Tooley sorry you and your hubby had to go to the ER, good to hear it was not his heart, hope all goes well

Irishel sounds like you are doing some very inspiring things keep up the good work

Today was my strength training day. I upped my reps to two sets of 12. I also did an exercise video that is a favorite of mine, kick boxing. I practice my moves on my hubby which makes him laugh. When it warmed up this afternoon I took a half hour walk.

I'm new here today. I have been going to classes at my Rec center and also my ymca other days. I go 5 days a week and really enjoy. Any other ideas for losing at this time of year especially will be helpful. I do track my meals and snacks and eat Whole Grain and follow the Lifestyle Plan and it is working well.

Great, Changing Turtle. I too opted out for a walk today, though was scheduled to walk a 5K today. Instead, my husband and I spent 4 hours in the ER dealing with his chest pains, which appear to be esophagus related, rather than his heart. Cheers from frosty Portland.

Freezing this morning, passing on an early morning walk. I think I will wait until this afternoon when it warms up to 50. Hubby's Christmas gift is coming right along. Last night I talked to my friend who is a pawn broker and she is giving me a good deal on a used computer that has been updated to windows 10. Hubby will learn how to use that and I will use mine until the virus takes over. So far it is working just right for what I want. I don't need much to be happy

Karen well done on doing what you can with your health problems, you inspire me. Enjoy your wildlife. We have squirrels that come and feed at our living room window. We put nuts out for them. Down the street is an oak tree and I gather acorns also for them. They are tame and eat out of my hubby's hand.

I could not get the Zumba video so did two other exercise videos today and some other exercises. I burned off almost as many calories as I ate for breakfast, burned 308 calories and ate 380 calories.

I'm so sorry about the numbness in your legs. Luckily, Spark people has some chair exercises that are good for your upper and lower body, mainly stretching. Thank you for sharing! You made me feel lucky for what I take as a given. emoticon

While I love walking, especially with my dogs, walking no longer loves me. With spinal stenosis, my legs go numb and then they wobble out of control and I fall. So instead of walking, I use a recumbent bike for my cardio and do some light resistance band work for strength training. Have to be cautious about what and how much I do or I get nerve flairs that won't let me do anything for a couple of weeks and then I'm back to square one. I am envious of you who can walk to the store and back like I used to do. But I'm fortunate to live where I live and enjoy the wildlife through my windows or from my deck, and I can have as many dogs as I want and don't have to worry about licensing them :) Going to try a new video workout today and I'll see how it works with my back.

Today I will eat one cookie I am getting a emoticon cookie at Starbucks. First thing this morning, I have a long walk planned, pushing a full shopping cart. My walking buddy is going with me to the supermarket and has a lot to buy. I volunteered to push the cart. We are using my cart because it is bigger. I am just getting a few vegetables but she is picking up among other things two cases of water. Thank goodness I am strong.

I thought this would be an interesting challenge but I am not sure how much of it I am going to be able to do. I sprained my knee in September. I do seated cardio and walk up to 3/4 of a mile. My knee became irritated and had to take a three week break and went back to physical therapy November 5th.

Every 7th day I take as a rest day because it keeps me going to know I have a lazy day. But if you are just doing walking like I do you don't really need a rest day. With my strength training I have read you need a rest day for muscle to heal so I only do ST 3x a week with a rest day in between. On the other hand I do floor push-ups every day as I am on a streak.

Does this challenge include any rest days? I've always understood that it's necessary to have one rest day each week, but not seeing it in this one. How are the rest of you handling that? Just skip a day then adjust the calendar? Thanks for your feedback!

I am sorry I can't answer that question, you will have to ask the team leader

Today I went for a short 26 minute walk, 1 mile with my walking buddy. She got foot surgery and we had to walk slower than usual. When I got home I marched in place for 4 minutes to get in my cardio for the day.

Ramona cute cartoon

Today I walked a mile to and from the supermarket. While there I walked the store 3 times to add one more mile to my walk. I walked 48 minutes. This is Friday and hubby and I are chair dancing to fast music on the CD player.

This morning I am doing laundry and have to climb stairs so am doing that for my exercise. I am doing it in 10 minutes at a time for 3 times plus what I have to do to get the laundry. Also have a 10 minute walk planned to the drug store. It not as much walking as I usually do in a day but feel it is good to change up what you do for exercise every now and than. I am also doing strength training every other day.

Ramona I agree walking is the best exercise for your health and I read it helps with the memory as you get older. emoticon emoticon

TooleyB1-a workout video is a great idea emoticon

Kate walking with your grandson is a good way to exercise and bond with him emoticon

I do most of my exercise at home, using dvds or video. I walk three to four days in the afternoon. My 12 year grandson goes with me, and sometimes it is dark, but we go

I love walking too. Unfortunately, today and tomorrow will be in conferences with parents and it will be dark when I get home. Will try a new video workout instead to keep up my motivation for this challenge.

I'm going to be 65 in March...but I want to feel 30 again. Walking is the best exercise for keeping us young, and is something we can continue to do as we age physically (if not mentally) emoticon

Bee 5 miles that is great. I am 58 and after 3 miles am wore out. I do about 2 miles most every day

Great News for you..keep up the good work..not an easy task I suspect...I am just starting to do wall planks and those are hard enough. I mostly walk for exercise and have been going at It hard for the last 3 months especially and have built up to walking 5 miles or more most days of the week..Feeling and looking at the difference in my clothes, I am happy to say.
I will be here again.
