I was born in Kansas, and live in Texas. How did these 2 wonderful states get so many things wrong? It's voting time again in Texas, with impossible odds of electing someone with a brain.

Another subject: People from Mexico are no longer coming here to work, cause things are better in Mexico. The "Berlin" wall we want to finish building will keep us in instead of keeping them out.

I don't get it either......in what world does someone think that a 100 round magazine saves more lives because it "might" jam and rebukes restrictions because re-loading a 15 round magazine 4, 5 or 6 times could do so much more damage?

REALLY?

YOU CAN'T SHOOT A GUN WHILE YOU ARE RE-LOADING IT! SO, THAT'S 4, 5, or 6 MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO STOP A GUNMAN.

Sorry for shouting.

A word to the wise ain't necessary, it's the stupid ones who need the advice.

Seriously messed up. It just seems like things are going seriously down hill, granted, maybe they already were like this and we just didn't know, but come ON...how can people think the high magazine capacity of someone shooting a movie theatre up is a good thing, people died for F*&^ sake!! And I still can't believe NOTHING has happened since the Sandy Hook stuff, if we can't get it together after small children died for no reason, then really, it makes me lose faith in humanity.

Sometimes I feel like I'm lost in the Twilight Zone. When did Americans reach the point where anyone different from them has become the enemy? It seems society is devolving. Anger and apathy seem to rule the day. Or at least get the most attention.

I know that most American's aren't that way but the media could make you think we are.

I'm weaning myself off news as much as possible. It's not that I don't want to be informed it's that the negativity that is pervasive is harmful to your health. I hadn't realized just how much news I was watching, reading and listening to.

I read somewhere that "the news is just filler to get you to stick around and watch the commercials." They have to keep you tuned in so they get you wrapped up in the drama then here comes relief in the form of light-hearted commercials selling you something that 40 yrs ago you never thought about needing. A form of brain-washing.

You should see the obnoxious campaign commercials going on in Texas. If I didn't have a brain I too would believe Obama to be the anti-Christ and Hitler.

I know I've gone off on a tangent, sorry.

We were working hard to stop that crud in Kansas..I'm not from Kansas, but feminist and civil rights groups I belong to blitzed the politicians heavily. So glad it's working! the guns? WTF indeed. No, you may not shoot people for sport in movie theaters, or because you don't like their music, or their color, or their gender, or their religion, or the cut of their jib. In fact, you may not shoot people except in self defense. What in the world is happening to our country?

-loud-music-trial/

Michael Dunn shoots and kills an unarmed teenager in a parking lot for playing music too loud, and the best Florida can do is convict him of "attempted murder" for the three shots he fired into the SUV as it drove away.

At least on the standing convictions, he probably won't see freedom again. But how does loud music make a person "reasonably" fear for their lives.

Oh yeah, the teens were Black -- that makes it OK. Son of a...

Don't like gay people, it's your right to refuse them service - including emergency medical care, law enforcement, fire fighting. Whatever...

Fortunately, this bill didn't slip beneath the radar as so many state proposals are known to do. The opposition has made enough waves that the bill is now likely to be shelved and never even come to a Senate vote. But the very fact that it came out demonstrates how much of an uphill battle simple equality is.

Finally, my home state (Sorry. I didn't elect the guy.)

State senator Bernie Herpin tells a legislative hearing, including the father of Aurora theater victim Alex Sullivan's father, that it was a "good thing" the James Holmes had a 100 round magazine for his assault rifle.

Seriously? WTF, people?

Sometimes I just want to stop the planet and get off. I don't want to share oxygen with these people.
