Annie, we are here in Citrus Heights. Actually every day is beautiful to me weather-wise. Sometimes it can be very hot in the summer months, but it normally does cool off at night.

I am getting things done around the house today, working a little bit at the office-when you are self-employed you have to be available for clients when they can make it. Within reason that is.

Have a great Saturday.

I'm really getting into this. I also use a BodyBugg to measure my calorie burn, so today I broke up the exercise into 2 segments: 2 miles fat burning walk in the morning, 2 miles WATP in mid-afternoon when my energy was flagging and then another 2 miles WATP after cleaning up the kitchen.

Now, I feel perfectly justified in curling up with a book and know I'll reach my calorie burn goal for the day.

Carrie when I started working out again in June it took me 2 months before I could do a 30 minute class without stopping. Give yourself time and modify! If you feel yourself getting winded stop and walk and don't raise the legs as high. It takes time but you will get there. My allergy Dr. told me the best way to build up endurance is to run on a treadmill. Try to get in 5 minutes for a week and then to start building up. It did help. Only took me 40 years to listen, but I am doing so much better. I can now get through the 1 hour aerobins that I do 2 times a week. The rest of the time we do a 30 minute workout. Just keeping working at it. I will share with you a Bible scripture that I like. it is Hebrews 12:11
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. I know that in the end the results are going to be awesome.

! Welcome! You can browse the team page for the challenges. Also there is a daily blog for "Crazy Challenge of the Day".

I can't do the entire 5 miles at once yet either. I think the coordination of feet, legs and arms and the endurance all comes with practice and continuing to do them! It took me awhile to get my arms and legs to work in unison and I am building up my endurance day by day.... The 5 mile fat burn is intense, so give yourself time and keep walking! It will come!

Annie-- Thanks! It was a sad occasion, but it was nice to see family and friends. Grandpap is at peace now, but that doesn't make me miss him any less! I only managed a mile or 2 while away, so am going to do the 1 mile video now and then Walk & Kick later....

Does anyone else have to break the 5-mile fat burning into a few sessions to get it done? I feel like such a wimp, but I can't get thru one. Plus, I'm having real problems getting my arms and legs to work together. Any suggestions?

Hi Andrea! I am actually Andrea also. I have the five mile walk also. I have some tapes at home and then the gym that I go to has a lot of her DVD's. I like a variety. I belong to a great womens Christian gym. It is really wonderful.

Hi I'm Andrea. I checked out a Leslie Sansone video from the library and really enjoyed it. I'm planning on completing 1000 minutes of her video this month as my November goal. Glad to be here. I can't wait to catch up on your experiences with her videos.

Thanks for the welcome. I am sorry to hear about your Grandpa. I have had 3 deaths in the last 2 weeks. I will keep you in my prayers.

Yes I have the Leslie Walk and Kick DVD Love it. I had her original ones on tape, but I wore them out,so I am now trying to replace them.

Even though you will be attending a funeral have fun catching up with family and friends and be careful in your travels.

Hello. Happy Halloween to all. My Grandpap died last night in his sleep. He just turned 90 on October 13. I'm going to miss him. I have to go to PA to the funeral and all and not sure when we will leave. I just feel kinda hollow inside right now.... And, guess what? Food hasn't helped! I'll check in when I get back. Hi I am new to the team. My name is Annie. I love to "walk away the pounds" when I am not at the gym. I love my gym also because it is a womens Christian gym.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Little about me. I am married and the mother of 2. Survied cancer and am now trying to lose the weight that has crept up on me. My favs are hiking and biking and kick boxing. This week is suppose to be nice so I think I will be outside some. The rain is gone and it is a new month. St. Louis broke a record for the amount of rainfall. Great to see the sun in the sky.

Good morning everyone.

I have been so tired this week. This morning I slept so late. If my Husband didn't wake me at 9:30 I would still be sleeping.

I really need to get back on track for this coming week. I only walked once this whole week. True its been busy around here with Surgery for my Son and me with my Dental problems so I'm giving myself a break from beating myself up but only for this week. Today I hope to get in a 2 mile walk with one of Leslies dvd's.

Diane-- It is hard to find an adult costume that is not slutty. What's up with that? I think it has taken me since about the 2nd or 3rd week in Sept. to get 82 miles as of today.... I'm blind and can't read the overall report to see what date I started tracking my miles there, but I'm thinking it was about the 3rd week in Sept. So, I'm impressed! HeeHee!

I really need to get back on track with my eating. I'm doing good with my exercise, but the eating is not so good.... Hope everyone has a Happy Halloweekend!

I made 80 miles on the fitness tracker today. That is just 80 miles since I found out I could record it there! I only measure my workout miles there, so I"ve walked alot more with just my every day walking, but am kinda tickled to have hit the 80 mile walk! I could've walked to another city!

