Hi April! I would say that generally you need to find pay attention to how your body reacts to the level of carbs it has. I, personally, don't care that the tracker isn't "net carbs".....that's just too much for me to worry about and want to stay on plan. How do you feel with the 5% carbs?

Hi all! I am new to keto - just about a week. I am using the tracker to maintain 75% fat, 20% protein and 5% carb. However the tracker is not "net carbs" and I am wondering how big of a deal that is.

Today is my third day tracking my fat, protein and carbs on SparkPeople. I've lost 30 pounds on Keto before (and thankfully kept it off even when I went off Keto), but the minute I stop tracking my numbers, I stop losing. So, I'm back at it! I know it takes a little time to see the numbers drop, but was kind of frustrated that I hadn't lost more in two days LOL silly I know... I'm keeping calm and ketoing on!

Thought I had better check in here since it's been a bit. I'm doing fine on NK. I dropped another half pound this morning. I've reduced my protein a bit more, most days only have BPC for breakfast, then a reasonable lunch and dinner and I also now calculate my ketogenic ratio which seems to be just what I needed to get my ketone levels up and blood sugar down. I try to have my meals maintain a ratio of at least 1.5 (ketogenic/anti-ketogenic value) and then add one to two BPC to ensure I get my fat. I gave up dairy 10 days ago as it was bothering me.

I hang out mostly on the nkrevolution forum now as our team hear was too quiet. I hope you're all thriving on our WOE.

Awesome, Wendy!! How's it going so far? Learning about Candida several years ago is what got me headed in this direction. I am very happy about that!

Let us know how you are doing and if there's anything we can do to support you!

Hello everyone! My name is Wendy. I'm 44 and trying to lose around a hundred pounds. I have an allergy to wheat, corn and a few other odd things. I've done some auto immune elimination work to identify my greatest sensitivities, had allergy tests to identify some others and now it's time to get to work. Given my sensitivities, I believe that keto is most definitely the way to go for me.

I'm starting with the following numbers:

1600 total daily cals
90 grams protein
20 grams carbs (net)
The rest of my cals in fats

I feel like I've learned so much and each thing I've learned has been a hard lesson. I've learned about candida, I've learned how addicted to Cheetos I am, and so much more.

I'm tired of this slow death and want to change my life. I want to ride roller coasters with my kids in June.

Any advice or thoughts on my numbers is welcome! It's a stab in the dark, based on some research.

Wendy

Hello everyone. Hope you're all making progress. I've had another nice drop and couldn't be happier. Of all the "diets/WOEs" I've tried, nothing has worked as well as NK. Hope you're all having success, no matter how small.

Just checking in here. I'm down another bit and feel pretty good. I've lost 8.75 lbs since starting NK WOE. My blood ketone reading this morning was 1.5 which is my goal. Highest evening reading was 2.4. Will continue testing for another month to see how many carbs I can eat without getting bumped out of ketosis.

Hope you're all having as much success.

I am in the midst of doing an elimination diet, to try and determine reactive foods. I have issues with some and need to focus on pin pointing them. So I can avoid them all together.
So far it looks like ALL starchy vegetables, I already knew grains/gluten was terrible, but now it looks even like greens from some of the rooted ones as well; beets, carrot tops too.
I can't even eat anything with a close connection to any hormones or antibiotics. Terrible reactions.
So once I finish this, I will tackle another get go on the "BIG K" LOL
Congrats on your progress LUV2LAQUILT, excellent job!

I kept to my protein and fat goals but did consume more carbs that I wanted. Had some sweet potato. I have a .25 bounce this morning, but had dropped a pound on tuesday morning, so I'm ok with it. My blood ketones were 1.4 two hrs after eating last night and still 1.1 this morning so I didn't get tossed out of ketosis.

I've reduced my calorie range to 1250 - 1380.
I'm eating no more than 65g of Protein, max of 117g of Fat and keeping my carbs under 20, but most days under 10.

