The slow cooker is a favorite of mine also :-)

Other suggestion would be cook ahead on the weekends, create your own freezer meals that you just pop in the microwave and call it a day with a salad :-)

Trying to ward OFF the temptation today! Co-worker brought chocolate cupcakes to work today for Valentine's. And we already had dark chocolate pieces in a bowl in our break room. I have ZERO willpower, but have stayed away from them so far! Only 1/2 day gone.....

Despite aching knees, sciatica and 2 giant dobies pestering the crap out of me, I managed to walk in place for five minutes in my living room. Doesn't sound like much but I'm happy to get any activity. Oh, and it's snowing AGAIN outside.

Why yes, I'm happy. Thanks for noticing.

I can feel a loss coming this week! I gained last week so this week I have been working a second job that I am on my feet for 5 hours and running. Never standing still. I know this is helping. It is exhausting but at least I am dropping some inches. Looking forward to Saturday morning weigh in. emoticon

Don't know if you'll ever love it...but one day you will need to exercise because of how you feel afterwards and the benefits you get from relieving some stress from your body.

It seems its hard for everyone to get moving! I am the same way -- so this weekend I downloaded an app called 7 minute workout. It's all easy stuff that you don't need weights for -- it has a 30-day progress chart so you can visually see the number of times you chose to get moving. Maybe you want to give it a try? Sometimes doing something completely different is enough to awaken the desire to exercise again!

Together WE CAN DO IT!

@ donnamaxx, I have always said the "weekend" was a raw deal with only 2 days off! You are the first person who I've ever heard say that. Anyway, things haven't been going very well with me. I have been to ashamed to even get back on the scale and report it here. I went to the doctor's office the other day and I was the most anxious I had been in a long time, and that was just to have to get on the scale! I had gained 4 pounds since my last weigh in and I am truly unhappy. I'm trying not to beat myself up about and trying to renew my motivation to workout. The weather was one excuse I had for not getting up and going to the gym and it seems it has just become easier and easier to make excuses for not getting some type of workout in. I used to dance in my room for 30 minutes or more and I haven't felt the excitement of doing that. I am trying this week to get in at least 3 days of something if it kills me! (I'm exaggerating, I'm not that extreme)

One day at a time!

Seems a few of us have had a rough week. This is the 2nd week in a row that I did not lose anything. And the week before I was actually up 0.6. Very frustrating. I know the issue is my work outs. Three weeks ago we had horrible weather and I didn't want to do anything except snuggle under the covers. Then it warmed up a bit, but work was extra busy and I didn't get home until very late. Once I got home, ate and cleaned up I just wanted to go to bed. I was determined to do better this week, but the very first day I over did lunch. I'm trying not to be down on myself and just keep plugging along, but it is very frustrating and discouraging!

I am new here. I have had a knee replacement, an L5 fusion in my back and a torn miniscus in my other knee. I have found that pilates is working for me. I have an elliptical that bothers my bad knee as well as my back. I am on my feet all day at work and track my steps. It is very cold icy and snowy here. Any other advice on exercise?

It has been a rough week for me. I worked late 3 days and when I got home I just fell into bed. I did track my foods but only did about 1/3 of my usual exercise and walking. I don't know who decided we needed to work 5 days on and 2 days off, but I don't think they thought it through very well.

I've started exercising more consistently but I've gotten less consistent on recording what I've eaten. I have noticed something I am not hungry after working out. I want water and lots of it but I don't want to eat. I don't know if this means that I'm eating too few calories so I need to get back to recording my intake.

Another good day! I actually ate breakfast! It always sets the day for me when I do. I'm just not hungry...ironically My sparkcoach was about eating breakfast and ways to make quick meals. If you're not hungry, your metabolism is off...at least, that's what I learned today emoticon

I'm experiencing mixed results lately. I'm getting a bit smaller, but my weight isn't moving. I know the classic fat vs. muscle weight argument, but it's still frustrating because I have been in the 190s for over a year now (with SP off and on). I can't figure out what it's going to take to get into the 180s.

This week, I adjusted the plan by stopping the fitness entry from my fitbit and other activity, and made my calorie range 1250-1800 because my daily range was generally 2k or higher based on my activity. I'm using this to see if my activity has been overestimated, and that I just need to eat less.

My doctor is reducing my pills by one which I appreciate, he said that while taking two would prevent further instances, I would be overmedicated for most days. I'm allowed to take 2 if I have a symptom. He's so rational. Today for me it is broccoli day. I'm going to hit the complex carb hard! :)

Woo Hoo Kitty55 that is great news!

It is snowing, 3-6 inches today here in Southeastern Michigan.

Ironically, after watching the Biggest Loser season finale last night and being shocked at the excessive weight loss of all 3 finalists, today's SparkCoach lesson for me was all about moderation. I definitely believe the moderate approach is the healthiest and best way to do this.

Thank you Spark Coach for reminding me and for being there to guide me every step of the way. It's like having my own virtual personal trainer.

Onward & Downward!

Today is a good day! I went to the Dr. yesterday fully expecting her to diagnose me with full blown diabetes....she said I am still in the pre-diabetes stage and to keep doing what I'm doing. Such a relief! I thought I would have to go on medication. emoticon