Good Morning!
It's chilly this morning but at least it's not raining. DD is making me crazy about what she's wearing for halloween. She was to go as 50's girl, ala poodle skirt and all. Her friend had the costume & DD was all excited about it. Well, she finally got the costume yesterday & put it on. She hates it! It's a cheapest costume & does look kind of funny. So now she needs to get a costume asap!! I suggested she dress all 80's. I could do her up really cute but she's not into it... oh, well! So when she gets home it off to the party store to see what's left for costumes. All the seniors are dress for tomorrow & then a party later. Today she's out w/ her art class doing their annual store windows painting for Halloween. Oh, to be a teen again...lol!

Hi Diane and welcome to the team! Happy to meet you and I am wishing your daughter success with her endeavor.... Sounds like a wonderful opportunity for her. I too binge when stressed and my binges are relatively mild compared to some, but they still sabotage my eforts! We are all in this together and can help each other with our struggles!

Karen-- How are things? I feel confident you had a Superior guide in what to say at that child's visitation. Oh, it just makes me sick! I am so sorry this is an issue that has touched your life so closely. It certainly does remind us how precious life is and how we should treasure our loved ones, esp. those of you who have children! You are still in my prayers as is that troubled young mother!

We had some rain yesterday, well alot of rain, but it is terribly warm today. The temps will be going up and down all weekend it looks like! Well, I need to ready myself for my belly dance class! Later!

It's a rainy day here. I going into Manhattan today w/ DD. She has her 1st interview ever. She looking to do volunteer/intern work at an Art Museum. She'll be an Art major next yr, when she starts college. I'm hoping to get a WO in but not sure... well, I will get lots of walking in.

Hi I'm new to the team although I've been w/ Spark for a while. I've been back since April, but had a tough summer, since I had a hysterectomy. I've restarted again & have been doing ok. I love WATP dvds & have used them on & off for a couple of yrs. Now I switch between my elliptical & WATP dvd when I WO. I do need to exercise more consistently & not binge eat when stressed.
I'm looking forward to make some friends!! emoticon

Thank you ALL for your prayers. Tomorrow is the visititation with the family and the funeral is on Wednesday. I would appreciate your continued prayers for me to say the right words and to NOT say the wrong words.

It's a beautiful Monday here in Kansas and I did have a really WONDERFUL weekend with my hubby and kids. I held them very close and remembered in the minutes that I spent with them how very PRECIOUS life is and the blessing that they are!

why do these people have kids and do that to them?

when there are so many that would love to have a child and can;t

Oh Karen, what a tragedy! I will pray for that family and for that mother. I can't imagine she didn't know her child was being so violently abused though and for that she needs even more prayer! What a horrific situation all around and that poor baby boy! I hope they are checking his sister out for abuse too. Sweet babies! I don't know how people can do it! My prayers are with all involved!

Hey all...I don't really like joining a team and then coming in and being a downer, but I just NEED to ask for prayer for a co-worker's family. To make a very LONG story short, my co-worker's daughter went in to check on her son (15 months old) on Monday night after putting him to bed and he wasn't breathing. They had an ambulance pick him up and rushed him to the hospital. Originally, they thought he had a medical condition, but after checking him over, found out he had been abused multiple times over the past months. The mother's live-in boyfriend has been arrested, and the mother is not a suspect. Little Evan was declared brain dead on Wednesday. Evan leaves behind a three year old sister and of course his Mom and Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles. Evan's father was killed in an automobile accident this past March. This has just been such a devastating situation to deal with this week.

I am just asking any of my praying friends out there to please remember this family.

Hi All! Hi Karen & welcome! Hey, we all have setbacks! Don't beat yourself up, just keep moving forward! I think it is great you lead a class at church. I like that idea alot.

I crossed 60 miles on my fitness tracker! I know I've walked more than 60, but that is how many since I discovered that feature on the fitness tracker! I just tried the Walk Slim DVD today and whooWhee! I only did 2 miles b/c I am really sore from trying my first spinning class yesterday! My rear end and legs are killing me, but it is a good ache! Have a great night and a great weekend if I don't get back here! ~Melissa

My name is Karen, and I am not new to Spark, but new to this team. I have totally fallen off the wagon, and decided TODAY is the day I have to get back ON!!

I had lost close to 60 pounds, now I've put about 20 back on, and I KNOW that things gotta change. I'm not at all happy with the way I look, I'm not happy with myself for falling down so hard, and I know I've been a disappointment not only to myself, but to others who have looked to me for encouragement. I LOVE WATP, and actually hold a "class" twice a week at my church for other ladies who are on this journey.

Look forward to meeting all of you!

Good Morning! We are suppose to get back up to 100 degrees today. I think I will go swimming for exercise today. I wish the weather would make up it's mind! It rarely gets really, really cold in this part of Arizona but it is usually cooler than this now. I am one of those nuts who actually loves warm weather. I love to swim besides doing Leslie's DVD's so I welcome the warm weather! So besides swimming today, I am going shopping and then grocery shopping. I will be praying for everyone who is sick. Please take care of yourselves and get rest.
