Computer glitch caused me to change from Outlook to Thunderbird, so I don't know if I'm current on any of these boards. But I haven't eaten any sweets for at least 3 days. (No Costco run, which is where I usually end up having a bite or two.)

I haven't had a sweet all day. Matter of fact, nothing with sugar. The only carbs I normally eat nowadays is in fruit and vegetables. I probably take about 1 small treat a week at home, and at my Costco run.

Today was an odd day for me. We went out to brunch after Mass so there was some sweets-action. Although it was 50+% less than what I am known for.

Shared a slice of french silk pie with my daughters
had a coke
and thus far 3 dove dark chocolate eggs.

It's typically just been Dove during the Day... after kicking the 2+ a day soda habit.... now that's only 1 soda when we happen to eat out. Big progress in the last 2-3 weeks, I'd say!

Everything can be offered up as a sacrifice. All of this. It can, it will, in the long run benefit not only me, but my family as well. It's a worth-while sacrifice no matter how long it takes. I must look for His glory in all of this.

@MSJENNIFERVT48 I am finding sugar everywhere! Even Ritz crackers. It takes very little sweets to set off my sugar cravings for the day. I even limit my fruit, and only eat it in the evening so it doesn't cause me to be hungry all day long otherwise.

I will have to double check- but my Almond Butter is LOADED with Sugar ((I think))... I bought a different brand with 2 grams of sugar added.... Hopefully it doesn't taste too blah... I like the added sugar- just not when it's loaded with it. emoticon

It has been a while, since I have been here to do this, but, I am not sure, when but, I believe I need to do his again!! It might be a bit hard with Christmas coming up.

that sounds really good, I've never tried ginger in my oatmeal :)

I added 1 tbsp of fresh organic raw ginger root to my oatmeal this morning. It is warming and treats my GERD nicely. I keep it in the freezer so I can easily grate it into smoothies, oatmeal, yogurt, etc.

Check-in: four days in and feeling great. Have been adding a splash of ACV to water which is delicious and satisfies cravings. Also, just drinking more water in general has been helping. This is more effective when I keep my water bottle on my desk in my line of sight. Other things that I have found to help me: full, delicious salads with diverse ingredients. Taking a deep breath and remembering *this challenge* and *this community* when I have a rush of a craving. Thinking "this too shall pass". And then going for a walk, drinking a bunch of water, or any of the other strategies. Noshing on some raw veggies sometimes helps.

Also, sometimes not waiting for a craving to come on, but anticipating one and choosing one of my wellness treats (the ACV water, a tiny handful of blueberries, etc) kills anything before it hits me too!

I fell off the wagon yesterday and got into my kids' Easter candy. Opps. I am going to try to be better today and stay away from sweets. I've been reading the articles and tips on our team page and am motivated and full of ideas to satisfy my cravings. Thank you!

I had a banana in the morning, afternoon I had ice-cream, but only 2 scoops. I allowed in my calories for today. Trying to beat the sugar cravings, but it is hard. Slow gets it done.

Banana and yogurt with strawberries, but still early. Hope to replace bad sweets such as pastry, cookies, chocolates, ice cream, with Good Sweets such as Low calorie Granola bars, Kids size Snacks (100 calories) or some Fruits.
