Track Successes / Positive Steps In SEPT., 2019!

BDG the bread machine cake turned out very well, except I should have whisked the egg more thoroughy with the liquid. Every so often you encounter a little lump you think is a nut piece, but it's chewey, so I figure its a bit of cooked egg. I'll report back to you when I make one properly with instructions.

I hate to do anything exactly as instructed. Makes life edgy.

75. Went to see the Downton Abby movie with my mother on Sunday.

74. Had a great family hang-out night on Saturday.

73. Did an impromptu movie (at home) on Friday night.

How did the final cake turn out @FORESTPAL?


72. Went for a quick walk on my break instead of skipping it.

71. Managed to eat more of the stuff I had in the fridge & freezer for dinner.

70. Managed to catch one of my Youber's monthly Live stream for a change.

69. I tried to make a cake in my breadmaker, cause I was too tired to stir it up etc. It tastes good, but when I poured it into the cake pan, a lot hadn't been stirred in, so I spread it on the top like a dump cake. I'll read the bread machine book next time. There must be a way.

68. my caregiver was here, and as always that sort of forces me to do stuff. When she finishes a task, I usually have to do something to enable her to do the next on her list. Even just having her asking & jabbering wears me out.

67. Got some to-dos done.

66. Did the dishes.

65. Cooked dinner.

64. Went for a walk both yesterday (5 mins) and today (20 mins).

63. Got some more to-dos done.

61. Got in bed on time and woke up on time.

60. Took an evening to catch-up on some to-dos.

59. I've been studying up and prepping to be ready to launch an Instagram platform for Witches of Willow Street in a few weeks. (Now to get back to the WRITING!!!!)

58. Did still get my laundry done.

57. Took it easy this weekend.

56. Went out with my parents to hear Lousie Penny (their favourite author) talk. It was an absolutely wonderful event.

55. TaDah! Stayed close to my Paleo & maintained my loss so far.

55. Finally remember to add some time-sensitive monsters to my 4thewords queue so I can finish off a quest.

54. Got an item off my to-do list.

53. Completed the Shadows of Revan expansion. Now my highest character is only two expansions behind! (Until the next one comes out in October. But I might actually be caught up by then!)

52. Rolled with some hiccups, like forgetting my lunch and mistaking the day an event was happening on.

51. I did it! 2nd 5-2 fast day on paleo/500 cal. Ta Dah.
BDJ - In addition to my To-Do list I have a ta-dah list for tasks accomplished. Thanks for your encouragement. It helps, doesn't it?

50. Got back on my eatig plan yesterday and lost 3#! What a motivator. Doing well today too. Makes me reconsider the 2-5 periodic fast plan. Not sure I'm tough enough for it, but it would let me continue to enjoy the off plan food I gained 4 pounds for. Hmmm.

49. Cleared a flashpoint in my game last night *lol* Honestly, this seems to be where my focus is at right now, and I really just want to enjoy it.

48. Finally derailed yesterday (from doing all my good things) BUT I chose to spend this downtime creatively.

47. I started making a slideshow to watch before I settle in to write. (An inspirational trigger.)

46. I reviewed a book about breaking writer's block and incorporated some of the exercises into my routine. (Speed writing for 10m to "clear the throat" for example.)

45. I read a book about characterization and plot adaption based on "the dark moment" of a character's life. Will be running my 2 primary characters through that process today.

43. Got to-dos done yesterday.

42. finally wrote for an hour last night. Word count was low but I was also making some notes about things to add/align in revision.

41. used the notes function in Scrivener as intended ... made those revision notes instead of going in and revising. Trying to concentrate on forward progress.

40. went to the park early in the day to walk and meditate. It was nice.(This park is always shady, so it's my go to destination when it's really hot.)

39. did all my "stuff" and got to bed six minutes after 2.

38. I was feeling pretty punk yesterday. (Probably a hormonal period ... damn ovaries.) I REALLY wanted to curl up on the sofa, watch trash TV, and consume large quantities of junk food. I. Did. Not. Succumb! I got all my stuff done, I just did it slower and gentler.

