That's what I was feeling. Like it was a PRIVILEGE to be a part of it.

His feet were hurting this Friday and he had to buy new insoles. That made his back ache a bit, but NOTHING like before.
He is so grateful!

I am sharing this HERE, and on the MIRACLE thread.

Listen to this!
My husband's back has been hurting pretty badly the last few days. Yesterday he was walking crooked and could hardly get across the room. He was pretty discouraged. His legs and groin were hurting, which is one of the worst stages. (He's had a bad back for 28 years)
One of my sons helped him get into the car (Tuesday afternoon) on the way to work.
He hobbled into the church and was by the office when Pat, the prayer team lady, saw him and asked,
"Why are you hobbling?"
Hubby told her his back was out and does that every so often.

Pat said, "Well, we are going to pray for you RIGHT NOW." (The ladies were there for a prayer meeting.)
Pat said, "I'm going to let Laura pray, because SHE has the gift of healing."
She called Laura over, and Pat, Laura and Joanne placed their hands on Hubby right there and then.
Laura asked, "Where is it hurting?" He told her and she placed her hand on his lower back and began praying.
While she was praying...
Hubby could feel heat on his lower back. Not the normal painful heat. But a heat that he would feel during a ultra sound treatment at the chiropractor's office. It was like a massaging feeling.
Then Laura moved her hand up to the top of where his surgery scar is, and Hubby started feeling the heat THERE!
Laura specifically prayed for his legs, (though she didn't know they were part of the problem.)

When she was done, she let go and exclaimed, "Ooh! Feel my HANDS!!!!!" Hubby touched her palm and it was burning HOT. Even Laura thought that was odd.

So they separated and Hubby went into a room. Laura peeked her head in and said,
"Remember, we are CHRISTIANS. God can heal, but it is OUR FAITH that empowers it. Remember that. And I know you have strong faith!" And she left.

Well!
Hubby felt that therapeutic heat for the next 2 hours. And he felt better and better as the minutes passed. He came home early, because he got the job done. (8:30). He was standing STRAIGHT,and walking fine, and able to get out of the car.
His groin stopped hurting, his back was WAYYY better.
He didn't even have to soak in the tub like usual to get relaxed.
He was able to get up the steps, a little slow, but much easier than before work.
He took a muscle relaxer and Advil before sleeping.

In the morning, my daughter knocked on his bedroom door to wake him up to take her to a CPR class. He had forgotten about it, and jumped out of bed real quick!!!! With no problem.
Then, he dropped her off and went and did errands and shopped through like...3 big stores.
Feeling just fine!!!!

Then he came home and worked on his gardening in the apartment.
He just got home from work tonight and STILL feels great! and is in a super good mood!
And on top of that, his KNEES, which are a separate issue, don't hurt anymore either!!!!!!

I think the last person in our family is over it now. Some have a cough from before. Nasty cough. Hubby has been sick with a cough since BEFORE THANKSGIVING. And yes, he's been to the doctor, and the ER,

I think the flu got passed at the calling hours, not sure, but it must have been...even my HUSBAND'S side of the family got it.

Just wanted to share a verse preached at church today. Isaiah 30:18 And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you; for the LORD is a great God of judgment; blessed are all they that wait for him.

(I had never thought of God waiting on us to bless us. Sometimes, we need to line up our lives and wills to that of His for he can and will bless us. He extends Mercy to those who genuinely turn to him and so graciously continues to give.

I have realized this in my own life lately in a special way.

Susan, this is soooooo inspiring.

I see you are really taking your spiritual life so seriously. Thank you for sharing how you are opening your life to God's will and all that he is doing through you. I can hardly wait to hear what's next.

I have been asking God to use me more in His choosing. Can hardly wait to see what He is up too. Life is just too short to not to live our lives out by shining for Jesus and our Heavenly Father. Oh that we would take every opportunity He gives to bring him honor and glory.

Hugs,
Lois

Okay, so here we go again....
emoticon

Hubby and I decided we wanted to begin getting to know other people at church and build up some good friendships and just a group of like-minded people.
So we began with this one family. The dad "R" plays the drums at church, the mom, "L" often helps lead worship and she is ALSO an amazing prayer warrior.
THIS is how amazing: we can be in conversation about one thing, and as soon as I mentioned something about my mom being in the hospital...she STOPPED EVERYTHING, grabbed my hands and prayed. She says she has learned that when she hears a need for prayer, there's no point in putting it off, because the moment may pass. Wow...is she ever good at that!

To continue, the 20 year old son has some challenges that make it hard for him to make friends...sometimes others are uncomfortable around him.

The wife's MOTHER, who lives with them, ALSO came.
emoticon

It was a great time. We ordered some pizza, etc. and they brought some food to pitch in.