I've completed 7 weeks of NK and dropped 8 pounds. I began getting consistent morning BK readings of .5 and above after 25 days. All of my "2 hr after eating my last meal" readings also indicate continued ketosis.

I want to stabilize for a few more weeks and see how high I can go by evening. I've had a few BK over 2 and would like to be closer to 3 so maybe I won't get thrown out by a small eating indiscretion. Then I'm going to add more carbs and see how many carbs I can eat without breaking ketosis as I would like to eat more greens. Once I know that, I'll probably test only once a day. My glucose is not as low as I would like, always under 100, but for some of my BK readings I think it should be in the low 80's, but that may take more time.

Anyway, this is what is working for me.

Yes, I would love to hear what is working for you, too!

Yesterday was a bust for me and ketosis. So, now I'll spend the next few days getting back at it. How did everyone else do yesterday?

Can I ask what percentages you are at? I love to hear how each of us tailor a plan for ourselves!

I am currently doing a cleanse for reactive food determination again.
Higher carbs, mostly greens and very simple food choices. Of course eating so many plain green choices and adding other foods one by one back has a lot more healthy carbs. I am not currently in ketosis. Carbs are higher as I consume what seems to be issues with certain vegetables. But the work is necessary to get health.

Happy Hanukkah and Happy Thanksgiving too!

Hello everyone. Been a few days since anyone has posted so I thought I'd post my progress. I reduced my fat and protein a bit on the 17th and just began week 7. The scale is finally showing loss so I'll stay with this plan for now. Hope everyone else is finding small successes too. Try not to overdue turkey day tomorrow. I'm going to stay on plan as I don't want any setbacks.

Quiet all over.
I have been busy trying to take over for a new team. Grain Brain
I am doing good and hitting my numbers. I have found my health and my levels.
60-70% fat
10-20% carbs
20-30% Protein
Hitting 1200-1400 calories
I am enjoying the new found energy, sleep and feeling so, so good.
I popped in earlier, but got pulled away.
The Gluten Summit is good, it will run through the 17th. It has some good stuff.

2 weeks of ketosis and feeling so good. I am hoping it stays!

Holy moly!! Where is everyone?? Erin....how are you doing? Fullfiguredgal?? Still having a good streak??

I've been doing good, but not 100%. Though, yesterday was 100% on target and today is going well so far. I am really working to get my head in the game. I need me a streak!!

Today, I've had coffee with cream, and will probably have lunch in about an hour. I'd love to hear how all of you are doing!!!

Today's plan;
Fat 70%
Carbs 16%
Proteins 14%
Calories around 1400 or minus Snack and closer to1200
I am curious how this works out. Not having a meat /animal protein for breakfast

Eating a few more carbs, and reducing proteins because of this. Not reducing fat...never fat LOL

I am having a mood today
B- Chia seeds, pumpkin, coconut oil, cream in my coffee
L- bacon, spinach, tomato, jalapenos
D- large salad, EVOO, shrimp, ghee and a glass of wine.
S- if needed, flax pumpkin, walnut, cranberry muffin and butter
Sunday will be low carb. Always planning ahead.

I want to get to that place where I like me in my pants and feel good about it too. LOL

I have health issues so I want to like me in my body and be happy with that fit. LOL

Fat 99g 64%
Carbs 46gg 29ng 13%
Protein 79g 23%
Calories 1385

I am shooting for the mid range on Dr. Permutter's plan of
60%-70% fat
10%-20% carbs
20%-30% proteins

I get to low on my carbs, and I get funky and not in a good way, so I raised them a little today.

Erin, great to see the progress, and great topic to see everyone's numbers. Mostly

I love it when "more calories" is the answer. I've recently been not tracking, because I know I can stay within my carb range. Over the last few years I've spent SO much time tracking and pondering calories. I need to consider it an investment in learning how to eat so I don't need to buy new (bigger) pants all the time. But I'm trying to validate that I can just do this without all the tracking.

