1/1/2019...Hope some new leadership will get this Team challenged and encouraged to achieve your goals. It is taught that we don’t organize our thoughts until we say them or write them. I wrote my way to goal weight in 2005. Yes, outlining Menus, scheduling structured work out times, keeping my favorite water handy and enjoying the contact with others on Sparkpeople kept me from being bored and deprived.

Heard from Coach Jen and in fact their were some issues with the New Member classes but the problem has been resolved.

Also I am considering re-joining the other Team for short people. Post some WIDRT messages and members, if they like them will visit my Sparkpage and see PETITE PLACE as a resource. I’m not trying to pirate or steal members ...actually many of you belong to both Teams as well.

The main objective is to get 8 to 12 members to share their victories and stuff they are working on. According to Pastor Rick Warren, when he writes about small groups, when size is more than 12 members, some people feel left out.

I’ll keep you informed.

So I signed us up for a couple New Member classes. Our Team should get featured week after next. I’ve FINALLY got all the numbers crunched for 2017 at the Office. Why did I ever think it was so wonderful to be Treasurer of our Company?

My weight has been crazy good. 110 to 111. Not seen since 2002? Have 2 pair of pants that fit. Stack of too big tops to donate. Scavenged up some underwear from forever ago and they fit. I’ve been afraid to invest in smaller sizes because this scene is so bizarre. Yes, I got checked out by my DOC and major lab testing and health is fine.

So I’m rolling with it!

Maybe a technical malfunction but the new member team didn’t seem to have many recruits? In the past somewhere between 10,000 and 40,000 jumped on Sparkpeople.this year only a bit over 1,000. I joined the Jan 7th-13 and see if any improved action.

My request for Featured Team is still in the “Que” so should bounce out there in a week or 2.

I am off to Florida tomorrow. My daughter needs me to handle things while she is at bedside of her husband with surgery from a fall off a ladder. Needless to say...packing and the “get ready” has been challenging.

Humpty is all patched up and posted. Had planned to lay around all weekend but that action in off the table.

Humpty Dumpty is still in FIRST PLACE for my time - but I did want to check in and post a "blog" that I used as an "Opener" on my regular Team.

Also wanted to catch up with those of you who post and see any results from Thanksgiving and past couple weeks.

I did stop by the New Member Class of the week to ask permission to barge in with my INVITE to Petite Place. This is still a very slow time for folks to join anything related to modify their Menu!

However, when I was at the grocery saw tons of shelves stocked with Weight Loss promised food products, capsules, jars, boxes, packages of diet temptations!

So somebody has the action on their minds!

DOC visit went so well!!! Got my lab results and the Scorecard made me very happy, happy! She suggested a few things and I put into place immediately. Feel even more energy and enthusiasm.

I'll keep you posted on any action from the new member Team - also I am thinking of sending around a TEAM memo (forget the exact name it is called) to remind past members that we are still here and willing to offer tips and suggestions. Along with praise and encouragement!

I was struggling over the weekend. I had company from out of town so I felt compelled to cook bigger meals that were not as diet friendly but in proper proportions weren't all that bad...lasagna, beef stew, and a slow cooker pork chop dish with rice. but it was the snacking on Sunday while watching CFL semi finals that took me over the edge but I'm back and did some good eating today and I also bought a gym membership! Yay! So now that it is winter and too cold to go walking in the Saskatchewan weather, I can go to the gym!

CHERIE and JEANNE...

I do see why so many Sparkers step away from weight management...especially this week!

Reading about people food shopping, washing up their fancy dinnerware, pre-making side dishes, baking pies and planning entertainment for kids, getting home ready for overnight guests, etc. Way too much going on.

For us, we abandoned the extra people. We will have Micah (Jim’s son) who is special needs and Mamsan. Will make turkey and sides and then have to fix up their plates, cut meat and veggies, distribute medications and hopefully have a hot meal ourselves?

I’m still working on trying to put Humpty Dumpty Accounting program back together!

I may try to get an invitation out to the SparkClass of Nov 19-26...

THANKS GUYZ for posting!

No whining here!!! However, my Accounting Software crashed. I have to re-post/record EVERYTHING from 12/16 until October 2017! 300 checks and Billings to clients advertising projects...about 50. Plus tax implications and projections.

I will not be able to stay involved with Sparkpeople day to day. I’ve coordinated with Coach Jen and want very much to have us a featured team in late December. So instead of 1800 new prospects it will be around 40,000!

So hang in here. I’m not going to step away from Leadership. I have done that twice and the Team fell apart. So many of you have stayed connected and always seeking out ideas and information for the shorter person to manage their weight.

I know some books/articles are going to released that will advance our progress.

Whatever tips and tricks have helped you, hopefully you will continue to share with everyone.

Listen! We have the Holidays just around the corner. PHOTOSHOOTS and memories are going to be paramount! At the same time we want to be in full enjoyment of all meals, events and gatherings. There has to be a way to combine fun foods and containment of over-consumption?

So far this month, I've been on the right track!! Yay! This morning I weighed myself and I'm actually below my monthly goal, but for some reason my scale didn't sync with Fitbit so I guess I'll just have to make sure I'm still down tomorrow and make sure it syncs before I step off! lol for proof! For me it's like quitting smoking, which I did about 20 yrs ago, cold turkey, stay on top of it. I have a terrible sweet tooth and LOVE chocolate. One hershey's kiss could end all the hard work I've done...

