Happy Anniversary!!! I'm so glad you are enjoying Baltimore. The people are very friendly!! I miss that southern hospitality sometimes......

Jen, we camped with Sydney when she was 7 weeks old. I think we did it for 3 nights. It was lovely to get out of the city as it was hot the summer she was born and the woods of Vermont were very cool.

Of course your guy is a lot older than 7 weeks, but I think you're right and he'll adapt very quickly.

Have fun!!!

Carol, when I consider what our days at Pennsic will look like I'm pretty confident it'll be a fun adventure. My only concern is the temperature and his reaction to being away from home for so long. But I think babies are resilient enough that after a couple days or so the tent will be familiar to him and feel like "home"

Jen - we took our son backpacking when he was six months old and we had a great, crazy time! We went to Disneyland (on a plane) when he was two...I vote you just go for it!

Baltimore has been so fun! We have a roof top pool which is lovely. The people have been very friendly and so different than California. We get on the ship tomorrow! I am excited!

Today is our 37th wedding anniversary! We aren't going to a fancy dinner since we went to a fantastic Mediterranean food truck and got lamb salad with tzatziki dressing and a fresh made pita. It was sooo good, but large enough that Im not hungry for dinner - lol. That's the good thing about being together over forty years lol.

As close as I live to Baltimore I've never spent much time there. By now I'm sure you're on a boat!

I'm plucking away at Pennsic packing, it's hard to believe it's just about that time of year again. And I'm pretty sure I'm crazy for going to Pennsic with the baby. But we'll roll with the punches and have some fun. For those unfamiliar, Pennsic is a large medieval festival with about 10-12,000 people, it's 2 weeks long and I camp out in a tent. Of course my tent is more like a mobile hotel room... And the group of 20 or so folks I camp with are like family.

I hope your home life stays calm!

We're off to Baltimore today which should be fun. It's not as oppressively hot, thankfully. It sure has been fun to go to the Smithsonian museums! Yesterday we went to the harbor and bought shrimp and lobster for lunch, then later we went to a distillery for a bourbon and rye tasting.

Good Morning!!

The heat wave seems to be breaking, so thank goodness for that!!! Wow, was it hot this weekend!! We did very little outside but we cooked out on the smoker, so we had very little heat added to the house. The AC works fine, so we're good there.

I was going to swim yesterday, but I ended up staying at my non-profit job a bit longer than I had planned, so I didn't go to the pool. I love this little job. It's like 3 hours a week and I get paid a nice amount for that. Plus I help this non-profit that I really believe in. It's great!

The household drama has subsided for now. We had some good conversations and he is starting to see that it's not just me who is causing the stress. He even has started to clean the house and do house maintenance things without my prodding. I know that sounds crazy.....I know how it sounds......still not entirely sure where I'm going with this, but for now at least the immediate confrontation has been dealt with.

Should be a good day at work, then a normal night at home. I hope. :)

Have a FUN and ACTIVE day!!
