@DANLIN60 sorry that you can't see some of the items! I usually delete one's that are too small. Others I can see on smartphone so I leave them because a lot of members use phone.
Can you increase your zoom with out them being too blurry? Some can be enlarged and others can't.

No I don't do meal plans by shopping. Do you? The store I shop at doesn't have an ad. They carry a lot of all time items. But also 1 time only deals. I never know what I'll find.

I had a small amount of cole slaw mix I wanted to use up. I dug a package of stew meat from my freezer. I knew it was getting old but surprised the date was October 2018. I hope it is safe to use as it went in my crock pot with the cabbage & carrots & two cans of vegetable. What do you think?

What do you think of this?
My husband would always tell his friends he was taking me out. Meaning he was building a fire and cooking hot dogs or something! It was a big joke with his friends. We enjoyed sitting by a fire!

Shopping at Sharp Shopper yesterday I found Totinos 4 pack pizza for 2.99. They sell for over 5 at WM. I got 15 boxes. I hope they last for awhile! My GS lives on pizza. 5 lb tubs of Country Crock for 2.49; Campbell's tomato soup 2/1.

Did anyone get anything good at after Christmas Sales?

@LITTLEREDHEN8. That was an excellent price for that much ham! We got 3 hams at Aldi's for $.89/lb so we're happy with that. We, too, use the ham in various ways all year long.

I finally got to the store for the hams. I was able to get 7, shanks and butt ends, last ones. I got 64 pounds for $57. The girl checking me out was young. She asked me why I needed so many. I normally would get upset someone being so nosy, but she was young. I told her I was stocking up. She said you eat ham all year?!! I said yes, that we have bean soup, pot pie (with dough squares) and my husband called it cabin fever stew--ham and potatoes cubed made in gravy. We also do this with sausage or could use burger also.
I guess the girl only has ham at holidays.

I would say we were frugal. My wife thinks we splurged. (We may both be right?)
She wanted to use the credit card to go gift shopping. She rarely asks for money, and there is a holiday approaching, so it seemed ok to me.

A trip to mall and we got 5 or 6 shirts, and toys for 7 or 8 kids... All for about $65. Gifts for over a dozen people for sixty bucks? I thought we got out pretty cheap; my wife thinks it was a lot. In any case we had fun. She is getting used to having money, she even picked out a $6 duck helicopter for no one in particular. (USB recharge, plastic duck, helicopter blades in it's head, no remote, flies with infrared sensors)

The duck helicopter is as crazy fun as it sounds ha ha

And it was great that you had fun while saving your daughter money. Babysitter may feel differently though.

Guess I need to check out the Dollar Tree in my town.

Saving my dear granddaughter some money today. We got a huge dump of snow last night & schools cancelled. Her baby sitter fees are $5.00 an hour. With the boys being there all day that would take a big piece of her pay check. I am always tired when they leave. They have been watching movies today. I fixed breakfast & lunch. Happy I can help her.

@FLASUN. That was a super price for the cards!! I needed a couple of cards for sister and nephew, sent Craig to get them and forgot to tell him to check price! They are beautiful but we're $4.99 and $5.99!!!! York Peppermint Patties are one indulgence Diet-wise that I do have occasionally! Just 1 or 2 in a week does NOT mess up my calorie count and is a special treat.

No, so far I'm just making them to use.
I did sell several small paintings at the art show (half benefits their youth scholarship, which leaves me with enough to keep painting.

This is a view on the way back from our dump!

Making postcards (a 7 cent piece of card stock printed with scans of my drawings and cut in 4 is is cheaper than having them made at a copy shop - probably 3 cents each compared to 10 cents each at the copy shop or whatever they charge at local card shops these days.

I used the sale ads to make out a grocery list. I went to Rulers which is a store of Krogers but cheaper. Most everything was cheaper at Rulers versus the local store. I did go to local store for English muffin bread & a frozen pie for family get together. I spent a little more than $100. which is a lot for me. I hope it last me for several weeks!

Not finding anything at Thrift Store. I did get myself of sketcher mules for $42! I like the heavier built style, not the new kinds they have out. I had my other pair for quite a while and they were coming apart! It's hard to get in my size. I got thru WM. Didn't know they sold them.
I got ham for .99 lb at SS. We make pot pie or bean soup. And I like pot pie bean soup also. Will have 1 for Christmas.

The dry season finally started (the typhoon season is too long ha ha). That means all the summer veggies are coming in. My wife and I went to the wet market (like farmer's market) and everything looked great.

I got 3 heads of lettuce, some onions, cucumbers, 2 kilos of carrots, and a kilo of green beans. All for $5! Good times are here again.