When I was tracking I averaged 1800 cal per day, 150g of fat (75%), and 30g net carbs (7%). Depending on your terminology, I'm either "stalled", "not trying" or "enjoying my current pants" right now. I think my body is a little tired of the on and off efforts for weight loss the last 3 years, so I'm planning to just buzz along like this for a while until I see shorts weather on the hoirzon.

Down another pound today , 4 for the week so far. Holding my breath....omgosh it is working again?! Maybe all I needed was to back off, rethink this through. I did change a few things along the way. Upped my calories and not eating as much animal fats and using plant based fats more. I am praying I can have a good run again, and maybe even longer. Feeling really good, sleeping good and all and all, happy with this.

I make my own almond butter and add a wee bit of coconut oil and EVOO to make it creamy and smooth. So easy just use processor and a pound of raw almonds, sea salt and coconut oil, adding EVOO after it is all processed to get to the consistency you like. I stay clear of all legumes I react to them. Leaky Gut gal here.

Count your day as an IF day. They say we need a few once and awhile, stirs things up in the ole body.

I couldn't go all day without food, when I do a IF I do it from late afternoon until late morning the next day.

I add coconut oil to my afternoon tea today to get my fat higher. Or I wouldn't have made in the 60%on fat.

AWESOME Erin1957!! So cool!!

...yeah, today has not gone well for me...I haven't cheated but I was so busy I just had my first meal at 3:30 in the afternoon and that means the majority of my calories I have to get in before my 9pm bedtime...probably just eat a lot of eggs to get the rest of my cals in...been craving peanut butter all day...the one I use is Laura Scudder's peanut butter because it really has NO sugar in it at all! I used to use Jif Natural but that really has some form of sugar in it...anyway, I ran out of Laura Scudder's and so I couldn't get any...the only place that sells it close to me is Walmart and I hate going there in the afternoon/evening...I'll wait until tomorrow morning :)

CONGRATS FULLFIGUREGAL!!!!
Amazing job.

I upped my calories. Lost my weight gain from Sunday, plus 3 more pounds.
I have had 3 days now that I am eating more. Doing more and staying on target.
I will try and repeat yesterday, today. I have enough food to try this and see what happens.
Feeling good!

Macros are looking good ladies! :)

I think I'm going to try to work in a small steak today to see if I can tolerate it...

Was cleaning with bleach yesterday, so I'm swollen today...I'm allergic but nothing whitens or disinfects my floors like it...I know I shouldn't but now I'm paying the price...just keeping to my macros and working out from home today :)

Am down to 214 as of Sunday..

67%F 105g
5.6%C 20g 14ng [ may increase]
27.4%P 97g [ may lower]
1400 cals
441 burned through exercise

Tired, but that could be a lot to do with the week end and getting caught up and the darn food from yesterday's visit to son's home and dinner with them. Bless their hearts but very high on the carb end. Even having small amounts it effected me.
I plan on only doing this for a short time this time, unless I feel amazing and my health numbers stay good. I am watching everything very closely.
Grain and gluten free. No junk, no empty carbs what so ever.
B-Eggs, bacon, cream
L-smoked salmon, cheese
S-cream cheese, walnuts, coconut oil
D-pork steak, brussel sprouts, evoo

Walk through your journey with a loving open heart and as well mind. Treat others as you would like to be treated.
Laugh, if at nothing else yourself.

Hi Erin! I didn't realize you weren't on plan! I haven't been either, but I am back on as of today! My family is doing a 7-week Family Fit Challenge, working towards going to see the new Frozen movie in the theaters. Each of us has set some fitness goals, and I am adding ketosis to mine as well.

So, let's get at it, Erin!! emoticon

Getting back in the game this week.
Targeting low carb, moderate to low proteins.
Today mid 60's on fat. I hope I get into ketosis fast as I want at least a two week stretch.

@Erin1957: good for you...and you will have a good November :)
Just remember, you're not the only one that goes through it...in some form or other we all do...we have to listen to our bodies always...I know when I get my next flare up that I will have to stop & just let my body recuperate...it's frustrating & I used to let it get me down and give up for awhile, but that just makes it harder to get back into it...after 10 years of that I realized that's just how MY body works and I learned to not let it get me down as much so that I can pick up when my body was ready to...mentally it helped me a lot because sometimes we forget that the journey is not just about the physical changes, but also growing stronger emotionally and mentally as well...

