Today I felt sleepy and was going to snack on popcorn. Instead I had a nap.
When I woke up, I had the popcorn and herbal tea. Fortunately my fitbit reminded me to move, otherwise I would have finished the bag. I think I ate 3 out of 4 portions. Still a win because I treated myself to a nap instead of using food to muscle past the sleepiness

Great job! I have cut out almost all of my useless snacking. I am trying to snack on fruit or protein only.

I left early for work. I struggled to avoid eating while driving. I kept telling myself that I would eat when I got to work. I am proud that I didn't eat while driving and I arrived early and ate lunch before my shift. Unfortunately, I ate my snacks as soon as I started working...

Great job. I quite snacking on useless food for a week and then backslide for an unknown reason. Why do I do that?

Good Laura!!! The little things add up, like a bite here and a sip there. I have a terrible habit if giving myself permission to eat things I do not need. I have fought hard to get back to being in control. It has only been two full days, but I feel so much better when I am in charge and not the fork!!

Go me! I didn't have any candy today.
I had been doing well with my no candy streak, and then I had some here and there. I knew I was in trouble when I obsessively ate all the mints I had at work yesterday.

Finally the scale is moving down again, seems it got stuck for so long! Makes it easier to resist the junk food and stay on track when I start seeing it working. One pound at a time!

Getting back to exercising since I got cleared by the doctor post surgery.

For me, temptation is best avoided through abstinence.
I am proud that I did not eat while driving to work. I had breakfast at home, and drank a tea while driving. I also did not bring a snack to make not eating while driving easier.

Tonight I was very tempted to have cookie dough ice cream. I reminded myself that it would not solve my problems, and I thought about posting my struggle here. I think that my plan to post about it gave me strength to walk away. Thanks, team!

I was able to pass up all the homemade treats from party at work. People kept asking me and bringing me sweets.. I was successful in resisting all temptation. Not even a taste!

Caramel M&M's are beyond dangerous for me!

I had a go me yesterday. I wanted to eat when we came home from going out but I resisted!

Today I had to work hard to resist caramel M&Ms.

Didn't feel like walking but I/ just decided if I wait till I feel like it I will never get back on track! Intended to get at least 30 minutes and actually pushed it to 80 minutes! Tomorrow I work weird hours on a 12 hour shift so don't have any idea what it will look like but will do what I can. Anything is better than not trying!

The first 1-2 weeks of cutting out sweets is the hardest! Once you make that 2 week point it seems sweets just don't have that hold on you any more and they are so much easier to pass.
I have been there and now working on getting there again - for me now it is bread and pasta

Thanks for the cheering.
The very next day after I posted about resisting, I feasted on M&Ms. And had gum.
So maybe that was a good thing because I also gained a couple of pounds. So my indulgence helped me turn a corner. Now, I have avoided candy and gum for 2 days in a row!

Way to go Laura! I know resisting is hard but like you I have frequently been able to convince myself that indulging is not worth it - that tempting morsel never tastes as good as I imagine it will so not worth wasting the calories or feeling guilty about the slip up.

Someone gave me a package of peanut M&M's at work today and I totally resisted them!

I'm trying to convince myself that for me, eating candy is equivalent to someone with a lung disease smoking. I had prediabetes a few years ago. My numbers improved when I lost about 10 pounds. Now I have gained a couple back am worried my numbers will be bad again

Yes, I recommend the show.

I had a go me today: no eating while driving.
I was very tempted in the morning because I was upset.
I was less tempted in the evening when I knew it was just thirst and I enjoyed watermelon when I got home emoticon

Way to go Laura! Getting through those snack cravings is really rough. It most definitely helps reenforce good choices when the option is not there!

Last night we went to a show. I was sleepy. I would have eaten candy if I had it. Fortunately, the theater did not have any refreshments for sale. I enjoyed the show without any snacks!

I had a piece of cake at a party. It was delicious. I left the last 2 bites.
Later, I was feeling a little sick from the cream. I thought ice cream might help.

I started diligently measuring my meals at home and what I pack. I have also found that when I am super busy and no time or just not hungry a few bites of egg salad, tuna or chicken salad keeps me satisfied and I don't go grazing in things I will regret. It is also enhancing my protein intake. More good stuff less junk!

Have a couple 12 hour night shifts to work. I was able to go the full night last night without feeling hungry. No snacking! And got a half hour of walk taken care of early this morning.

Today I dusted off my bike! My legs are not very strong (yet) so I only got 5 miles in 42 minutes, but I pushed myself to make all five of them. Here in Missouri we have a beautiful bike trail on what was an old railroad. This fall I would like to take a long ride on it. Sooo, I better get those legs going!

Today I got off my hiney and got some stuff done! I spend way too much time on the computer. Spark time is an investment in my health, most of the rest of my time is a waste and unhealthy.

Today I had to start work at 12 PM (lunchtime).
I didn't eat while driving in AND I didn't snack when I got to work. I think it was the effect of reading your posts. Also the herbal tea I drank probably helped too.
Waiting until 2 PM to eat lunch was a huge accomplishment. Thanks for the support

I had a really good check up with my doctor. My lab results are nothing short of fantastic. I am down to half of a blood pressure pill, my doctor is going to take me off of my statin and life is good! She says I need to eat more protein and I know I need to exercise. Strong and consistently. I have another check up in three months. I am going to challenge myself to kick some hiney between now and then. emoticon
