Well, our governor lifted the "Work or Home" Order today. So people will probably finally be getting back out. Although I imagine it will be slow as many people are still scared. And the lifting of the order didn't really get specific about what we're now allowed to do and what's still off limits.

There aren’t the same number of people out and about, but our Walmart is still pretty crowded. And of course very little toilet paper to be found

I don't know how it is where you live, but here there aren't that many people out. At least at our local walmart. I have encountered a lot of people outside walking in the neighborhood, though.

I can't afford to isolate for much longer. My career requires me to be in close contact with other people (dance instructor and Pilates instructor). However, we have medical bills coming in that are piling up to be quite high and there is no money in savings to cover any of them. I need to be able to get back to work soon. I'm thinking of going down to walmart and applying for a job stocking shelves or something.

I don’t understand the protests that are taking place demanding reopening. We haven’t hit the peak yet. That means the number of cases are still rising, and subsequently the number of deaths. I really don’t want to die, personally. So, I will keep isolating until we are well on the downward slope of the curve. Just my preference.

That seems like overkill to me. I've had to wear a mask a few times lately as I've had a few visits to the doctor. I have asthma and some anxiety issues. It's much harder to breathe with a mask on, which made me think I might be having an asthma attack, which then makes my anxiety kick in, which makes it harder to breathe. I'm not sure what I would do if I had to wear a mask every time I was out in public.

January was not a good month for me just in general, as I spent 9 days in the hospital. February was just okay, due to the stress of moving apartments. I am hopeful for March, though with flu season and the corona virus floating around I am praying that I don’t get sick. (I am actually more worried about catching the flu at this point...)

I had my gall bladder out last Monday. Since then, I've a little bit of nausea, but I've heard that is from the gas they pump into your body. My only other complaint is the incision in my belly button. It pulls sometimes when I move and I can't wear jeans because they irritate it. Oh, and I've been really tired. But I feel a little better everyday.

I had my gallbladder out about 20 years ago, but I remember that pain clearly. You have my prayers and good wishes that the doctors figure everything out and you can get some relief.

As for it not being a healthy way to live...? That kind of pain needs to be treated seriously, and I think that sitting on the couch is about right at this point. Be kind to yourself. Try not to stress over whether you are active “enough”. With the pain and uncertainty you need to conserve your strength to deal with what is going on.

The good news is that usually gallbladder surgery is quick and fairly low pain... and I know for me the recovery is quite quick. And I have had no particular long term effects from the surgery! Take care and best wishes. Let us know how you are doing...?

I want to offer an explanation to where I've been and why I'm going to be scarce a little longer. I went to Disney World with my mom, my sister and her family for my nephew's 4th birthday the last week of January. I got back to my parents' house last Saturday with severe abdominal pain and ended up in the ER that night. They ran tests and best guess is I'm going to have to have my gall bladder out. I had a follow up with a GI doctor who ordered a HIDA Scan (for testing gall bladder function), which I had yesterday. Since I've been feeling awful, I've been spending a lot of time chilling on the couch at my parents' watching TV. Yes, I know this isn't a healthy way to live. Hopefully it won't be much longer. I'd really like to be able to eat a full meal and get back into working out. The hope is it's my gall bladder, it can come out soon, and I can get on the road to recovery soon. I'll be back when I'm feeling well enough to put in the energy here.

I am putting in my 30 day notice at the apartment building that I have lived in for 10 years. It is no longer a healthy environment for me. I have found another apartment in the next town over. It isn’t quite as convenient, but the relief of moving out makes it worth the extra effort to get around. I have started sorting out my books, so I don’t have quite as many to move in March. The first four bags went out today (and that was from one bookshelf!) to be donated to the literacy volunteers used book store. I am relieved, but also anxious about the change. As it is I have been staying almost exclusively at my dad’s house since I got out of the hospital last week.

Needless to say my focus has not been on exercise to any great extent. I have been trying to maintain healthy eating habits, and have mostly been successful with that. I seem to have lost my dancing mojo for the moment. I am betting it will come back when some of this stress has lifted.

