Sorry, I don't have any professional experience with any of these reading programs. Best wishes in finding a source! If there is anything else that one of us can do, please feel free to post.

Sorry. The closest I can get is some recent experience volunteering in the library of a school that uses an AR system. The classes test their students for reading level. As a volunteer I was continuing the librarian's work of looking up the library's books in the AR system and labeling each one with the assigned AR level. When the students came in, their teachers had given them index cards with their AR range (from slightly below where they were at to a slight stretch above) and only allowed to check out books labeled within that range.

Don't know if that helps you at all.

If you don't find anyone, I know someone who would likely be glad to talk to you. She retired last year, but the school she was with used "Reading Counts", an AR-type program, and she liked it and worked lots with teachers using it.
Let me know.
Ann

Hi everyone,

I'm a library student at Syracuse University. Are any of you school librarians in districts that use reading programs such as Accelerated Reader, Success for All, or Reading First? I've been assigned to talk to a librarian about how such a program is administered and how it does (or doesn't!) tie in to the library. I've had a hard time finding a school that does use one of these programs, so I thought I'd give my Sparkfamily a try! If anyone would be willing to talk to me, I would greatly appreciate it! I'm happy to call, email, or chat via skype. Thank you!