37. got some writing time in BEFORE my day was likely to go wonky and I was likely to stray from the beautiful path I've designed for myself. (Unlike today, Tuesday,, as I come in late because my whole day has been upside down.)

36.went to my local writers meeting

@FORESTPAL Sorry for the delayed answer! I haven't been around on the internet much for the past week.

It was written in 3-Days (probably more of a novelette than a novel, really) for the 3-Day Novel Contest: www.3daynovel.com/

Right now it's under submission, so it'll probably be about a year until I hear back or can do anything with it.

I'll be prepping my one from last year to be available around the start of December, though :)



35. Maintained my sleep/wake schedule through the entire two weeks of holidays.

34. Kept up with writing every day (though I didn't plot or edit some days).

33. Actually had a vacation on my vacation: played video games (Star Wars: The Old Republic) all week and did almost nothing else.

30. 20m meditation (but I fell asleep, still all good tho)

28. found my knitting and started noodling around with it

27 Lost almost my whole day to crappiness. Nothing big, just bleh. BUT, at around 11:30p, I decided to do as much as I could before getting to bed, so the day wouldn't be a total loss.

I:

23 made myself some protein and produce (scrambled eggs and a tomato)

22 took a bath

21 meditated 20m

20 got to bed by 3:30a (just an hour and a half late)

19. I'm ALMOST completely done with the tweaking I always do at the beginning of a season. Very, very soon, all things will be aligned and I can go onto autopilot.

18. walked, wrote and meditated for 20m each. (day 2)

Big wins yesterday! (For me, considering where I've been for a good long while.)

17. ate an apple and a handful of walnuts at the end of the day, to be SURE I got my produce and protein in

12. I finally contacted my bread machine help site & left a question re: cleaning the heating coil with dough stuck to it. So frustrating, & I'm anxious to make rye bread.

11. I cleared some creeping clutter and washed down my counter top.

10. I finished putting my Autumn Book of Days (bullet journal) together.

9. I FINALLY reset F2W :)

8. I've been doing pretty good about following along with my schedule even as I tweak for the next time period.

7. I created some fun new tools for my bullet journal to guide me through the autumn season.

BDG - does your novel take 3 days to read, or what? & where can we read/buy it?

6. Finished my 3-Day Novel for 2019! I can now pay attention to the rest of the internet and world again :)

5. I started a "Ta Dah" list as well as a "to do". It's much more agreeable to celebrate accomplishments, no matter how small.

6. I found a new favorite author, Faith Martin, & read the 1st & 2nd books in her Fatal series. Absolutely love the young English policeman, and am learning so much about England.

4. A few days ago, I made some smoothie mixes to freeze. I've had one every day since then. I got tired of relying on salads, which took forever to eat, to get my daily produce in. This is faster.

3. I started working on the autumn bullet journal (I'll be doing a looser, more colorful version this season.)

2. I vacuumed the living room.

1. I spent some time thinking about what I'll need to do for the Witches of Willow Street social media platform last night.

Positive Steps / Success Journal

If we don't give ourselves credit for our successes, who will? This game requires a self-nurturing, generous mindset. Any day that includes a positive step toward being a fitter, healthier, more productive writer / artist should be worth at least one step!

HOW TO PLAY:

Anyone on the team, at any time, can come to this thread and make note of one (or more) positive step(s) they took. Ideally each step will be in the direction of better health and more productivity.

Each step will be numbered. The first person to post will take the first step and number it as "1)". The next person to post would number their step as THE NEXT CONSECUTIVE NUMBER. So If you come in and see that, say, 10 steps have already been taken by teammates, you would list your step as #11.

Here are some ideas for steps. (Your step does not need to be original or unique ... If you are journaling once a week, you could take a step for the team each week with the same task. Does that make sense?)

Examples:
1) I went for a Writerly Walk.
2) I set a timer and got up to stretch after 1 hour of writing time.
3) I ate a bowl of grapes (instead of chips) as my writing snack.
4) I finished a chapter!
5) I went to bed without TV so I could think about my plot.
6) I SCHEDULED writing time into my planner.
7) And so on.
