Hi everyone,

Just put in my usual 11+ hours at my desk (drafting an opinion letter and a summary judgment motion), plue a couple of teleconferences for a change of scene! Luckily, my husband (also a biglaw associate -- though he's moved to a more humane firm) got home early-ish tonight and got supper in the oven. Can't complain too much, as I had the weekend off -- though I guess it's also a little sad that it's so rare not to have to work at least one of the two days.

When the weather is nicer, I usually do manage to sneak out to walk a bit in the middle of the day -- but it's so cold right now I'm not really tempted unless there's an errand I need to run. Spring is around the corner, however -- looking forward that for sure!


Starting Weight: 268 lbs. (November 2010)
Quasi-Maintenance: 165 lbs. (June 2011)
Goal Weight: 150 lbs. (reached December 8, 2011)

Size 22W to Size 4

Currently maintaining within 5 lbs. (+ or -) of goal. I weigh daily, but also use a tape measure and the fit of my clothes to guage how well I'm doing.

Hi, team,
I am taking the morning off (sort of) and will attend and adoption of two children. I was the prosecuting attorney in the permanent custody case. It to two and one half years. Relatives kept stepping up (good thing), but Children Services did not clear them for placement, the court gave one of the relations custody, and one year later they brought the children back to Children Services with a voluntary placement. Anyway, those two children are being adopted today by their foster parents. I rarely see the adoptions because I am in my home county conducting hearings.

This will be sweet.

Meanwhile, I have done 10 minutes of walking in place, ate my oatmeal, and will shovel the snow so I can get my car out!!

This is a great idea! I'll do my best to remember to check in everyday.

I'm sitting here with my morning coffee reviewing Criminal Procedure in preparation for more questions later this morning and another simulated MBE exam on Saturday.

We're doing a pot roast for dinner that I'm going to do in the crockpot. The recipe is out of one of my low carb cookbooks. It's called Pork with Cabbage (and celery and carrots). I'll let you know how it turns out!

Off to continue to study the Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Amendments! I hope you all have a fabulous day.

Good morning team!
In an effort to get more action going on the lawyers team, I thought we could start a daily check in. Whoever gets here first in the morning starts the discussion. Talk about your plans for the day and what healthy choices you will make or have made!

I got up early and did a workout off of the Coach Nicole's Total Body Sculpting dvd. It was fun and challenging. Now eating my overnight oats and drinking coffee before I get the crew up. Going to be a busy day here. I have court in one county in the morning and another county (two counties away-1.5 hours) in the afternoon. Ugh! Will have to stay focused at lunch. I always want to oink out on busy days.
