Basketweave is just about as bad. But there's a light at the end of the tunnel....Only a hundred rows left! Woot!

Blessed be.

I made an afghan once it was back when I was in high school that was all seed stitch. Took me forever to get it done!

Seed stitch is gorgeous, but like ribbing, it is SO tedious to do!

Strangest springtime weather I've ever seen in CO. It's sunny & bright right now and I'm wearing a sleeveless shirt. Yesterday, I bought a sleeveless vest at a yardsale because I was cold.

I'm still plugging away at the birdseed scarf. I may never do seed stitch again!

May all sentient beings be happy!

Right now our weather is cold enough that it doesn't matter! But by midweek it's supposed to be close to 90. I wish it would make up its mind....

Blessed be.

I'm thinking of doing a traditional granny square afghan because I've got a lot of odds and ends yarn and I won't have to deal with a hot and heavy afghan right now.

I pulled out the basketweave afghan and am trying to finish the dang thing up. I went out and bought some yarn today for the first time in a long time to make an afghan for my nephew's wedding present. I've been doing good on not buying yarn, but trying to use up some of my stash.

Blessed be.

Okay, I seriously need to have my head examined. This morning my afghan suddenly decided it needed a fifth panel. I have enough of all of the colors, but it'll take awhile longer to do. On the up-side, I'll be able to cover up totally under it when it's (finally) done.

You know, of all the things to knit, I think I like homemade socks the best! I just finished another pair. This time, I used soft, woolly Sisik yarn and did them up in a basketweave pattern.

I'm going back to work on my birdseed scarf today. Seed stitch looks so nice but I have to keep rechecking the work I've done so far to make sure I don't do a K where a P belongs and mess up the whole thing!

May all sentient beings be happy!

Just bought some really soft bamboo yarn with a touch of some other fibers to make a light afghan for the summer, more of a lap blanket, for those days that my skin/nerves hurt and soft touch helps me feel better. Like petting a cat.

I've started doing baby blankies and kids' sweaters to donate. I'm never going to have grandchildren (long story) so the things I would have made for them go to charity. There's a mattress store chain here in CA (I don't know if they've elsewhere or not) called Sleep Train. They periodically have drives to collect things for kids in foster care. I suspect hand-made sweaters would be appreciated.

I'm thinking about making things for the NICU babies again. I was looking at the premie booties on Ravelry last night and they're just so tiny and sweet...

Like I need more temptation! I finished my dishcloth cotton sweater yesterday. I've washed and dryer-ed the thing and I actually like the slightly shrunken fit. I do NOT like how linty it got or the distinct color change from front to back (courtesy of my not getting all one dye lot) but I can wear it around the house. It's just right for these spring days when it's chilly in the morning.

May all sentient beings be happy!

I hate when that happens!

I always make my baby blankies unisex. That way they can potentially be passed to a younger sibling or other child of the opposite sex.

I am working on a boy's baby blanket and I need to frog the sleeves back on my cardigan. They are not even and the ribbing is too loose.

I tend towards the fast and easy projects. I want my instant gratification!

Just came in from the front porch where I finished the first half of my Sugar 'n Cream sweater! I got right through the third-to-the end stitch when I had to join another ball. I probably should've ripped it back to make the join at the end, but I was just too stubborn to do it!

In the last couple of weeks I made a scarf and a ribbed stocking cap, now have a couple of crochet afghans going. Only UFO from before is the pair of socks for the boyo (otherwise known as my son John Joseph). I'm in the stash challenge for the knitters group, and I told myself I wouldn't buy any more yarn until after April, which means the shawl that's half done will have to wait a couple of weeks! Maybe.

I'm currently wearing the monster socks I finished knitting yesterday. I belong to the monster socks group on Ravelry, but I don't have enough sock leftovers to make another pair of socks with my leftovers (yet) so I knitted these out of acrylic leftovers. It was a bit of an experiment on my part. I wanted to see how acrylic would function as socks, if the magic knots at the color changes would hold up, and what it would feel to get socks knitted up really fast.

