It is winter this morning, but will be warming up. It is too dry to have spring, the grass is dry, no wild flower. It isn't just lack of rain the humidity is in the teens.

Eek!!! Not good, MaryAlice! It was this time last year that I was in Dallas, and everything was so green and luscious that week. I hope there are no fires during this time.

our temps normal for this time of the year, but we are under a burn ban. No rain, humidity is very low. no flowers, no grass, the tress are even slow in leafing out.

My first visit since joining the Challenge. I don't have WiFi at home and I've been very busy at work so no time to log into SP. I use a mobile hotspot at home & though I don't live in a rural area, my signal sometimes is non-existent. So when I am online, I do the necessities here at Spark.

DEBORAH, yours is the only post I can see at the moment. Sorry to read about the terrible storms & tornadoes in Alabama. Happy to read your town wasn't affected by tornadoes but am sorry for the devastation it causes others.

Here in southeast New England we await the 4th nor'easter in 3 weeks, with forecasts of high winds, heavy wet sn*w in the 10 inch range, and possible power outages. Hard to believe spring arrived a few hours ago. I think Mother Nature needs her hormones adjusted!

Looking forward to getting to know y'all. Will try to visit more often.

If you are in an extreme weather area, hope you will be safe. If your weather is normal and springlike, enjoy it for me.

Terrible storms and tornadoes throughout our area last night. We are fine in my town but Jacksonville and Cullman Alabama hit hard by tornadoes touching down! emoticon

JSU MAJOR damages to dorms and more. Thankfully it is spring break and most students not on campus.

Weather rainy today - spring = tornado season here and this year got started with a bang!

I just sent an email to the 2018 Fall Teddy Bear team to encourage them to continue into the next challenge. What I also did was to share a link to my latest blog in hopes that it would also encourage them to continue to not only stick with the challenges, but to not give up on SparkPeople. I may not look like it right now (I've been through a lot in the past 2 years), but I have been a success story both with SP and these challenges. So, please, take a moment to read through my blog, and hopefully you'll receive a bit of encouragement to not give up:

Those poor feet and I bet the legs aren't much better. Mild exercise and stretching to keep the muscles from cramping, but other wise take it easy. A good hot soak with epson salts will help.

I'm exhausted, My daughter took me to the Anaheim Disney parks for 2 days. Day 1 - 16 hours in parks, 36,125 steps; Day 2 - kinda hard, could only do 15 hours, we bailed an hour early with 32,994 steps.
Oh my aching feet!

Well I went to see Tomb Raider on Friday and it was very good. Then on Saturday we went and met my husbands daughter and 3 of her friends and celebrated St. Patricks day, yesterday was grocery shopping and house cleaning and today I am exhausted.

Brenda I have to have good shoes. They make a world of difference. After I broke my ankle, the Dr told me no heals over 1 inch, no sling backs or open backed shoes. Only shoes that had good support. A good pair of running shoes was best, followed by good walking shoes. Dr Shoals even makes a pair that I can wear with slacks. I don't like them with dresses, but they look ok with slacks. I've tried everything up to a $150 pair of shoes. I have found there are a couple good makes in the 25-40 dollar range, but under that they wear out to fast, and I don't see enough difference over that to make it worth the money.

Sorry, been a bit MIA. My part-time side gigs have taken up a lot of time this past week and have had me a bit overwhelmed. I'm hoping to be a bit more *sane* this week.

Anyway, one of my gigs is as a Shipt personal shopper. With that I do a LOT of walking, but my Fitbit Flex 2 that I wear on my wrist was NOT recording my steps since I was holding onto the cart as I did the shopping. Sigh. All those missed steps. Anyway, I ordered a cute, handmade strap for my ankle so I can accurately track my steps.

Anyway, I've done a ton of walking the past two days. My back feels fine, but my ankles are paying the price. However, I have learned that if you wrap an ice pack around your ankle for 15 minutes, it works wonders! Ok, so an Epsom soak helps, too, but this does, as well. But I wonder how bad they'd feel if I had not recently upgraded my shoes to the proper athletic shoes for my type of feet?

Morning all

Sunny today, should reach near 50. Have our start up meeting this afternoon for our camping group. Can't wait for another month and we can go on our first campout. Yippee! Sure hope the weather warms up till then. It's been quite cold the last 2 weeks. Highs only in the 30s most days.

Been sticking to my program pretty well and am teetering between 8 & 9 pounds lost since 1/8. It shows in my clothes as they are fitting much better. I feel better too. Funny how just that little bit can do so much for you.

We have been so short staffed at work for a while now that we've all been working 6 days/week, with an afternoon off to compensate so we don't get overtime. It didn't work last week for me. I had Friday afternoon off, but Saturday we had a late customer that came in 15 minutes until we closed to open an account. We didn't get to clock out until 12:40. Hate that on a Saturday.

This week I get off early tomorrow. Another snow storm is in the works, this one might be the big one. Sure hope it gets done soon. Wednesday I have my annual gyno appt. So far nothing for Thursday and Friday except the gym and work. We'll see.

Hi 2018 Spring 5% Challenge Community,

I've read the rules & see that this is where to ask ?s. I have 2 of them:

1. I just signed up for a team, the Cloverleafs. I see your challenge has started. Is it too late to join?

2. How long does your challenge last? It looks like you started (I think) about 3/5. I am wondering how long your challenge is.

Thank you for your time. I hope you are having a terrific day!

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Phil 2:3-4.

Today was wet off and on. I woke up with congestion from my allergies. Since I have been tired this week I decided to take an easy day. I did an hour of my PT stretches and strengthening. I think it was a good choice as i am feeling better this evening.

It was a beautiful day here in sunny Florida. Got up to 75 or so with lots of sunshine. WooHoo! I'm still having to take it easy from the Rizotomy (spelling) on my back Tuesday. It's hard to stay inside and do nothing... well, I did take the dogs for a walk around the farm.

Good morning challengers. It's overcast and chilly here today. Spring in the Midwest is interesting. Yesterday it was in the upper 60's. Today it's 38 and windy.

Have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend.

The weather has gone wacko here. Normally we are dealing with snow and ice this time of year. Yesterday it was 75 and today is supposed to hit 70.