@Kristinsgoals: a little sugar is a huge success in my book! I'm still too new to try that and knew I wouldn't have stopped at a little: chocolate & desserts are my weaknesses, if I start I won't stop at just one! About the foods, I noticed the same thing with me...the more variety, the more I lose my focus and I can easily mess up my numbers trying different things...keeping it simple works for me emoticon

Very cool, FULLFIGUREDGAL! I'm excited for you that you did so well over Halloween! I did fine all day, but had a little bit of sugar that evening. Still a success for me though.

Great idea to stick to the basics. I eat pretty boringly as well....too much movement or variety in my meals and I lose my focus. Not sure why....almost like I keep looking for "more" and find myself off on a food tangent. Crazy.

Go for you guys!

I have been edging closer in the 60's off and on with fat, and am actually feeling pretty darn good. My carbs from vegetables and greens are higher and protein lower.
I am tracking and active.
I as well started a Cheese class where I am learning how to make organic cheese. Enjoying it totally.
I go to the doctors next week and am hoping for good numbers all the way around. September was a good month, October a learning month and November I am praying will be another good month.

Good for you Kristinsgoals!
It's always hard when you have to balance things out...believe me I think about when I start working again and how I will be able to balance it all...I know I won't be able to dedicate as much time to this as I am now, so I'm trying to fine tune it all so at least I have some sort of routine going...it's so much harder to follow Keto when you are on the go...a lot of people say prepare and pack up a few meals for easy access but sometimes easier said than done...

As for me, I'm on my 11th day of Keto, survived Halloween without any candy, sugar or carb slip-ups which is a miracle in itself. I'm still going strong except I didn't meet my numbers, came in too low for a couple of days and I think that has slowed me some...lost 5lbs the first week and that was during my bloating t.o.m so I'm glad. I've lost more inches than anything...I don't measure until 1 month into it, but can tell from my clothes...I take it one meal at a time...the IF & bulletproof coffee help me out a lot...I'm on a tight budget as I've been out of work for 6 months now (still looking) so I just stick to basics...it gets boring but it's all I can do right now...I do a lot of exercise so that helps me

Good morning, everyone! It's so fun to see so many faces here and to see all the conversation going on. I'm so sorry that I've been MIA. I tell ya....my life just all of a sudden went full force and I've just been trying to keep my head afloat. I'm trying for a new job and have been working very hard at training for it, among my already busy life with my family and current job. I have done okay with keeping on my keto plan, but find myself not 100% on plan every single day. It's really getting frustrating...not seeing any progress with my body, but I'm just trying to keep my head in the game as much as I can until my schedule/life eases up. I just need to find more time to get in here with all of you. That always helps me more than anything!

It truly is a process of playing with numbers and seeing where we need to be, the investment is so worth all our efforts. Not all plans work for all people.
I truly believe some form of low carb works for everyone and it can be done even if a vegetarian.
Ketogenic diets are used for health and many forms of health. Weight loss is health and many are proving ketosis is away to obtain weight loss. But again, not all people can maintain the guidelines to do this and for many reasons.
I truly believe finding a medical staff that works with these diets might have to be an option for some of us. But it is doable and can be implemented through gradual changes working toward a keto diet.
I am one of these people, and I have to work diligently with medical professionals that deal with these situations(not an easy task to find). But many clinics do have the educated staff to do this, some bariatric clinics need to be used, not for surgery purposes but dietary practices.
Right now, I will not be following a keto diet, but strive to some day. My health issues are making it more difficult, but I am hopeful we will see this through and I will become healthier in the process. BUT I will do a low carb diet and follow a clean non processed food plan.
Good Luck and always remember to enjoy your journey!

