Hi,

Good news. I have been eating healthy for the past three days. I spend a lot of time on tracking my calories but i am happy, it already paid off.

Hope everyone is doing great emoticon

I'm 'new' to SP, Again. Did it before, then let it all go. Starting over, I have a support group I meet with once a week, thought I could use all the help I can get. Everything is a challenge for me. Exercising, food choices, etc. I need to get the brain to 'click' on again. I have regained and been stalled at current weight for a very long time. this group seems like a friendly active group, I am so glad you all are here!

Me, Myself and I, are responsible for all the choices we make, no matter the outcome.

Member me?! LOL

I'm finally back!!

I have now been at Cracker Barrel for 6 1/2 months now!

At 39 years old, bein' a waitress does not come as easy as it once did!

I'm off every Mon-Tues and work 5PM - Close * Wed - thru Sunday.

Work and being so TIRED after work brought my weight-loss journey to a screaming halt!

My days off are spent cleaning, doin' laundry, running errands and going to grocery store.

I have got to work at finding a balance again and fitting in exercise and healthy eating.

*GETTING BACK ON TRACK*~

Starting Weight: 168.6 (I'm up from 167.0)

Weigh-In Day : On Sunday's

(I started my journey a year ago at 196.6)

First Goal to Reach: 155.5 lbs

This will let me know what's going on with my body.
I will not know until there if I can then maintain and tone.

I have a feeling I will have to lose a little more.

This week has started off rough!

I had to help with bills so I have not been able to get the grocery visit accomplished.

I'm shopping in spurts due to money issues..

My hubby loses his job of 21 years on Aug. 27th... (The company is going under and closing.) Stress is high.

Gotta still have dreams and goals though to stay sane, right?

to ole friends and NEW ones!

Sara we are so glad you came back to us! We are here for you and completely understand. I stumble often and have to dust off my knees and start again. That is why this works so well. It is a lifestyle change, not a diet. Just recognizing you are an emotional eater is a huge step as well as sharing here with the team. I am a big time emotional eater ( though really working through this) and know how hard this is.

Know that you are not alone. We are changing our lives together one healthy habit at a time. Just start fresh, with baby steps. emoticon

Hi Everyone,

I have not been so active for the past couple of months. I had some challenges and I totally lost the control on my food and exercises.

I mostly gained what I have lost :(((((( It is so sad to say that but I should face it. I think here I can be really honest with myself .I think right now my eating habits are more emotional. That's too bad because first I don't enjoy what I eat and I feel guilty after, secondly because I don't eat healthy food and I can't track the intake calories. Anytime I am alone, I am thinking about eating. It's like that I am ashamed of eating in public.

I know if I loose a little of what I gained I will be back on track. I need my self confidence back and here is the best place I can look for it. My bf is so supportive but I need more support from the people who knows what challenges we are going through.

I really hope for a change by writing here instead of eating !! I was just thinking about what I can eat and I just remembered I should come back to the circle again.

Thank you for being here

Sara

Hi, I too am a returnee. Had great success before on this site as it made me accountable to myself. My advice to newbies would be to log everything that passes your lips. It is very easy to miss that tsp of sugar you added to your coffee or that 1/2 a banana you added to your oatmeal. I keep a sheet of paper and pen in my kitchen so I don't need to try to remember later when I get around to logging on here. Drink lots of water, this will help and you need the water to help with the hopefully added Fibre you are consuming now. Above all keep your goals realistic and don't beat yourself up if you slip. Remember our added weight did not come on instantly and we can't lose it instantly either. I am back as I have developed some health issues and trying to avoid taking prescription drugs for cholesterol and determined to get back down to my goal weight.

Always be a first-rate version of yourself, Instead of being the second.

