It was wet and chilly in Oregon today but I got in a short walk anyway. Then I did my PT and yoga and went to my PT appointment. Still trying to catch up on the time change.

I have my doctors appointment this afternoon to go over all my test results. I am a little nervous about it as I think my medication will increase. But if I really focus on my plan then maybe 3 months from now I can get the medication to decrease.

Raining today and supposedly tomorrow it will start to clear up.

So, I really was not paying that much attention but this morning before I went off to work I thought I heard the newsman say more snow. Hummm..... Not many at the gym this morning but I am there at 5:30 am so maybe everyone slept in. Calm day at the university today. Must make chocolate mousse for my World Cultures class. I am teaching France, we have a treat a week. So far I have made macarons, pate chou, petit fours, hor's horderves, croissants, next week is creme brulee. The final week of class I will be baking several different kinds of quiche. The students seem to enjoy this portion of my class. emoticon Hope you all have a nice day. emoticon

Depends on what motivates you, I like 7 secrets of successful people. Some like more religious things. Or a book of one liners.

Here is something I heard at a conference that always helped me.

Think of a sphere, A bit over half way up inside the sphere is a boardwalk that goes all the way around. The top half the sphere is good clean fresh air, the bottom half is black, nasty smelly goop. Now who are you going to put on your board walk to catch you when you fall towards the goop? These people can be alive or dead. You could know them personally, or read about them, or their books. Remember the more people you have on your boardwalk the easier it will be for someone to catch you. Once you have chosen your people, read about them, study them, learn what they will say to stop your fall. Make a list of these things, so you can read it when you need to. Many times just remembering the people on my boardwalk when I have a problem, maybe stress release in enough to pull me through. Remember people from many walks of life helps. You may be having trouble staying on track because of stress do to a family member, money, health or many other things.

Being sick does mess with our exercise, but remember, if you push the exercise too hard, or too soon you will make matters worse. No one likes sick people on the plane. So take care of yourself and get better. Mom always told be a good book, a warm blanket and hot tea, Sounds like you are on the right track.

Being sick sure messes with my exercise. I keep coughing until I gag. Stayed home and used Vicks and drank tea and slept. Will do the same tomorrow in hopes of kicking this.

It's quite a chilly day here in Central Indiana and I have a busy day ahead of me. I'm having lunch with my mentors today and then an interview later in the afternoon. I'm thinking I'll have fish tacos since we're having Mexican for lunch.

My back has improved so much that I'm simply amazed at how much freedom I've gained over the past month! I'm so happy now!

I had part of colon out in fall so did not do the fall one either ..
called dr office today to change from bydureon to trulicity .... see if it does a better job - body must be used to bydureon BS too high for me and doesn't help weight - eat clean & low carb so should not be going up .......

I am looking forward to the challenge starting - I now have a personal trainer - saw her on Saturday where she set me up with 4 exercises while sitting on a chair. I am starting today and here is what is looks like

Day 1 (today) - do this 4 times throughout the day giving me 16 minutes on treadmill
2 minutes on treadmill ( I have one at home) to warm up
4 exercises for upper body - each one 10 reps 3x
2 minutes on treadmill

Day 2 - do this 4 times throughout the day giving me 16 minutes on the treadmill
2 minutes on treadmill
4 exercises for lower body - each one 10 reps 3 x
2 minutes on treadmill

Day 3 - do this as per day 1
2 minutes on treadmill
4 exercises for upper body (different from day 1) - each one 10 reps 3 x
2 minutes on treadmill

Day 4 = 16 minutes on treadmill no chair exercises

Start over - she suggested having one day off - which I think will be Sunday but will see

After 30 days will see how much I have improved and then the exercises will be modified more and the treadmill will be at 3 minutes (maybe 4 depending on how I have improved) and going from there.

Am so excited about this and to be able to incorporate all of this during the challenge and watch to see the weight change as well as the inch change.

I didn't do the winter challenge because i had a surgery. Now I'm back and been going at the gym strong for the last month and a half. I've been really good about tracking my food and logging in. My goal this challenge is to make sure I track and post my points in my team. I'd also like to add a day of exercise in. Right now I'm doing 3 days and I'd like to get up to 4 to try to lose the weight faster. My first goal is 147 by end of March. I'm currently at 151. My 2nd goal is 140 by end of April (my bday!!). Definitely do-able! Can't wait to get started again!

My Goodness!! I didn't realize taste could change THAT much.... I sat down with my dear Mother for lunch today and had a Hunk of Beef liver and Onions... I enjoyed it! Most of it anyway- and I can't wait till get some more to make...! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Well, it is Monday and I am back to work. Gym - done, healthy breakfast - done, work - just starting. emoticon I would be happy if every day could be a weekend. I woke up this morning with a renewed feeling of dedication. I have been faltering - it is those dratted Milano cookies. At least I keep to only two when I succumb to temptation. With mid-terms over I now have a great deal of lecturing and new work to cover in my classes. Hope everyone has a great week. emoticon

emoticon on being close to goal. I have a Dr most of you wish you had. He told me, you must get below 170 or I operate on your legs, I would like you below 160. NEVER get below 150, so my advice is to go on maintenance at 160 and let your body find the right number, because no one can set your number. I stay close to 160 and if I'm watching my diet, doing my exercise and feel good, I'm happy. These challenges help me watch my diet and stay honest.

I hate spring forward. They keep moving the times we spring back and forth closer, what if we were always on daylight savings time