Hi everyone! I've been away from the team for a while, but I've been wanting to get back into checking in with everyone. I hope you all are well! My main goal for the time being is to avoid the food I'm allergic to. I found out recently that I'm allergic to peanuts, soy, pork, lettuce, and onions. You would be shocked how difficult it is to avoid the soy. And even the onions are giving me trouble. I'm making this my focus for 2 months and then I'll reevaluate at the end of the two months and decide if I need to modify, double down, or find a new goal.

Here are my goals for 2020 that I wanted to share with the team!

1. Stick with my exercise program of doing strength training 4 times a week and walking every day. Adding in some DVD exercise which includes lots of dancing.

2. Sticking with my diabetes diet and only eating one or 2 sweets a week.

3. Checking my blood sugars more frequently which means checking at night and more on the weekends.

4. Getting to bed earlier (at 9:45)

5. Drinking 64 oz. of water and unsweetened tea daily.

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7

I hope you are all doing well. It is still warm and muggy here. And I am still really busy with work. Yesterday I met up with my Escondido lady friends for brunch in between doing stuff for work. Today I am just going to do maybe about an hour worth of paper work type stuff for work, and do my laundry for work and rest.

Thanks! I feel like it is getting better little by little. But still have some issues with it. And Friday evening seem to be worse. Maybe because my legs get a good work out during PT in the morning, and then I always seem to have a long work day after that trying to wrap up stuff for the weekend. I had my best sleep in months on Wednesday and Thursdays. But Friday was another night of not being able to get comfortable and get to sleep and stay asleep. I finally broke down and took a muscle relaxant pill (Aleve) and did a little better with that.

All my best to you all always, Janette

I have seen all the specialist now.

I have been in PT sessions for a few weeks now, supposedly my scoliosis is causing issues with my spine again, and that is causing issues with my nerves and muscles. My right side of my back and right side oblique muscles are all stiff, and my upper right thigh and groin area is the same. So lots off new stretching exercises and exercises with weights, and balance ball. Trying to strengthen my core and such.

My right hand and arm was all better by the time I got to see the OT specialist, so I don't have to do any more with her. She just gave me a hand out document with exercises to do at home to keep it that way.

The heart specialist had my have an ultra sound of my heart today, and next week they will do one on my neck to check out the veins in it. And then I will go back to him before the end of June to get the results of the test and find out if he is going to have me do anything else.

Because of my doctor appointment today, I will go into the office later today instead of in the early morning.

I hope all is going well with the team, take care, Janette

Sorry I haven't had a lot of time to be on here still. Work was supposed to be slowing down, but it doesn't seem like it, at least not yet. I am getting lots of walking in with work still and other stuff too. And now with PT, I am doing at least and hour a day or more of PT stretching every day and more on days I go into PT.

My O.T. & my cardiovascular appts that I was supposed to go to at the beginning of the month all rescheduled on me at the last minute, so I haven't had them yet.

I did get to go to two appts for PT last week and will be going again this Thursday and Friday. I couldn't get away to spread this weeks appts out better. My right torso side is doing much better with the PT. Still some issues with it, but so much better than before. My right upper thigh and groin area though hasn't seen much improvement yet. But it was already doing a little better with what I was doing for it at home before I even got to have my first appt with them. I am hoping it will continue to do better as time goes. But for now it really doesn't like it when I have to drive a lot or walk a lot. So last week I had to do a lot of driving and walking for work on both Thursday and Friday, so that didn't help it. But she did give me some good advice that might help me in the long run. She was telling me to pay more attention to how I am sitting in the truck, at home and at work. That it is not good to have your knees up higher than your bottom. And unfortunately I noticed after she said it that the seat in my truck has the bottom part higher where your knees would be and where your bottom would be is lower. They angled the bottom part of the seat so you are tipped back a little. And the back of the seat is tipped back some too, and there is no adjustment to either of them. So I tried putting a couple of towels in there folded up to sit on, and it helped a little but didn't raise me up enough. I had a big thick coat shoved behind the seat, I took it out and sat on it folded up and it helped more. So I need to look around for a wedged pillow to sit on to even the seat out. After that I noticed that a lot of the chairs I usually sit in at work and home are raised up more at the knees too, so that you are reclining/or tipped back some. So I will be looking for wedge pillows to deal with that issue and that might really help me out. Also the chair I sit in at home and at work to do computer work have arm rest that make it so I can pull up as close as I would like, or should be to do my computer work. So I end up stretching my arms out, or sitting on the edge of the seat a lot. Which is not helping me at all. I really hate my chair I have at home. My old rolling chair didn't have any arm rest on it so it was better. But the cushion part of the seat just wasn't as cushy as it got old. This one I have now, was a used chair that was just given to me. It is so old now that it is just not cushy either. I piled some bed pillows in it long ago trying to make it more comfortable, but it really didn't work. I am just going to go buy myself a new chair, and will make sure that the bottom part is really cushy, but not higher at the knee area then the bottom area. And hopefully that will help. I spend so much time at home working on the computer, so I want to get a chair that will be more comfortable and better for me. Not sure what I will do about the chair at work yet? Maybe I will look for another cheaper priced one for work too?

