emoticon ATTENTION ALL "NEW MONTH - NEW ME!" CHALLENGERS and WOULD BE CHALLENGERS -

We are entering the last week of another Challenge - JUNE 2016 Challenge. This Challenge will end on Thursday, June 30th. The JULY Challenge will begin on Friday, July 1st and will end on Sunday, July 31st! If you know you will be joining the July Challenge, or if you've been a Challenge member and don't plan to return in July I'd appreciate knowing that too as soon as you can. Please post this on the "New Month-New Me!" Challenge thread.

I have a request, and I'd really appreciate your cooperation with this - if you decide to quit the Challenge for any reason - illness, vacation, a new member who has decided this isn't the team for them, or any other reason, please, Please send me a Spark Mail (if you don't wish others to know you've dropped out), or you can simply post it on the "New Month-New Me!" Challenge thread if you choose, that you wish to drop out of the Challenge for the current month. When people don't check-in each week/Monday I go checking to make sure that I haven't missed you, and this can go on for days until I'm sure.

If you've never done a Challenge - the Guidelines are on our team home page (Please Do Not Post There as it is for information only), but briefly - you will need to give me your weight as of July 1st. Keep up with your exercise minutes beginning July 1st, and then on Monday, July 4th -report in on the "New Month-New Me!" Challenge thread and give me your minutes for those days. Then each Monday thereafter you will give me your exercise minutes for the previous week, just as you did this time. You might wish to say how you did weight-wise to keep yourself accountable, but I won't need your exact weight again until the last day of the Challenge Sunday, July 31st.

As always I wish for us all a healthy and happy July, and may we find ourselves fitter and lighter when the month ends.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR TOP WINNERS and emoticon for all of the contenders for a job well done.

A NEW CHALLENGE HAS BEGUN! It will run the month of JUNE 2016. The objective is to lose 2 pounds in 1 month (that's an average of 1/2 pound per week). The objective for Exercise is to do some type of "additional" exercise for at least 15 minutes a day - the gym, Curves, exercise video, bike, walking, whatever gets your heart rate up and you deem as "additional" exercise. All you need do is to give me your weight as of
Wednesday June 1st. Start keeping up with your exercise minutes as of the day you join (or the exercise minutes you've accrued since June 1st), and give them to me on the Monday following the day you join. You will keep up with your exercise minutes for each week and give them to me each Monday. We report on MONDAYS on the "NEW MONTH - NEW ME!" CHALLENGE THREAD, and I will keep up with your exercise numbers and give a total at the end of the month. I won't need your actual weight again until the last day of the Challenge Thursday, June 30th.

I sincerely hope that everyone is off to a good start. Remember the key is to devise an eating plan that is within the calorie range Spark People has set for us. Choose foods that are the healthiest for us AND that we enjoy AND are easily prepared. What I've said here is important, as some foods are very nutritious and low calorie, but if we just don't enjoy eating them we won't stick with it. Likewise, foods that take lots of preparation for most of us are a turn-off too. Some of us can't stand as we once could for long periods chopping, dicing, etc; others just don't like to cook, and this is the reason many of us gravitate to foods that take little preparation (often with too many preservatives, salt, fat, and/or sugar). It IS possible to eat healthy, low calorie and enjoy and are satisfied with what we are eating. As for extra exercise, start small and work up very, Very slowly. Find something that will motivate you to keep doing whatever you've chosen - whether it is a gadget like a tracker, or a goal to walk to the next block in your subdivision, read a good book or watch an engrossing TV show while riding a stationary bike, whatever you can do and stick with it. Here's wishing all of us much success with achieving our weight loss and fitness goals.

Please sign me up for June. My starting weight is 132.5. No! I didn't lose 7 lbs over night This has been my weight ever since we got back to CT. I'm using my CT scale and I think the CT water has less sodium in it as well. In all fairness to the rest of the team, I left my weight report at the higher number until a new month came along. When I go back to FL, it will jump back up to 139.

I am Serena. I currently live on a ranch on the Columbia River in NE Washington state and will be relocating to a lodge on the western side of the state this spring.

Shirley,. I won't do the Challenge in June. We have a coupe day trips and we will be away the last week in June. I still will do my best to SOTrack.

emoticon ATTENTION ALL "NEW MONTH - NEW ME!" CHALLENGERS and WOULD BE CHALLENGERS -

It is hard to believe that we are ending another month, but we are, and I'm running late this month with this notification.
We are into the last few days of another Challenge - MAY 2016 Challenge. This Challenge will end on Tuesday, May 31st. The JUNE Challenge will begin on Wednesday, June 1st and will end on Thursday, June 30th! If you know you will be joining the June Challenge, or if you've been a Challenge member and don't plan to return in June I'd appreciate knowing that too as soon as you can. Please post this on the "New Month-New Me!" Challenge thread.

I have a request, and I'd really appreciate your cooperation with this - if you decide to quit the Challenge for any reason - illness, vacation, a new member who has decided this isn't the team for them, or any other reason, please, Please send me a Spark Mail (if you don't wish others to know you've dropped out), or you can simply post it on the "New Month-New Me!" Challenge thread if you choose, that you wish to drop out of the Challenge for the current month. When people don't check-in each week/Monday I go checking to make sure that I haven't missed you, and this can go on for days until I'm sure.

If you've never done our Challenge - the Guidelines are on our team home page (Please Do Not Post There as it is for information only), but briefly - you will need to give me your weight as of June 1st. Keep up with your exercise minutes beginning June 1st, and then on Monday, June 6th -report in on the "New Month-New Me!" Challenge thread and give me your minutes for those days. Then each Monday thereafter you will give me your exercise minutes for the previous week, just as you did this time. You might wish to say how you did weight-wise to keep yourself accountable, but I won't need your exact weight again until the last day of the Challenge Thursday, June 30th.

As always I wish for us all a healthy and happy June, and may we find ourselves fitter and lighter when the month ends.
