Today I made a nice veggie filled lentil soup with turkey smoked sausage. I wasn't hungry again for hours.

With some spice and salt they're delicious!

I do too. I recently got some basil flavored olive oil and some fig balsamic vinegar and it's perfect with it. Yummy.

I misspelled it, its caprese salad. It's sliced tomato, buffalo mozzarella, and basil with a drizzle of good olive oil and some balsamic vinegar.

Sounds good! I'm not familiar with caprice salad. What's in it?

Well it was good, but I'm sticking with cod and haddock. I thought it lacked some flavor that cod and haddock doesn't. That's not to say it wasn't good, but just not taking the place of the other two. Still a good dinner. I served over cous cous cooked with orange juice and dried cranberries and with a caprice salad so it was a nice dinner.

I bought fillet of hake today. It's a member of the Cod family but supposed to be less flakey, and sweeter. Should be interesting to see how it turns out.

Which, besides the price, is probably why it's so popular. Foodnetwork.com says it's their most searched ingredient by a mile.

Actually sort of, but denser and more steak-like. But yes rabbit, rattesnake, gator, and lots of other things are all just like chicken. I feel sorry for chicken. It is the taste of anything and everything.

Did it taste like chicken? emoticon

Why is it that anything you don't want to eat "tastes like chicken?" I swear, someday I'm going to serve chicken and say, "Enjoy -- it tastes just like rattlesnake."

I did try gator in a gartor stew last week, but I'm not running out to get more. Not bad, but not great either.

Last week I tried Israeli couscous for the first time. Fantastic -- it definitely stays in the pantry. I'm thinking of trying a chicken and couscous (instead of noodles) soup.