I understand your situation and that you need to prioritize. Perhaps looking on-line for some recipes using what you have on hand could help. I have seen recipes for oatmeal where they are more savory than sweet. emoticon

I like all those- do not have any... food stamps cut by 11.00 a month and what I get is all I get.. so do not know if I can get those as I need the proteins, fats first and low carb veggies.. FS are all inclusive for the month - on disability and just getting by ... need dentures- van repairs- gas- etc... just happen to have the quinoa (bag from costco in fridge from months ago also the oatmeal in cabinet might be from a year ago..LOL ) when bs drop to 66 - that is damaging .. have to do with what I have until the 9th of nov...
do not have a spike and crash from carb and fat...I figured it would just make me fatter instead of loosing

If you need to add some carbs to level out your blood sugar why not trying things like an apple with peanut butter or some butternut squash with lots of butter? You may not get the spike and crash effect because of the carb and fat combination. Just a thought...

Spiritseeker,

I posted this on another thread here but thought I'd repost some of it. It may help you? for me I'm holding to 20 carbs but may increase that a bit from time to time. I'm missing my veggies and at 20 I don't get many. I also was trying to increase my FAT to 154, my low goal per the Optimal Nutrition Formula and found I couldn't unless I ate more calories which I didn't feel good about doing as I want to lose. I also didn't feel good eating that much FAT after years of avoiding it because I don't have a gallbladder. Anyway, from others on a lowcarb forum, I was told too high FAT can also be bad, especially for weight loss. Read below and see if any of their advice helps you? Perhaps find your Protein level by the ideal body weight, choose your carbs, 30g or whatever, calculate those in calories and then fill the rest up with FAT and see how you do. Proteins and Carbs are 4 calories per gram and FAT is 9 calories per gram.

----------------------------------------
----------------------

I've decided to change my goals a bit. I posted at a lowcarb forum to find out about exceeding my calories in order to get any where close to my low end of my FAT goal and got some good advice. Several agreed so I've reduced my FAT in order to keep from exceeding my calories.

MY NEW GOALS FOLLOWING THE GUIDELINES BELOW --

Protein - 65g
Carbs - 0 to 20 g
FAT - 110to 129
Calories - 1,500

FROM THE LOWCARB FORUM, This makes sense to me -

Percentages don't matter. There is no specific requirement for amount of dietary fat, other than an absolute minimum of 30 g/day to prevent gall bladder issues (though higher is of course better and recommended on the NK WOE).

What you are supposed to do is eat the correct grams of protein for your lean body mass, eat the amount of carbs you desire, such as to stay in ketosis, and then eat the rest of your calories from fat.

EXAMPLE - I shoot for about 70 g protein a day, carbs vary but I have 25 net as my goal (35 total, 10 g fiber), and the rest from fat, which is about 110 g to get to 1400 calories. If I go over or under calories it should ideally be from variations in fat consumption (though in reality that isn't always the case).

Remember if you are eating at a calorie deficit (to lose weight) your body will also use additional fat from your body stores as a source of calories, not just the fat calories you consume.

Everyone must be busy as noone posted yesterday, me included. I'm down another half pound for a two week loss of 7 pounds. After my huge loss in the first week I figured I wouldn't lose much this next week but did hope for a bit more than the half, but I'll take it. It still gets me closer to a healthy weight.

Hope you are all still on track and reaching your own personal goals. If not, we're here to help and listen.

Have a wonderful day!

GREAT JOB!!!

I am better today, feeling more human and have more energy. It is what it is and I welcome good days!

Staying in a low ketosis state which is OK. My fat intake has been consistent and so has carbs, and proteins.
The sun is out and I am going to appreciate it, even if it is cold out.
Coffee hit the news again today, good for liver health! Heck yeah!

Going away for the week end tomorrow, so everyone here have a great week end and enjoy your journey!

I am heading for the rowing machine and some kettle bells.

Walk through your journey with a loving open heart and as well mind. Treat others as you would like to be treated.
Laugh, if at nothing else yourself.