Paula

Hi, everyone. I need some help. I've gain three pounds this week. I haven't exercised at all ... other than on Sunday when I took my girls and their friend to the zoo and walked for 6 hours. I've enjoyed Mike's Hard Lemonade (four of them in two days), and I've eaten a slice of pizza. I've skipped Jeet Kune Do class, and my strength training. I confess, I am mildly bipolar (if you can be mildly), and even though I take medication, I can feel myself falling down into that sad place. I need some cheerleaders. I need to lift again, and walk again, and go to class again -- NOW! Please help me get through this.

hello everyone. I am a returnee. I have learned many things form this site, including how to make out a great nutritional plan to floow daily. I print it out once, and then use the "copy" button to change days. it helps me to meet all my nutritional goals. This is my third time, so I really need encouragement. I'm 67 too, and this does not help, I'm sure. I want o do this with a sense of humore instead of dread ! help me make it through my day !

Never , never give up !

Sorry you are struggling. Sometimes we get so busy that taking time to count calories is a challenge. I then try to use the plate rule. 1/2 the plate should be veggies. 1/4 for meat and the other 1/4 for starch. That has helped me stay on target while traveling and such.

Be sure to get your water in as well. It makes the difference.

Hang in there. We are here routing for you. emoticon

Ok, first report;
10,000 steps ; 350 calories
350 calorie : less calorie intake.

I need to burn 10500 - 700 = 9800 calories to get to my goal.

Hi,

I have been so busy during the past couple of weeks and I couldn't do any workouts. My weight was jumping around between 154-157.

In one hand I am afraid of not seeing any weight loss during the past week and I am afraid of loosing my hope. On the other hand, I remember two months ago when I was 10 pounds heavier and I was able to break my plateau.

I need help and support to keep my positive mind. I have decided to count down the calories I burn. My plan is to loose 3 pounds in 10 days which means 10,500 calories.

My plan is to do any activities that burns calories, swimming, walking and the most important one less calorie intake.

I will keep you posted about my plan.

I'll second her thoughts. I try to do all those same things. In addition, I have a workout plan and a menu in place for each week. I have Tuesdays off so that is my shop day. My menu runs from Tuesday to Monday. I pull out the family calendar to see who has to be where. Did out my Spark cookbook and other recipes and plan away. This menu also includes my daily snacks.

I have a card file for my all my work outs. I also have those planned out for the week. That way I know what I am doing each day.

Water is tough. I get so busy and just forget if I don't plan. So each morning, I weigh myself. Divide my weight in half. That tells me how much water I need to plan for the day. I have two containers and fill them accordingly and off to work I go. I brew one cup of tea to go with lunch. The rest of the day, I pour the pre-measured water into my cup. I usually get all my water in before leaving work.

All those things make a difference. The key is small steps and building up like suggested below.

We are here to cheer you on! emoticon

Hi TCMAKEUP,

I can hear and feel your frustration. I get a little overwhelmed with all the things I need to do to reach my health goals. I don't have many answers other than what worked for me when I first started my journey. I think starting with small steps is key to getting a new pattern started. I started with what I felt I could do consistently. I liked watching TV in the evening, but knew that I was sitting too much. I started marching while watching my favorite shows. It really helped me get a ton of steps in each night that I other wise would not have taken.

With food I made little rules for myself. My first rule was that if I wanted something sweet, I had to make it. I no longer allowed myself to buy muffins, donuts or scones, so if I really wanted one I had to find a healthy recipe and make them myself. I also made a rule that if I wanted chips or fries I could have a single serving once a week, baked not fried.

Some other suggestions which could help with not feeling as tired would be to drink plenty of water, take a multi-vitamin and a fish oil or flax oil supplement (with your doctors approval of course) or eat foods high in Omega 3. Gradually switching the white flour items in your diet to whole wheat/ whole grain items (Breads, Rice, Pasta) can help. Eating within an hour of waking can kick start your metabolism. Doubling the amount of non starchy - vegetables you eat, and decreasing all other carbohydrates by half, can help stabilize your blood sugar level and help with your energy level too.

I'm sure you have heard most of this before, but the goal is small consistent changes. Finding things that you like to do. Taking time for yourself, because you are worth it!

I am tired of being tired. The doctor has said I can go back to the gym starting Monday. Will begin walking again, just not with the incline. My problem is that I can't seem to do the exercise and the eating right all at one time. I tend to do one or the other, but not both.

Any suggestions on how to stay on track and not get discouraged.