Tonight we didn't have supper til 7pm...I think my whole day gets shifted a couple hours compared to most people. I also had my snack at 11:30pm but I don't usually go to bed til about 1am

CHERIE....I took a piece of cardboard and made a tent sign to place on kitchen counter after I finished dinner clean up duty:

My husband laughed at it all month but it did indeed help me stay on target.

I looked at the list of suggestions and approve all. This was a track that was part of the eDIETS program a few years ago.

I’m investigating some recipes for tapas type dishes. Husband likes variety and I no longer cook all that much.

Happy November! WIDRT: Started off the month on the right foot so far...although it is only 10am! lol I did binge on the candy and tried desparately to give it all away...woke up to snow this morning so I guess part of my exercise for this week will be to find my snow shovel and use it!! I am doing a challenge with another team. Here it is...just in case anyone else wants to join.

WooHoo! Here I go!

1) 2% weight loss. (cw- 127.9lbs gw- 125.3lbs)

2) Drink minimum of 8 glasses of water a day. (This should not be too hard, just need to make a conscious effort.)

3) Exercise at least 4 hours a week. (Well, shoveling snow will be the first hour!! lol)

4) No sugary drinks. (I try to never drink my calories but I'm not giving up my coffee but I use Splenda...)

5) No food after 7:00 pm. (This will be the toughest one for me because I work evenings and my supper break is at 5:30... I usually take my afternoon snack and move it to when I come home from work...at 11pm...)

6) Weigh in weekly and post results here. (With Fitbit Aria I weigh in daily but will make a point of posting it here.)

Alright November! Let's do it!

JEANNE...I am supposed to stay away from caffeine as well. But have been enjoying a cup between 1 and 2PM to keep my energy going. I found a great decaf made by Erie Islands Coffee. It is fabulous. Running a close 2nd is McDonalds...which I can get at my grocer.

WIDRT...Finally got around to inviting SP CLASS of Oct 21st thru 28 to our Team. Know it is late in the system but have tried early in class inception and didn’t get to contact everyone as maybe they bailed out or found other Teams to join.

Dinner was supposed to be tacos but Action Man was having digestive issues so abandoned until tomorrow. I had leftover high protein angel hair pasta mixed with artichoke hearts and Marinara from Local Italian bottler.

Crisp is how I would describe our weather.

Today I didn't have any caffeine ALTHOUGH tempted. My sweet dil brought decaf nespresso for me to our family cabin. Also I took 3 walks, two short ones with the grandkids and the dog, one down to the river and back. Beautiful. I am going to try and put some pictures on tomorrow.

BRONCO!!! Welcome back to Petite Place...I think you were a part of this team before?

JEANNE...sorry I haven’t been around of late. To be honest I got caught up with Cleveland Indians baseball and have tried to view every game especially towards the end of the season. They played 161 games and think I only missed about 20! Too crazy! See that is what semi-retirement does to a gal!

I wrote a recap of my efforts on the Oops Slipped Up Topic. Hopefully this weekend I’ll restart the invites to new Sparkers over again.

I know the balance of 2017 will be slow going for membership and then all heck breaks loose. Sheeple. Why put off the study of how to manage weight? Even a limited success before the Hoildays will make you feel better!

My red dress is already hanging as a reminder to manage my resources.

I ate light most of the day because I knew I was going to a birthday party later. I stayed within my calorie limits.
I did my abs exercises today.

Meals of the day:

Scrambled egg whites
Corinth grapes...those little tiny ones!!! Yum

Canadian maple turkey shaved...skipped the bread
Activia yogurt -lactose free! Love it!

Whitefish salad with flatbread...gluten free Everything...love these even tho I'm not afflicted with celiac disease
1/4 banana

2 vegetarian egg rolls from Giant Eagle prepared foods.

Did have a splurge....tiny slice of nut bread thingy...details next time.

Worked out lower body. Tomorrow upper with weights. With any kind of luck!!!

JEANNE - you nailed it on brushing teeth after dinner! Actually I know 2 Goal Achievers who put that protocol into place. This was on a HUGE team and they were Petites!

Honestly I believe we of the shorter stature have to be more creative than regular folks.

Welcome Jill!
What I did right today: I prayed when upset INSTEAD of buying an ice cream cone or getting a frosty junior. I drank 2 glasses of water on the way home. I went to the grocery store and snacked on an apple after loading the car.
Before dinner I had 5 baby carrots, and a low cal mozzarella cheese stick.
For dinner I made low cal sugar free ice cream in our ice cream maker.
I have brushed my teeth and AM NOT going to eat anything else tonight.

Copied down Jeanne's referral to Natalie Hudson! I will check out! Loved the "caution" on planks. For me, I have injured myself a couple times this past year. Hamstring pull using a Core Reformer which is like high powered stretch bands linked together. Then hurt my knee walking a tough trail at Beartown Lake Trail.

My Menu today has been limited. Got up at 6:45 to hit the grocery store! Came back home and relieved Jim from duty as caregiver to Mamsan. Had 1/2 banana, 1/2 quiche that was low cal and low flavor! 1/2 blueberry waffle...no syrup....and slightly burnt!

Some days are like that!