Tomorrow I am going to have that first visit with the cardiovascular doctor. I have no idea what they are going to do or want of me.

And then the next week I will finally go to the O.T. doctor, but they have already told me that their referral is only for my right hand and arm, which is almost like normal again, so not sure what is going to happen with that one. It might be just a fast visit and no need for further visits, unless my primary doctor and the insurance decide to let them deal with my thigh and groin area too.

I was supposed to go back to my primary doctor today, but she rescheduled too. They called me last week and said she was going to be away until June. So now I will see her after the start of June to go over all this stuff.

All my best to you all always, Janette

Great Linda! I hope all is still going well with you.

I have been getting lots of walking in with work, errands and dogs and such.

Happy 4th of July to you all.

I went to work this morning. I have tomorrow off. Then it's back to work Wednesday morning. I should be off Thursday. Then I will be working Friday mornings now on for a payroll company that switched it's run/pay date to every Friday instead of Mondays. So I will be back in the office for at least a little bit on Fridays. Then I should have my Weekends off.

We will just be staying home the 4th, our youngest dog doesn't like all the noise, so we will be keeping a watch on her.

Take care, Janette

It's going on 4 weeks & I'm still on track even with a few bumps in the road. I got invited out a few times & made the best choices I could under the conditions. I have lost a total of 18 lbs. so far. I know the weight loss will slow down to a emoticon pace soon so I'm trying to lose as much as possible now! My one mini goal is to get back to 210ville(219 lbs. ) before June. I hope my body will cooperate! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Back on track as of 4/16. I'm so happy. emoticon I'm down to 226 lbs. I have a way to go. I'm doing well minus a few minor slip ups. Summer is right around the corner & my biggest regret is that I didn't get back on track in Feb. or the beginning of March. At least I would have standed a chance to get into 200ville (209 lbs.) I feel a little down at this weight. The way I feel & the way my clothes fit gets me a little depressed. Once I lose another 10 lbs. I should start feeling much better & my self esteem should go up. I'm going to keep pushing till I get back in 210ville(219 lbs.)

Well, evidently I missed out last Spring that April 29th is/was International Dance Day, but in today's IrishCentral news, one was a video showing some Irish Dancing done last sprint. I thought I would share, since I just went to Ireland again this past Sept/October. Enjoy.

How exciting that you will be studying with a woman who is also one of my heroes!
It's great that you won't lose your spark streak. Mine will end when I go away for a few days in September... emoticon

Getting ready for travel to Colorado from Tuesday through Sunday. So blessed to study intensively with one of my heroes, Clarissa Pinkola Estes!

Don't know if I will have access to Spark. So grateful that my wife is kind enough to log in for me so I don't lose my four year long Spark streaks.

I hope you will all keep dancing and posting wildly. I'll miss your wonderful energy!

The day I have been waiting for has finally arrived. I still can't believe it. I DID IT! ONEDERLAND!!! emoticon The scale read 199.5 this morning. It took 5 yrs. to achieve this day! I am finally now ready to close this chapter on my journey. I am so ready to begin a new one! This is goodbye to Twoterville forever. I am shutting the door behind me as a say goodbye. My next two biggest goals are 185 lbs. That will put me out of the obese range. I will ONLY be overweight! Can you imagine that! I will be so happy just to be overweight! The next goal is 176 lbs. which will mean a weight loss of 100 lbs.
