I thought I was in the minority in not liking the TRACKER. I wanted a pedometer that tracked my steps. This is so far off the mark. Too much trouble to send back. I threw mine on the floor and danced on it, figured that was exercise for the day. Bev.

I wore the Spark Tracker and Fitbit together the past few days. The Tracker counts less steps but gives me more miles (4 miles for 1000 steps).....and, the tracker gives me very high fitness minutes, 277 for one day. I wonder if it count movement in the car?

I have worn in on my bra and clipped to my jeans pocket. Wearing it on my shoe is not convenient as I don't wear the same shoes all the time, and I usually am barefoot in the house.

It does work fairly well in the pool. However, I will be sending it back. I like the software and reports page on SP so maybe there will be improvements in the future.

I think the main difference between this & the Fitbit is the battery. My Fitbit battery lasted 5 months. Since it was only suppose to last three I can't complain. But when I did go out and buy a new battery I couldn't get it to work. I had trouble removing the old one, trouble putting in the new one and even then it just wouldn't work. I'm hoping I'll have better luck with the Spark Tracker.

I walked 2 miles today and it showed 24 steps. I tried wearing it on my sock, bra, waist and show. Terrible results. One day 0 steps and0 everything and my other pedometer recorded 3515 steps. I exercised for 60 min and still no results. Yes, have to tap it many times to get it to move. Have downloaded the system twice and same results. I e-mailed help but no one returned my e-mail. Bev

I'm not liking my tracker at all. The dongle stops working at all ... no light, so I have to reinstall the software all of the time. When it does sync, it takes far to long to upload the data, and then more time to include any fitness calories burned. I also have to wear it on my foot to get it to record anything accurately. I'm going to start using my Fitbit again because it was accurate and synced as soon as I got near the dongle. It also syncs with my phone.

I'm sorry so many people had trouble. The only problem I've had so far is that it doesn't always respond to being tapped.

I am happy to say that I have had no problems with my SAT. Well... sometimes it won't record my information and I have to shut the program down and then re-start, then it will record again. But it is recording properly.

KNIT1PURL2LOSE3 - I agree with you 100%. I m ready to heave my tracker. I wear an OMRON pedometer and it records all my steps. I wore the tracker on Sunday on my rt shoe, just like they suggested, walked (according to my OMRON 2415 step) my Tracker showed 0. Then I went grocery shopping on Monday and wore the tracker on my waist and after shopping for 60 min and going up every single aisle in COSTCO it registered 163 steps and my OMRON registered 3519. Either we got lemons or something is amiss. I have e-mailed the support team for help and they never responded. Bev

New : Yesterday it took me 20mins. around the park counted 20 minutes 2-10 mins.activity. Right on the money. Today walk 18mins. by the tracker counted as a cycle workout. Must walk slightly faster today. Only counted 1- 10 mins. activity. Very happy with Spark Tracker:) I am just happy it counts the steps. Bought a lot of pedometers that don't work. Nothing perfect it helps to have idea and not be a couch potato! Placing tracker inside my bra so I don't lose it. Surprise it working so well. I don't know why I waited so long.

I continue to be highly disappointed with the "accuracy" of this SAT. I just changed the battery a couple of days ago, even though it doesn't get worked very hard. I am mobility challenged, and struggle to reach 2000 steps a day according to the SAT. So it sure seemed to wear out that first battery quickly with as little use as it got.

But the battery isn't a huge deal, except for how difficult it is to change the battery if you have any sort of grip issues, which I do. This thing is obviously NOT made for the handicapped.

I've counted steps and tested this thing in the past, and it came up woefully short. Today I decided to give it another valid test. A very valid test.

Our deck is 26 feet wide and 12 feet deep, which totals 75 feet to walk one lap around the periphery. This means 1k is 44 laps.

Since itís such a gorgeous day, I decided to walk 0.25k, or 11 laps, and count my steps (to check my Spark Activity Tracker) and to check my time and see how it felt.

I was able to complete it. Took 6 minutes. It was certainly enough to do while I am currently sick.