I hope you feel better soon, too... :)

As for me, it's my 3rd day on Keto, did quick overview of measurements/wt because I don't do the keto sticks...didn't expect much and got a lot! Inches at 4 different locations totaled a 3 inch loss...weight down 3 inches...have been hitting my 1800 calorie goals consistently...actually had ground beef yesterday which put me over my calorie limit but still losing...I'm under my 25 gram limit on carbs, but that's ok...I do better with lower grams, even though I'm eating carbs with each meal...not gonna take measurements or weigh until the end of my current challenge which is in 13 days. Just wanted to make sure I'm on track

I'm drinking a lot of water to keep flushing the fat out my system...last time I did Keto didn't drink enough and bloated up insanely( 10 pounds in one week! knew it was bloating because it went down just as quickly)...plus watching the salty snacks like pepperoni and beef sticks...not hungry, but am craving chocolate and sugar...I know there's Keto desserts I could do but I want to keep as clean as possible for the 1st 4 weeks

NO flu like symptoms this time but I upped my sodium and potassium as recommended at another website to avoid it; energy is through the roof, do have insomnia but I always do anyway so it's no big deal...

Yesterday was the first day I hit the lower end of my FAT goal at 154 grams, but had to break my max on calories. So how do you eat at least 143 grams of FAT and stay under 1500 calories? I was 17 carbs and 76 protein. I also went a bit higher than Optimal Diet ideal protein calculation. I exceeded the calories by 279. And that figure still did not get me to my 80% FAT goal.

I'm feeling fine and still not weighed since last saturday. May jump on the scale tomorrow.

How is everyone else doing?

Spiritseeker,

I've been watching some youtube videos of Dr Phinney and Jimmy Moore. They both say if you stall or can't seem to lose, then reduce the carbs or add fat. Since my carb goal is 20 grams or less and for me very hard to get below, I've been really adding the fat this week so I especially think for me that is what is causing this weight release.

What's helped me -
I'm using the tracker. Last weekend I located all the foods I would consume and put them in my favorites. If I couldn't find my food choices then I went to the cupboard and loaded them into the database and included them in my favorites as well. I especially wanted to be sure any foods I'd use in a recipe would also be in there so I could calculate how much in a serving.

I added some recipes to that side of the SPARK on things I'd consume and added them to my favorites as well, tho they are in the "recipe" tab. It gives me more choices and now confidence in really preparing foods not just eating an egg, etc. It feels like a "meal" and I now know I'm still meeting my goals.

I now can easily PLAN my menus in advance and see where my plan hits my P/F/C goals. I don't think I'd have been able to get in the groove had I not done all this. I'm very serious about losing this weight and regaining what I can of my health. I've been carrying it around now for nearly 3 years and it has to go!!!

Hang in there and don't be a stranger. We're all here to support and help one another. We have a great team here.

Now off to help my uncle buy a van......

Got on the scale this morning. Only been eating toward Keto since the 13th, 6 full days. I'm down another 2 pounds!! That's a 6.5 pound loss for me in 6 days. Never in my life have I lost that many pounds in a week. I figure I had 63 pounds to lose to a realistic weight goal when I started this. I can't tell ya all how excited and hopeful I am now. Perhaps I've found my answer at last. I really didn't lose anything on just low carb, but with the fat that must be the answer for me! My Fat percentage average for these past 6 days has been 78% with an average of 88 grams.

May you all be as successful as I've been. I know this much of a loss is probably not going to happen again and will be thankful with a 2 pound for the next week. Okay, off to consume my breakfast. Happy Ketosis everyone!

It is a challenge to find reactive foods, it has taken me many years to figure a lot of this out and I am still plugging away at it.
I still believe anything with chemicals in it, is a crapshoot. God only knows how we will react with hormone health, which regulates so very much, especially inflammation, which cause weight gain or fluid retention.
I know for me if I try using season salts that may have MSG in it, I am done. I will and have added several pounds doing this. I have less issue with clean fat then I do with these sort of things I add to my food. Even celery salt acts like that in my body, triggering immediate reactions. As does foods with added hormones and antibiotics.
Puff up like a Puffer Fish. emoticon

I am targeting 60/20/20 today, have been doing OK and feeling better here. In a week or two I will raise it gradually and slowly 5% at a time. Hang out there and see how things go for a few weeks at a time.