@GRANDMAKARENG. Yesterday sounded like a wonderful time for you! Your son sounds like a very thoughtful man! Watching your great granddaughter dance must have been enjoyable! Wow, that tenderloin sandwich sounded delicious! Great that you got the leftovers to take for an additional meal! I hope your son had a nice birthday!

WE'RE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH OUR DVR, TOO! A few nights ago I had it setup to record 4 programs, and it only recorded 1 of them. We're watching for a good sale on the brand we like, so will be replacing it then. I'm not going to pay full price, just wait for their sale. Good luck with your DVR.

I was extra busy yesterday so am planning a relaxing day today! I hope you have a pleasant Sunday!

I went to my great granddaughters holiday dance program. My youngest son picked me up & we went to a local store for a quick lunch. I got a tenderloin sandwich & boy was it good! It was fun to see son & his family. Son paid for my lunch & ticket to program. He also gave me most of his birthday cake & leftovers from lunch so I have supper waiting for me.

My DVR system is continuing to act up. If I reboot it enough it will come back on so I can watch a movie or two. I was able to watch a good movie called IN HER SHOES last night. I hope it comes back on so I can record shows tonight as two of my favorites are on at the same time. I am thinking about getting programs besides through our local cable company.

Sure - - saved some money today - - not by intent though. Normally go to church on Sundays and drive about 15 - 20 miles - - not today though, so saved on gas. Why did we not go to church? Bad storm, ice, snow, roads bad and we saved even more money because the storm took our power out - - no electricity for almost 3 hours and could not open garage to get car out even if we tried. So saved on gas and saved on utility bill - - - frugal by default!

The TENS unit is a device about the size of a small cell phone. You attach sticky pads to your body & it gives a stimulation that helps with pain control. It is similar to what a chiropractor might use for pain control.

We are just going out to their Caribbean Island - Princess Cay. We will stay on ship because they take smaller boats over to the island and we would get sick going over to it.

I've not heard of Tens Units? What is it?

Today we started off at JC Penney for sales- I found a great deal on my Shampoo/Conditioner I use - nice gift set for $12.99. Plus underwear and a cute white t-shirt.

I purchased the Oscar Mayer center cut bacon 2 for $10 plus got a discount at Target.

We planned on going on a 3 night cruise with the new Princess Sky cruise line. Bought our tickets for leaving Dec 4th. They sent an email if we moved our date up to Dec 1st they would give us a full credit refund onboard to use and refund the rest to our credit card!!! Plus they upgraded us to get a Balcony Suite room. So we will be leaving on Dec 1st and back on the 4th. Savings of $623!!!

I got almost everything I needed at ALDI grocery yesterday. They had just the generic version of Velvetta so I went to the regular grocery for Velvetta. I wanted the best since it is for family not just me. I heard there Sweet Potato casserole is great so I got it. Not many of my family like sweet potatoes but I introduced it to my great grandkids & they love it.

Yes, the dentist does make all the difference. I think I have 13 or 14 lowers left. I tried counting just now. I'll be so glad to finally be done with it, though I don't have any immediate plans. I'm so happy for you getting it done!

Thanks for sharing. I have had the slivers of bone to work out but do not think I have ever had the dry sockets. The dentist sure makes a big difference. I had one older dentist that really struggled to get one tooth out. The next dentist had no problem. I only have four upper teeth now but 11 lower ones.

Yes, all in one day, but I was terrified, so was put to sleep. I'm sure probably some of the back ones had to be cut out, but I'm not sure.

I'm not trying to scare you, but I was in excruciating pain after having them all done at once. The dentist who pulled all my upper teeth didn't tell me about dry sockets. I'm sure that was the problem looking back. When I had the three pulled last year, the dentist gave me a pamphlet about dry sockets, so I now know the reason I probably suffered so (unnecessarily) in the past. Be sure to look up ways to avoid that.

Also, I had bone/teeth fragments that had to work their way out through my gums, which was a little painful, but not excruciating. I would compare it to a baby cutting teeth. I only had that problem with having my upper teeth pulled. I don't know if that's common, or was a problem caused by something that particular dentist did. I didn't have that problem when I had the three pulled last year. (I didn't have a good feeling about the dentist who pulled my uppers and should have went with my gut feeling.)

I'm only telling you this so you can be aware, not to scare you in any way.

I had a LOT better experience last year with the second dentist. I was awake through the extractions and he was so careful to make sure I wasn't in pain. Anyway, I just want you be aware of "dry sockets" so you can avoid them...such as don't drink through a straw, etc.

Please let me know how it goes for you. I hope you have a very good experience and quick healing.
