Daughter and I made choc chip cookies yesterday. I allowed myself to lick the spatula clean (it was scraped pretty clean to begin with). I was able to avoid the cookies by bagging them and putting them in the freezer. Out of sight, out of mind sort of thing.

Did pretty well. We had an Honors Academy reception and I managed to resist all the tempting dessert, allowing myself one mini cheesecake bite. I stuck with my planned snack of carrots and peanut butter in the afternoon which helped resist the temptation to have more than one.

I have skipped my am snack the last couple of days (trying to further reduce calories), Afternoon snack was larger than normal, Clif bar and string cheese.

I am reassigning ice cream eaten within 5 minutes of the end of dinner to the dinner category. So, no nightime snack today!

I had carrots with a little peanut butter for my afternoon snack and just a half cup of ice cream and a red bean pancake for my evening snack. I'm really please with how well I've been controlling my snacking. I haven't even tried to over fill my small ice cream bowl yet

Sat and Sunday I topped off my day with McDonald's ice cream. Not the dipped kind, the sundae or even those tempting mocha, frocha, bocha sirens from the left side of the building.

So, ice cream at the end of the day is in a weird way sorta like my water first thing in the am. It's on the schedule! Maybe I need to google "snack" to see if I fall under some exotic exception.

Lately, I've been doing very well with my snacking and keeping within my range. Today I had half a cup of ice cream and a red bean pancake snack. We'll be taking a long car trip later this week and that will be the first big test since getting back on track.

Today was me "day off" and I over did it. I feel like I'm at overeater's anonymous saying that. But... alas, it's true. Not my normal MO as it was a office party so I'm giving myself a break. BUT tomorrow I have plans for a run so I'd better make good.

I record everything I eat between breakfast and lunch or between lunch and dinner as Snack, and it typically adds up to be as big as a meal. (After dinner, I record as "Evening" because I want to track that separately.)

Today's Snack added up to 520 calories, consisting of apples, almonds, grapes, carrots, strawberries, and atomic fireballs. (For those not familiar with junk, atomic fireballs are cinnamon flavored jawbreaker candies, at 35 calories of essentially pure sugar per piece.)

I'll confess, I had an ice cream cone after lunch but I'm still well within my range. One of the student organizations I advice had an ice cream social so I had to be social :-)

Hmm, not exactly a "confession", but.....

mid morning: two string cheese sticks and 2nd cup of coffee

afternoon snack: protein shake w/skim milk

pre workout: C4

post workout: accelerade mixed sport drink (120 calories)

after dinner: ice cream sandwich, I'll have dessert every evening without fail, this one is 150 calories

so, more info than you probably wanted, but I have several snacks daily (I didn't bore you with my two part breakfast!)

I managed to keep it healthy with a Chobani yogurt in the am and a dill pickle and some peanuts (20). Evening is coming on - traditionally when I'm at my weakest to resist snacking. I.... will...... resist....