Well !!!! emoticon
It turns out that the woman and I have a passion for pro-life ministry. She has just been 'called' into a healing ministry out of state. She is a producer and has been inspired to use her talents for the pro-life ministry. Way cool! Some of the stories she told gave ME 'God-bumps'.
Also, I was able to share with her that song I shared with you all, "Embrace' and told her that I've been wanting the worship team to look at it and that I want HER to sing it. lol. She was a WEE bit taken aback, WHY ME?" she asked. and I told her that I love her voice-it would go well with the song....she told me that I should sing it. lol. too funny. Well, she loved the words, and then I quietly sang the song...while insisting no one else listen in, LAUGH OUT LOUD.
She LOVED IT and ....(I think her drummer husband WAS listening in, because HE told me that our worship leader would LOVE to work with me on that.) In the end, they INSISTED I contact the worship leader for his help. So that's cool.

And p.s. She said I actually HIT the notes! Wow. Didn't expect THAT!. CHUCKLE.

Next, The impact on the older mother.
Well! As we were talking about ideas for pro-life ministry, I had shared that I had committed this year, to making a baby blanket EACH month and donating it to Pregnancy Choices. My daughter adds a pack of diapers, and my husband buys the wipes and the gift bag. So they had some questions about the blanket and I brought out the CURRENT one (which is NOT so CURRENT ...because it is for JULY! lol...oh pathetic Me.)
Well, the Older Mother, began making comments about wanting to relearn crocheting. Soon, she was watching me and before you know it she began working on MY blanket. She was worried that her HANDS, which are often NUMB, would not be able to do it. But she COULD and she was sooooo tickled that she got TEARED up and told her daughter, "NOW, I have something to do with my HANDS!"
I went back into my handy dandy craft room, that I just created, :) , and got out another skein of yarn, had my daughter find a crochet hook (which just happened to be of a larger size, which might work better for her hands.) And I started a NEW blanket for her. (THE BEGINNING of blankets is SUCH a pain.) So she went home with something to look forward to.
NEXT.....while we were getting to know each other, I happened to state that my 15 yr old daughter is in love with Captain America! And that lead to all kinds of Marvel conversations.

LITTLE DID WE KNOW... that the SON absolutely LOVES Marvel and has a collection. And he CAN NEVER FIND ANYONE who would LISTEN to him talk about it!
So he ended up FITTING IN PERFECTLY! His parents said, that while visiting other people, he often has to go off by himself. He never did that ONCE here.
Later in the evening, My hubby and 4 of my sons went to men's study at church and the Father that visited us today, was ALSO there. He was sooooo GRATEFUL that his son had a great time. The son talked about us the whole ride home. And his dad said, to my hubby, 'And I can tell that your family is not faking it; you're for real."

So the DAD was blessed...just that his FAMILY was blessed.
The mother was blessed because there was so much common ground.
The son was blessed because he had a place to feel comfortable, even with his personal challenges.
And the Grandmother was blessed because she renewed a skill, and MAY even begin donating the blankets to Pregnancy Choice Centers like I do.

WHAT A GREAT DAY!

Also, I asked the mom, if she would keep the kids I babysit, in prayer. She STOPPED everything, had all 14 of us hold hands and just prayed for these children and their parents.
It was really awesome!

Again....GREAT things are happening.

I also was pointed to a set of videos that teach kids about what's in the Bible and I was able to borrow 8 of them THIS WEEK, and THIS just happens to be a full week with those kidders as their Momma trains for her new nursing position. So again, GREAT THINGS.

It is AMAZING what GOD can do if we would only turn out situations over to Him. This is a beautiful testimony of how GOD is ready and willing to "take the wheel", we just need to turn "our" personal navigation systems off. He doesn't need our help, just our submission to His will. GOD continues to show me new miracles daily, my enemies are NOTHING, when I know who is in control. If HE be for us, who can stand against us? Keep taking everything to GOD and watch him "Show up and Show out!!!"

