The food was good. I could only guess with the calories - it was around 800+ But I did burn 1200 biking so I don't feel bad for going over. Okay, time for my chart.

I know what you mean; I, too, have fallen prey to the eat stuff you don't even like syndrome. Can I call it a syndrome? Everything else is these days. I am worse at eating in the late morning and afternoons when I am hungry and I am in or through the kitchen often. I hope you can come back soon. I miss you on here.
