Good morning. The computers at work did cooperate last night and got home at the normal time. Yay! Tonight I have TOPS and then joint consistory meeting after that. Another long day.

I don't think I'm going to do very well at TOPS tonight, the scale is not kind this morning. We'll see. I just hope I'm still in leeway. Cross fingers and toes.

Have a great day.

They are calling for 1 to 3 inches of the white stuff tonight and tomorrow morning. Here we go again.

Unfortunately I have been gaining lately. With a breast cancer diagnosis in Sept., surgery in Oct., Thanksgiving in Nov., and Christmas in Dec. I have been indulging my sweet tooth. Well, if I'm not careful my sweet tooth is probably the only one I will have. I have been eating much healthier and hopefully with most of the Christmas candy gone, I will begin to lose.

Pushed myself to work out this morning even though I really wanted to stay in bed. After 15 minutes is got easier and I ended up exercising for 55 minutes. Added 5 more minutes of exercise on my lunch break. I can now do 15 standing push ups using the counter top in the break room. A couple weeks ago, I could only do two. I am making progress!

I found out that I actually lost a few pounds since last week, by just packing healthy lunches and making healthy breakfasts. I am very motivated. I also had extra energy, came home, took hubby and puppies on a dog walk and finished my workout routine with 100 moves at home. I tracked all my food and I am well fed, and feel very happy. On to play in the SparkTeams.

I have a low-grade fever. It started sometime early Sunday morning. I went to work, plodded through the day(but got some great help from my legal assistant), and managed to stay at work the entire day. I cooked dinner, am only going to dance a bit tonight. I hope I can get the rest of my 8K steps in tonight.

I've had a strong bug of some sort over the last 24 + hours, so have slept pretty much round the clock since Saturday afternoon.

On the negative side, this does mean I havent had the strength or ability to exercise, on the positive side I have managed to exceed my get at least 8 hours sleep a night.

Am feeling better this eveing, and plan to start with gentle exercise tomorrow.

Success is inevitable

I am doing ok but haven't been very consistent with checking in with Spark Coach and the forums. Still tracking food and exercise but haven't lost any weight. Getting to the point of feeling like I am just stuck here (since June 2012) and no matter what I eat or how I exercise nothing seems to make any difference so I will be healthy as I can possibly be and stop expecting to lose... Just hard to accept that I will just be this weight and size despite my efforts.

Just logged my food for the day! It feels really good to know what the plan is for the day and to know that I'm making good choices. When I get home this evening I'm working out with Coach Nicole. I'm feeling positive even though no results yet.

Hi funny Flower,
Congratulations! I don't usually respond to those who are already at a healthy weight, but you struck me as someone with uncommon courage. To see that weight is not everything in fitness is a gift, and I commend you for looking to make changes that you can. You don't even have the extra motivation of doctors saying "lose weight" all the time or people staring and saying thoughtless things to you.

Good luck. You have a great attitude! I'm sure you'll accomplish your goals.

Good afternoon, I started SP years ago, and lost the weight and then let myself go. Why? Well my "excuse" is that I didn't have time for me anymore, I believe now it was just a crutch for when I was depressed, but it made me worse. I am now trying to lose the weight again, slower and even exercise while I do it. My knees and back don't want to work, but I am walking daily so that helps!

I am going to have to start getting up earlier in the mornings and making my plan for my meals that is the only choice I have come up with. Work and lunch with fast foods is not working. And I still sneak a coke (not diet) in every once in a while, I'm going to have to stop them and drink water or unsweetened tea all together.

Okay it sounds like I know what I gotta do, now to plan to do it! Good luck with everyone!

Hi All,

Just got back from house cleaning with Mom so my exercise is in. I did squat and lunges while I cleaned. I am doing well with Spark Coach. The videos really give you good ideas on how to stay motivated.

Hope you all are Sparking.

I started Spark Coach only a week ago and I have now signed up for a year. I find it very motivating to be guided and even attempted a new class at the gym today (which I kept saying I would try and didn't). The class was challenging and i enjoyed it . That was a Woohoo moment for me. Am determined to make this a lifestyle challenge and not the on again off again diets and habits that I always seem to have been on before.

I had to get up extra early today to get blood tests done. I joined a Healthy Workplace Challenge at my work and they needed all the participants to get fasting blood work done. Yuck! I'm needle phobic, so I never enjoy those sorts of things. Since it was a 12 hour fast requirement, that meant I had to stop eating by 7:30pm Sunday night. Not usually a huge deal, but because I couldn't have food, I wanted it more. emoticon

Otherwise, I need to start eating lunch on weekends because I find I'm falling short on calories for those two days. Another goal to set for myself. I also have reached my first 20 lbs down! I am very happy and motivated!

