53. searched for and found a journal that has paper thick enough so that I can use gel pens for my autumn bullet journal. (I want to loosen up and be more spontaneous in its pages this season.)

52. called my CO friend, and had a conversation of a reasonable length. (We usually go for 5-6 hours at a time, a few times a year. This was much better.)

51. played MTG with my son in the afternoon.

50. made a nice lemon chicken dinner

49. researched CBD stuff as it relates to my skin and mood issues. I'm cautiously hopeful.

48. changed plans so I could accompany Hubs to trivia (his other teammates were not going to be there). We won second place + a round of music bingo so it was a no-cost date in the end. (Wish it could always be just the two of us.)

47. washed and dried all my laundry (I was out of favorite clothes)

46. cleaned & reorganized the laundry room

45. took my future daughter-in-law shopping for some bonding time

44. In the wake of the crazy re-typing an entire published novel project, I went back to my own story yesterday.

It. Went. Better!!!

I learned so much about what NOT to sweat. I "remembered" that the pace of writing is glacial compared to the speed of reading ... and how being so zoomed in on one section can lead to worry about things that are invisible to the reader.

37. Spoiled my sick son a little by going on a second grocery store run to get him frozen pizza.

36. Continued transcribing (and learning).

35. Drank my water and my tea.

34. Did a few minutes of casual essentrics.

33. Went to Trivia with Hubs, which made him happy.

32. Spoke to a family member that I'm not estranged with. We're working on finding out more about our genealogical line on my grandmother's side. Tough to find documents, by she is doing a good job.

31. Just checked my stats to better understand why I'm so off track these days.

I rate the severity of my psoriasis condition daily on a 1-5 scale.
1 = can't think about anything else
5 = don't hardly notice it / it's gone
In the last 63 days, I've had 47 days of level 2 or worse.
(A couple of 4s & no 5s.).
Today is a 3.

30. I'm back to drinking my Prime tea, water, etc.

29. I'm trying to get more sleep, and have a more reasonable bedtime. I managed 2a last night.

28. Last week, I did a deep dive into researching my psoriasis and put together a better self-care kit for managing it.

27. So, what I HAVE been doing is just plain nuts. I am transcribing a published book, by an author I like, in the genre I'm supposed to be working in, into Scrivener. I'm typing it out, scene-by-scene, word-for-word.

I have already learned so much!!! (Including the fact that I'm waaay too hard on myself.)

26. I've been going to the local writer meeting on Mondays.

19. Got up early both days this weekend and went to be on time two days in a row.

18. Decided to only watch the one match on the SummerSlam card I was interested in on Sunday (instead of sitting through the whole thing just for that match). This might be how I watch the special events from now on.

17. Watched NXT Takeover on Saturday.

16. Had a day where I did everything on my optional list this weekend. Decided to keep them optional, since doing them all every day is unreasonable :P

05. I'm on my third day of drastically cutting my diet pepsi intake and replacing it with water, coffee, tea, and that Prime tea that I was using (to good effect) last summer.

04. I am slowly putting my routines back together after neglecting pretty much all of them for a month.

03. I bought myself some sexy lounge-wear that minimizes the appearance of the parts I don't much like and flatters the bits that are A-OK. (And I had to get creative, because the stuff they want to sell you as lingerie is just cheap looking and uncomfortable.)

02. I replaced my dying and unreliable Fitbit.

01. I reset the goals ... and only two days late :)

NOTE: there is a more detailed discussion of the purpose of keeping track of positive steps (aka successes) at "Why keep a Success Journal?" in the Health & Wellness Resources Forum.

------------
Positive Steps / Success Journal

If we don't give ourselves credit for our successes, who will? This game requires a self-nurturing, generous mindset. Any day that includes a positive step toward being a fitter, healthier, more productive writer / artist should be worth at least one step!

HOW TO PLAY:

Anyone on the team, at any time, can come to this thread and make note of one (or more) positive step(s) they took. Ideally each step will be in the direction of better health and more productivity.

Each step will be numbered. The first person to post will take the first step and number it as "1)". The next person to post would number their step as THE NEXT CONSECUTIVE NUMBER. So If you come in and see that, say, 10 steps have already been taken by teammates, you would list your step as #11.

Here are some ideas for steps. (Your step does not need to be original or unique ... If you are journaling once a week, you could take a step for the team each week with the same task. Does that make sense?)

Examples:
1) I went for a Writerly Walk.
2) I set a timer and got up to stretch after 1 hour of writing time.
3) I ate a bowl of grapes (instead of chips) as my writing snack.
4) I finished a chapter!
5) I went to bed without TV so I could think about my plot.
6) I SCHEDULED writing time into my planner.
7) And so on.