I checked my SAT immediately prior to stepping out onto the deck. My tracker had 100 steps on it before commencing the deck walk. I counted 560 steps for my 0.25 k, so my tracker SHOULD be reading 660 steps right now. It doesnít. It reads 436 steps. Which means this thing is WAY off and I canít rely on it at all. So I might be getting a less expensive analog pedometer. I got this thing to track my steps, so thatís disappointing how inaccurate it is.

It's only tracking 66% of my steps!!! I had it on my right shoe, following all the protocols for where it should be and how it's fastened etc.

50 bucks for something that's 33% WRONG? I'm so disappointed I can't even tell you. There is either something entirely defective with this particular one, or the SAT just doesn't track steps accurately.

I'm going to toss this and go buy an analog pedometer. What a waste of 50 bucks on the SAT!

With me it seems to count all my steps. I'm happy with it and am sure I will adjust to the differences to Fitbit over time. I do look forward to trying it out while swimming.

I wore my tracker on a hairband on my ankle during swimming today. I was in the pool about 90 minutes and it counted 65 minutes of continuous activity. I was wrong in my last post, apparently the tracker counts ALL steps, but only counts "fitness activity" in 10 minute increments. That's why I only got 65 minutes in swimming since I was not always moving my legs. This is ok with me as I can add in the additional minutes. I am happy to get all the steps when in the water.

I really can't compare to my Fitbit as it does not work in the water. I will do a test walk later this week to see how they compare on dry land. That is, if my Fitbit is working - I just found it attached to my jeans that I washed and dried! It appears to be working, but we'll see! emoticon

I just got the Tracker on sale and used it for half a day yesterday. I loved Fitbit and am hoping this is similar but with a longer battery life. I'm not sure what the comments mean about not counting steps. I thought that was just not counting activity as a workout unless you do at least 10 minutes straight.Well I'll see.

Have a great day everyone!!!!

Is it in the stars that the trackers will have a pause time say 10 to 15 secs. when you stop?? My shoe came untied while I was walking and I had to stop to tie it so my 10 min walk didn't count! Then I had to go to the bathroom during my walk... and again I lost the steps. Any way the powers that be could fix it so that it will give a pause?? Thank you!!!

Why doesn't the Spark Activity Tracker record the calories and minutes on our online daily exercise tracker? I did hours of walking last Friday and even though the tracker shows it, it doesn't show as exercise for the day. Does that make sense?

Everything happens for a reason!

10/8/08 - 2/20/09: Reached my first weight loss goal of 20 lbs!
It really works!

2/20/09 - Working on my next & maybe last 10 lbs.

4/17/09 - Five more pounds to go!

6/19/09 - I did it!
30 lbs total lost!
Wooooot!
Now for maintenance!

I had that problem I had to actually hold it in front of the port and sync tap it 4 times until it goes around in lights steady not pulsing. I walked all day and it showed 34 steps until I did that.

Now this morning have not done much when I came on to track my breakfast showed 64 steps so will sync it at the end of the day.

Hi - I just go my discounted tracker and will compare it with my Fitbit which I will wear at the same time. I bought this one since it was inexpensive compared to the Fitbit (I am on my 3rd on, keep putting them through the washer). This will be a backup for me. Also, I read the swimming thread and am looking forward to trying it during water aerobics and water jogging.

I am disappointed to hear that it wipes out steps if you don't do at least ten minutes. I have another pedometer that counts all steps, but also gives you additional activity for every 10 continuous minutes. I like that better - it provides you with the incentive to get that continuous activity, but does count all steps.

I will evaluate this for a while and let you know how it compares to the Fitbit, except I won't be taking the Fitbit swimming.... emoticon

Hey, be sure and take it easy on that muscle! If you push it too much today, you may be out of commission for a longer period of time. Take care of yourself!

Today I was putting up a shower rod in the bathroom and stepped on the step ladder wrong and it tipped over. I heard a loud pop in my gluteal muscle and excruciating pain! Being the jock that I am, I didn't go to the ER. Instead of took a couple tylenol and now I'm icing it for 20 mins every couple of hours... OUCH! Hurts like crazy. I hope I can get some more steps in tonight! :(

I have lost a total of 90lb. I am 28 pounds away from my goal weight. With the help of God, and fellow friends, I will loose 10 more before the end of the year! I will be walking again today.
