Cream of wheat, frozen blueberries, splash of milk, banana, tea, hardboiled egg. It worked well for my BG yesterday so I'm trying it again today.

Thanks Patrick, I know it's a biggie for me...especially with foods that I love, like pepperoni pizza, spaghetti, sausages...most anything with big fat, big carbs, and big taste! What typically happens with me is I do ok with "healthy food" for a week or three and then I crave the big tastes so much that I just give up on healthy and go on a huge binge, and eat all of the things I've been trying to avoid...then it takes me forever to get back to trying "healthy" again. It took me almost exactly a year this last time. I hope I can find some recipes that will provide the flavors I crave without all the negatives that go along with eating full calorie meals.

GJCAB09, of all of the obstacles to overcome when you make the decision to be healthier person, the 'more is better' in my opinion is the toughest! But it is a fight worth having -- once you can get your body to understand what you are doing, good things will happen. Stick with it....

Shopping day today, the fridge is kind of bare, so it's down to toast with peanut butter, orange, 100% cranberry juice blend, a banana. Will have to get my calcium at lunch at the restaurant, I guess : ) (ice cream? whipped cream? cheesecake? Just kidding ; (

A bowl of Corn Chex (according to portion suggestions for once!) with a cup of milk, 70 g frozen blueberries, a cup of Barry's Irish tea with creamer and sweetener at appropriate levels (I'm working hard to overcome the 'more is better' philosophy of eating.

5.5 oz V-8 Low Sodium Vegetable Juice, 1 Thomas WW Bagel Thin, 1 t mustard, 1 T mayo, 4 oz tuna, 1 oz lower sodium American cheese, 1 tomato. I mix the tuna and mayo, spread it over the toasted bagel thin, then top it with a slice of tomato and a slice of American cheese, then broil it for 5 minutes. Tuna is not for everyone in the morning, but I love the protein burst I get out of it -- really gets the day off on the right foot!

I spread some "forgotten" flax seeds on my waffles this morning. Not sure I really like the change in taste. I bought the flax when stocking the pantry for improving the cholesterol numbers. Now that I have dropped some excess weight, I'm hoping the cholesterol is in range when tested in May. Operating under that assumption, I'm trying to figure out the best way to still sneak the flax seeds into my diet. I'm really, "really" lazy when it comes to meal prep, so looking for the quick prep where the flax doesn't corrupt my taste buds.

Reward breakfast to celebrate having run a full 10k course yesterday : )
A variation on the Dr. Oz breakfast muffin: 1 whole wheat English muffin spread with an eighth of an avocado on each half. Layer half a slice of swiss cheese on each, top with whole egg, over easy (no-fat fried). Serve with a slice and a half of reduced-salt bacon and some cherry tomatoes, half an orange, glass of 1% milk and a multivitamin. About 50% more calories than I normally eat for breakfast, and put me over for the day's cholesterol count, but sodium AOK for one meal and protein/carb proportion good. I'll just eat sparingly for the rest of the day. The trade-off was worth it : )

I saw that Weight Watcher's item at Wal-mart yesterday and was tempted. But I'm concerned about the sodium in all of the frozen stuff I eat. How tasty was it?

Switching over to what I anticipate will be my Sun Run day breakfast: yogurt, honey, granola bar, half an orange, 4 oz 100% cranberry-blend juice, multivitamin. Still not *quite* enough carbs and still a little too much fat for Galloway. Best switch to fat-free yogurt and maybe add some nuts.

8 oz glass of tomato juice, 2 eggs over easy, 4 oz pork chop, 3 oz breakfast potatoes, 1/2 english muffin. We went out for breakfast and the beauty of this place is the portions, so I brought home 1/2 of above (less the eggs and tomato juice) for breakfast tomorrow!

4 oz of canned tuna (drained), mixed with 1 TB of Kraft Mayo made with olive oil, then on a Thomas WW Bagel thin, a tomato and two slices of Land O Lakes reduced sodium American cheese. I toast the bagel first, then the whole mess goes under the broiler for a few minutes. Great way to jump start the proteins (43 grams!).

Old Faithful yogurt and berries *again*. This is getting boring. I think tomorrow I'll have an egg-white-only scramble, maybe even with a little cheese. m-mm-mmm!

Warmed up some leftovers from dinner last Friday evening: 4.5 oz sirloin steak, 2 oz roasted potatoes, grilled veggies, then had a two egg cheese omlette and a Thomas 100% WW bagel thin. A little heartier than normal (even for me!), but it'll be the fuel for a good run at lunch today!

JACKH35, it comes from an Amish store just down the road from us here in DE. While I don't recall any Amish stores in Colorado, I have to believe some natural food store in the Denver/Boulder/Ft. Collins area must make fresh ground peanut butter...

Had a pretty normal breakfast today since I was a bit tired of the oatmeal and blueberries I had for the last three days. So, I had a couple of real eggs, scrambled with a slice of low fat cheese and topped it with some Herdez Salsa. Also a slice of dark rye toast and a big glass of OJ. No meat or spuds.

PLMITCH ,where do you get the fresh ground peanut butter?

5.5 oz V8 low sodium vegetable juice, 1 Thomas WW Bagel Thin, smear of fresh ground peanut butter (the stuff is amazing and so much better than commercially made peanut butter!), 6 oz Dannon Light and Fit Strawberry Yogurt, 1 cup of fresh frozen strawberries.