So far, I've learned that the socks feel just fine on my feet, that they fit comfortably into my athletic shoes, and that I really enjoyed making a pair of socks so quickly.

May all sentient beings be happy!

Still working on my entrelac afghan. The joining panels are a very dense pattern and it's hard on my hands, so I have to take frequent breaks.

I finished my dolman sleeved sweater yesterday! I like it except that it's so heavy! It's got a boat neck, and I think I may add some single crochet around the neckline just to keep it from slipping off my shoulders.

What's everybody else doing now?

Yeah, tell that little voice to get its own d****d clothes!

I've started working the joining panels on the afghan. It's great but the stitches are so dense I have to take a break every so often or my hands will hurt.

I finished Rod's socks yesterday and began a crocheted top with dolman sleeves. I don't know why I'm so pessimistic about the top, but I'm afraid it's not going to fit or will look goofy on me. I have this little voice in my head telling me I'd be better off just buying a top off the rack--at least, I could try it on and see how it looks right off the bat!

Deborah, I want to see ALL your projects!

I started a Bird Seed scarf. It's all seed stitch and then you embroider simple bird outlines on it. I'm not sure if I'll do the embroidery, though, because the seed stitch looks so pretty.

May all sentient beings be happy!

Currently, I am crocheting a spiral bottom vessel with woolease yarn so I can felt it. Right now it is about 7 inches across the bottom, and I am not sure how tall it will be, especially since it will be felted.

I am also knitting a scarf, and have a few other small projects done, things where I am learning new stitiches.

Also learning to spin with a drop spindle. And plan to start making dolls.
And working on a free form crochet - and I am not sure what it really will be yet, as I am letting the yarn dictate my course of action with it.

Don't remind me! My first lace shawl had me using language that would make a drill sergeant blush.

emoticon Just think of the individuality of that sock now! It's worse when you mess up lace.

Blessed be.

Can't wait to see the shawls!

Went to st*tch and b*tch this morning. I'm still on DH's socks and I noticed I did 4 P where there should be 4 K because I was talking so much! I can live with that; another lady messed up her lace pattern.

I finished the shawl for my daughter. This one needed to be blocked, so I did it at my friend's house who has a spare bed I could use. I can't wait to see it when its done...She's bringing it over on Friday. Hopefully it will be dry by then.

I"ve started another shawl for my friend who has for the pastcouple of years, cleaned my house for me for very little money. I am disabled so this was a great blessing. She is moving away to Pittsburgh to be with her daughters so I'm losing a friend and a cleaning lady. I"m making a prayer shawl for her. IT out of turquoise and purple loopy bouclee (Is that how you spell it??)...It's a soft bulky yarn on size 11 needles so it is going fast.

I will post pics of the shawl I made for my daughter once I get it back.

Crocheted another embroidery floss bird yesterday. I just love these things, but that floss is a pain in the aspidistra!

Today, I'm back to working on DH's socks.

I just started this morning on my second readers shawl. This one is for my daughter who fell in love with the first one I made so she bought some yarn : Knit Picks, wool of the Andes, tweed in heather color. It should be very nice. I like the yarn she got better than the stuff i used for mine but that's okay. Mine is a cotton yarn which I bought for its washability. I tend to be a slob and figured I would need to wash it.

I finished the hand towel I made but just need to block it because the ends are curling up a bit.

Your DH is a lucky guy!

Maybe you could knit him some socks with steel wool? emoticon

Last evening, I cast on to knit my first pair of men's socks. These will be for my DH. I have a terrible suspicion that they won't last too long--most of his socks don't--but they will be awfully pretty while they do! I'm using some yarn I bought from a stash on Ravelry, and this is my favorite sock yarn so far, Regia Kaffe Fassett.

That scarf is so easy it's embarassing! I did the crocheted version and followed the directions I found here www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PD24ht4j8s
I'm a little uneasy about it because it looks like if it caught on something it would just pull apart.

I started a red one for me at our stitch & bitch group this morning and I'm only halfway done because I talked so much!