Good Morning Everyone!
I have had a lot of changes in my life since September 2012, had to move my business office then had to moved from the house I lived for almost 7 years and the final changed my daughter moved out of State and now I have to take my grandson to & from work across town (it takes me between an hour to an hour and half to take him and come back to start my day at my business), then I have to do it all over again in the afternoon.
I did not had too much trouble at the beginning because (I now realize) I was able to keep my exercise routine in the morning (5:00 AM), when I moved it took time to set my home gym again and about the same time I started the commute in the morning which I had to stop my exercise routine. The last two changes happened about the middle of November then the Holidays came and I lost all kind of balance I had worked so hard to learned in the last 15 month, I started gaining some of my weight back (5 Lbs.) and I started to get depressed and angry at the same time.
Last week I did a Seven Day Reporting Blog on my SP page and since I had to be true to my self and be public about the mistakes I was making, it help me to get back on track fast, I'm still struggling with my fitness minutes due to the time I'm loosing from my normal day but I started following the recommended menu and took out food scale and measuring cup & spoons; my goals for this week are (small) to follow the plan and to increase my walking to 5,000 steps per day.
(Before November 15th I was training to run a 5K and 60 Min of cardio exercise treadmill or stationary bike 6 days per week with 3 days of strength training) now I'm barely making 4,400 steps per day and lucky if I squeeze some strength and cardio exercise).
With all the help from SC and the members from my team that are posting comments in my blogs I'm in the way to recovery, I'm getting back, dusting off the back of my pants and getting in the band wagon.
Thank you Spark Coach and thank you to this community for all the help that makes possible to change my life style to a healthy me.
The moral of the story is: No matter what life throws your way you still in control of your life and you can do it!
I learned this with Spark People.
Truly yours, Issy emoticon

Hi All,

I joined the sparkcoach for one year program. I am always so busy, I don't take the time to think about diet and exercise, especially since I come for an unhealthy family genes...I'm not really over weight, but if I could live off of chocolate soda and coffee all of my life I would. I am going to try to add some exercise just this next week for less than half an hour since I aborrh exercise all together! Here goes! emoticon

Started out well by getting starting a walking routine and journaling my food. Made some good lunches and breakfasts in advance for this coming week, so I have no excuse and get to eat yummy stuff that is healthy as well. I even created two recipes for my recipe box, so it's easier to track my nutrition.

I have been more on task with Spark Coach. This is my first time posting but I have been doing this since last fall. I love the accountability. Except for computer trouble and a couple of days when I just could not squeeze this in I have been very consistent with tracking an exercise. I really hope to make more progress. I have lost 10 lbs. but I am afraid to get back on the scale again. I will make myself do that in the morning. I will not be good news. I really struggle when I have to drop calorie levels. I know it is important to do that to lose consistently. I believe some of the medication I am on hinders my weight loss. I am determined to conquer this weight problem. I will keep after it until I am successful. Thanks for being there SparkCoach.

Working harder and eating less junk-less overall actually and still the scale doesn't cooperate. I know I need to get back in to the Dr for another thyroid test-the one last month was way off and my hair is falling out so I know something bad is going on. I plan to drop in Tuesday morning at the Dr office and see if I can get the blood drawn then. It's nice that they provide someone to do that most mornings for a few hours which means I don't have to wait an hour or two at a lab.

Today I tried shirataki noodles for the first time. They are only 20 calories per serving and they actually taste great! I can't have wheat pasta due to food allergies, and I was not impressed with spaghetti squash. These noodles actually are like eating spaghetti made from wheat. I added Hunts sugar free pasta sauce (35 cal per serving), mushrooms, onions, peppers and vegetarian Italian sausage. It was a great meal!

I found the shirataki noodles in the produce area of my market. They were with the vegetarian foods.

Hey team. Hope everyone is doing well. I've been busy, busy, busy. Friday I was so tired that all I could think of was getting off work at 6pm and coming home, getting in my nightgown and unwinding. You know what they say about the best laid plans, someone always messing with them. Because of a computer problem, I didn't get out of work until almost 8pm. I was one tired puppy.

Saturday we met some friends so that we could go to Sam's Club and purchase food and supplies for a meal next Saturday, so no sleeping in. Last night I went to bed at 10 and I didn't wake up until around 5, just long enough to look at the clock, and went back to sleep and slept until almost 7.

Today after church, we met some family at Texas Roadhouse for lunch. We were there for 2 1/2 hours talking.

Tomorrow it's back to work.

How does anyone pay for a year of SC? I've never been offered that opportunity.

The video today was really good. It gave some really good advice. The scale has always been the biggest sapper of my motivation. I will really begin to look at other areas of measurment.

I just signed on for a year of Sparkcoach. I enjoyed the introduction, and am looking forward to the extra help and motivation. Today I started cleaning my house and before I knew it an hour had gone by and I was breaking a sweat and getting organized. I have always seen results when I write down my food intake. Looking forward to a thinner 2013.

I'm off to do some consulting today and then to the birthday party of one of my friend's children.

I have struggled a little this week with exercise and with motivation. This is the start of a new week, though and I am going to do a little better with exercise. I will never quit. I want to be healthy, fit and able to do anything I want to do physically.

WOW... day 2 of SparkCoach and I love it. I'm getting over bronchitis so I'm not "fully" there yet, but love the reminders, videos and concepts. This is great! emoticon

Good morning all you lovely critters! I started out strong with better breakfast choices and a wonderful hubby to make me laugh. I am putting together a reasonable workout plan that keeps me moving so I can help my cholesterol levels to drop, and work with my busted knee. There are lots of great resources and information on how to work around physical issues. :) To all a great day!

Spietzy you can change the spark coach program. I am doing the plateau busters program. It also lets you go to another private spark team.

We renewed our membership at the fitness center here last month and I haven't gone yet and I know I must go. There are some exercises I need to do there. Some of the machines there I was using in Physical Therapy. I'm losing range of motion in my shoulder again and my neck.

I've reached a weight loss plateau but I'm sticking with the program. In the past I became frustrated and gave up. SP has taught me to view other things besides the scale. I can now touch my toes, connect my hands behind my back, and walking is much easier. Thank you SP. emoticon