PRAISE REPORT in my Husband's WALL:

Ohhhhhhhh MANNNNN!!!!!!
Sooo. in my opening statement I mentioned my Husband's Wall is about trusting PEOPLE. I mean, he's had a TOUGH life all throughout school. He'd been in physical fights practically EVERY day of his school career. First in being picked on, then after learning to defend himself...all the OTHER bullies wanted a piece of the action. Boy were THEY all surprised when he hit his middle school growth spurt! lol
One day in middle school a very good friend of his started a fight with my hubby. Hubby KNEW the boy was going through tough times at home and COULD have just let it go. But his PRIDE did NOT let it go and it turned out to be a HUGE FIGHT and the end of a friendship. (and btw, he had gone to school the next day with some serious black eyes...and all the football players thought it would be fun to 'see if THAT hurts' when they hit his bruises. But....they REGRETTED doing that, after hubby slammed their heads into a locker over and over again. ) Yes, that's the kind of life that my husband faced all through school...and he's not a wimpy kind of fella.
So...anyway, one of my husband's BIGGEST REGRETS was the end of this friendship. It's been NAGGING him for 35 years. EATING at him. (His OTHER horrible regret was not sharing the Gospel with one of his best friends. That best friend was killed in a motorcycle accident in front of his own house at the age of 19. Hubby has a very hard time dealing with his failure in that.)
So here's the incredible thing, Hubby came home from work tonight with something to share!
That friend he fought with? SENT HIM A FRIEND REQUEST ON FACEBOOK TODAY!!!!!
Hubby was astounded. For YEARS, he thought out in his head, what he would say to him if he ever had the chance.
And NOW was his chance.
He apologized for letting the fight take place and for failing him (because of his own pride) when his friend needed him most!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

So think! Just ONE month after giving his 'people problem' over to God, his SECOND biggest people problem was resolved. RESOLVED!
And GUESS what the guy said in response!
He said he couldn't remember either, what started that fight, but that he had anger issues back at that time. And that ....wait for it.....
"Don't EVER think that I DIDN'T think of you as my friend!"

All these years of regret.
Sighh!!!!
God is WORKING in our lives. And it's a MARVELOUS thing.
****
Okay, enough about Hubby and more about ME. LOL
I see from some of your wonderful comments that the issue of MEMORIZING SCRIPTURE has been brought up. I don't THINK I mentioned having problems MEMORIZING. What I have a problem with is LEARNING. Understanding what the situation is...the geography, the time period, what else is happening around that time and in that area. I have a problem being confident that I understand the topic enough...sometimes OTHER people's opinions don't match mine, and I automatically think I'M the one that's wrong. So THAT'S why I'm afraid to SHARE the Gospel. I don't want to say things WRONG and make it look like SCRIPTURE is inaccurate.
I've always had VERY low self-confidence in my own thinking.
But pause it a minute. While you're all here, I want to remind you what Scripture my family HAS been memorizing or reading over and over, because this is a big part of how I'm handling finding a place to BEGIN studying the Bible.
Okay, these references were suggested by Ken Ham (from the Creation Museum in Kentucky. He said, that since each of them listed covers the BASICS of the Bible, they would make a great TRACT to pass out. So I wrote them out on bookmarks and pass them along if people ask where to start studying.
Genesis chapters 1-11 This shows all the beginnings. Of creation, of people, marriage, sin, first murder....etc.
Exodus chapter 20 This shows us The Law
John (whole book) This shows us Jesus Life and Teachings
Romans-Salvation
1 Corinthians 15- explaining spiritual and physical life (it also talks about at least 500 witnesses to the Resurrection!)
Revelation 21 and 22 Heaven

Okay. Remember that! Write it down. It might make a difference in Your life. MY family has read one chapter over and over again each day for an entire month. And then we move on.
For instance Genesis had 11 chapters, Exodus 20 is ONE chapter so that equaled the whole 12 months in our first year. Then we read JOHN for almost 2 years and now we are on Romans.

So...what have I been doing with MY WALL? I've been trying to find a non-sleepy position to read in. Even lying on the floor on my belly....lol...it works well.
But today I cleared off a nice round table, scooted it closer to my lace-curtained window and studied...yes STUDIED...even taking notes...Judges 1-10. And I stayed awake...I got a hot cocoa and my breakfast and I pulled up my chair. It was WONDERFUL.
I kept my Bible opened to the page so when I'm in passing and have nothing to do...it's already ready for me to take up where I left off!
So that's another step forward!

Thanks for reading everyone!
Oh. Btw , reading about Gideon....so cool. They surrounded the bad guys camps in the valleys and scared the living daylights out of them. The Bible says the Israelites STOOD but guess what the innumerable bad guys did? The RAN, they CRIED, they FLEED!

HAHA! love it! When we are on God's side...who in the world thinks they can win against us? silly willies.

Learning and Studying for God's Glory in my life.
~Susan

Amazing thread! I feel the same way about memorizing scriptures and sharing with others. I have kept an ongoing list of what I call power/life verses: my aunt introduced me to this concept in September. She said pick some key verses that mean something to you and memorize them. I gathered 161. So since I couldn't decide I decided that in the near future, I am going to take 5 a week and work on memorizing them. I wrote them out in my notebook and broke them down into groups of 5 already! Excited about this endeavor.

Have hope, spread love, do good!

