Visiting this site makes me remember that I am a never ending project for good health. Every day is a challenge to be addressed. Spark helps a lot! Communications with others of a similar mind is very effective.

Ditto. I started using SparkPeople for tracking calories and learning how to diet for weight loss. Once I reached my goal weight, I stopped logging in. Needless to say I gained most of the weight back. I returned for the same reasons but over the years it became more than just a weight loss app. Today SparkPeople is a vital part of my health and wellness routine. One of the most important revelations is understanding the concept of "Health and Wellness" and all that it entails; particularly, the physio-psycho-social relationship.

I feel the same way. Even if I only use SP for the food and activity tracking, I feel like I'm doing something positive and healthy to maintain my weight loss. I know I could do more, but I'm grateful for the site. The friendships I've made here are a bonus that I cherish.

I agree it is absolutely the secret for me. I come here every day and stay aware of what I'm doing. When I stop coming here, I quickly lose my way and the pounds creep back and my fitness deteriorates. It is truly a blessing and especially so when I think back to the days long ago when I tried writing my activities and calories in a notebook and quickly lost interest with no support system to keep me going. This is so much easier and more accessible. Good thought!

Over the years, I have had points where I really wondered if just accumulating points and having a few virtual friendships was worth it. But lately, I see a gradual weight loss over years, an increased awareness of health oriented techniques from being on the site, and realize there can be a great deal of generosity and friendship through these words that we type in. I say, "Thanks to you all, and thanks to Spark for making it possible." This is actually a REAL gift to all of us. Glenn