...no need to apologize I appreciated your kindness and just thought we should share our war wounds LOL
We all are on the right path with using keto-diets to heal. I never even thought about doing this for health before I came here. I had read a lot and then to know neurologist were using this and with great success. I was surprised that even mine had approached it with other patients. I knew about ketosis fro my Atkins days, never had a clue how it would even apply to health issues and so many as well. It is a good plan and I think we may have to adjust time and again, but I do believe in it fully.
It sounds like you are having a tough time with your issues as well.
I try and stay positive and just keep plugging away and enjoying the good days and staying mobile. I was so bad last winter compared to now. I am glad so many doctors are looking into forms of diet to help patients and their healing.

It's not causing health issues it is aggravating current health issues. I have abundant issues and actually low carb has helped them. I have RRMS, B12 absorption and as well fatty liver from a few years back that actually causes Cirrhosis of the Liver. I have as well enzymes issues, other then all this I am perfectly A-OK. LOL

I love my herbal tea and would be lost without it. I do drink a lot of water as well.
Hang in there it does take time and hopefully I will be able to increase slowly and get back to that wonderful phase again.

thank you all for all the great info.. I am working on this.. drinking more water instead of tea... has not made a difference so far... proteins are around 80g .. still need to bring that down.. have the cream and cheese so it can not be wasted.. just will eat less :0).. day 2 of changes ... day 8 on plan.. BS dropped yesterday afternoon.. I do keep the glucose tablets on hand .. but just laid down and waited for lunch to kick in - and it did - so did not take the tablets.. getting the fat up upped the calories ?? so another thing to figure out..

I love Georgia Edes, and her blog. She is very interesting.
She eats a whole lot of protein and duck fat LOL Have you ran across where she eats baby food yet? To funny. She is one of the people that does the work herself and you got to admire that.
Congrats on the great big weight loss AWESOME( emoticon ) I sang it for you LOL

Well this extreme fat is not meant for me. My health numbers were all over the place.
So I lowered it down targeting 60 -20-20 for now trying to still stay in ketosis.
Fourth day doing this and have noticed so many positive changes. The heaviness in my body is gone, my head aches are gone and my energy is getting better. Sleep finally has returned as well.

Sorry folks it just isn't healthy for me. I am solid on staying away from all grains and all processed sugars. Eating clean and low glycemic, low carb is for me.

At first I felt amazing and then about the 7th week I started feeling strange, tired and just not well. My joints stiffened up and sleep suffered terrible. I had heart palpitations and terrible headaches. My body screamed loud to stop. Having my blood work ran, my doctor said stop as well. My inflammation markers have not been this high for a very long time. All the rest were off as well. Strange how at first this worked good, but once I tried to achieve those higher numbers in the 70-80% kicked my health to the curb.

With having RRMS, I am so close to having a relapse that I seriously had to look at what I was doing. I still can achieve ketosis without doing such extremes.

My activity has been a lot and I did push myself (for me), but shouldn't crash so fast and so hard. Obviously things needed to change.
It is what it is and I am learning what I need, to achieve all I can for health.
Since these last few days of changes I have noticed out put is back to normal. The inflammation is less. I go back again on Monday and have it checked.

Keto can be achieved still for some of us with less fat and less calories. I am all about health and weight loss if it occurs from this health.

It is a great team here!!

woohoo.....okay, I said I wouldn't weigh until the19th but I've been feeling thinner so this morning I weighed. I'm down 4.5 pounds since the 13th. For me, this kind of loss is HUGE!!! I'm the world's hardest loser. My body has decided this WOE is what it needs. I have no idea if I'm in ketosis but as long as the pounds drop, I'm happy. Hope you all have a great day. Off to work.