THank you for sharing this aspect of your life and the process your taking. I look forward to hearing how it plays out, blow by blow, as well. I'm not great at memorizing really either but I always remember a word or two that gets me to the right verse. I recently read or heard that a partial or even paraphrased verse loses the power it can have because its incomplete or changed by man. This is based on Hebrews 4:12. So I think that I need to work on getting entire scriptures ready. I love Lois's idea with mapping it out in the Bible. No danger there because you can just read the verse word for word! Great topic Susan thanks for introducing it!!

What a clever way (taking a block) and focusing on the walls in your life!!!! I love it!!!

One way that I have learned how to share Jesus with others is by memorizing certain verses. I would memorize a phrase at a time and repeat it with the next phrase and then learn the next phrase and repeat all the ones memorized. Does that make sense? I kept on and on repeating them. Then I took a New Testament and marked these verses in the order that I wanted to share salvation's plan. It was easy to find the next verse for I put the page number at the bottom of the page that I was on and it took me to the next.

As you stated, prayer is the key. Asking God for wisdom is a sure thing. He makes it possible to learn and share. Also, he taught me so much with each phrase that I memorized.

I am interested in reading more and more.Keep them coming.

I can see already that God is going to do some interesting things throughout this journey of mine.
I've posted elsewhere about some of this, but it's been pretty scattered, commenting on several different posts.
I'm going to try to start here, explaining from the beginning. Forgive me if you've already heard about this and it's getting 'old'.

So.
Our minister has just finished a sermon series called,Walls Fall Down: Lessons from the Battle of Jericho. You should be able to listen to them here. It began on 9/11/16 and finished 10/23/16. I highly encourage you to listen, if possible.
http://www.perrychristian.org/content.cf
m?id=350

Anyway, at the beginning of this series, they had a table in the foyer with colorful children's blocks. We were to take one and hold on to it, taking it home and keeping it nearby as a reminder...then bring it back to the church and placing it up front with everyone else's.

The goal is to examine yourself to uncover what YOUR OWN wall is that blocks you from growing closer to God.
Well, I wasn't sure what MINE was. My husband admitted that HIS was trusting people; not wanting to get to know anyone enough that when the time came for that person to fail him, his heart wouldn't be broken. This is why he chose to join this church...as a step to show God that he was willing to work on this....thereby opening doors for God to work with him.

So what was MY wall? I trusted God, I liked people, hmmmm...
Well, I've noticed that I have a tendency to NOT share the gospel easily. Why? Because I lack learning. and Wisdom.
Why?
Why? HA! Because I fail to ASK.

James 1:5 (KJV)

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

So MY particular wall is a having difficulty in learning and retaining God's Word which prevents me from sharing the gospel with those who need Him. My SIN is not asking God to teach me, and not actively working HARD at it.
(Now mind you, my family has ALL kinds of regular conversations together about the Bible. We read together etc. But I'm speaking of MY OWN personal life. I get distracted easily, I fall asleep easily.I don't always catch on to the point of the story. And I can easily get confused with EVERYONE ELSE'S viewpoint, even if theirs is WRONG...and can't stand on my own two feet with my OWN personal knowledge and understanding of what I"VE read.)

So once I came to this realization (and it's probably only my FIRST WALL I need to overcome, lol, sighhhh) I decided to pursue Learning God's Word for myself.

So far, this is what has happened.
1. A new friend just HAPPENED to ask me to study Judges with her, one on one. (I don't want to go to Bible studies, because I am hard of hearing (yes, I'm only 48) and conversations are pretty much useless to me.) Then there's the time factor. We are both busy with our children and home schooling and fitness. So what does she do? She asks me to study with her WHILE our kids are practicing for a Christmas Play after church each Sunday. Killed two birds with one stone. 1 small 'group' 2. found time.
2. The next thing that happened was that I was invited to THIS GROUP....ANDDDDD please note that I don't have to STRUGGLE to understand YOU FOLKS. (unless your spelling is atrocious. lol emoticon
3. Then there's that wonderful timely verse Philippians 1:9 which fits perfectly with my new journey:

Philippians 1:9 (KJV)

9 And this I pray, that your LOVE may abound yet MORE and MORE in KNOWLEDGE and in all JUDGMENT;

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And now TODAY, while SIMPLY going to the YMCA for my swim, the lifeguards 'quote' board ' JUST HAPPENED' to say,
"You are confined only by the WALLS you build yourself." ~no author's name

Isn't that simply amazing-how everything is falling in place??????

So, I'm getting interested in seeing how this is going to play out and I created this thread to record my Journey as I go along. I hope you don't mind!
Feel free to read along and even comment!

Learning and Gaining Confidence for God's Glory,
