Do any of you use baby oil or coconut oil to remove make-up?

I usually use Noxema to remove and them place a layer of night cream on, such as Nicel or St. Ives Collagen Elastin.

Try These home recipes:

1. Take 2 spoons of fuller’s earth, 1 spoon of honey and 1 spoon of milk to form a paste. Smear this mixture all over your face and leave it on for 15 minutes. Then wash off with water. Fuller’s earth closes the open pores; honey and milk hydrate the skin from the inside out to make it softer and beautiful.

2. Soak up marigold petals in water for 2-3 hours. Mash them with hands and add one teaspoon of glycerin to them. Apply on you face and neck for 15 minutes. This homemade skin moisturizer is a powerful skin tonic too.

3. Cut and mash strawberries and add 1 spoon of lemon juice ,half a cup of curd or cream to them. Let this mixture cool in the fridge for half an hour. Then apply this mix on your face and neck; keep it on for 20 minutes. Remove the mask while scrubbing. Your skin will experience an instant burst of moisture.

The spot on my hand was not Psoriasis. But the dermatologists wants me to use gloves when I clean or have my hands in water especially until he gets this cleared up. And he points out that I have extremely dry, thin skin. I also found a better lotion for dry skin. It is CeraVe, made by Coria. There is a lotion and a heavier cream. I got both to try and used the cream last night. I got it at CVS.

A few natural hints for dark circles around your eyes:

1) get enough sleep
2) drink your water
3) pat, don't rub for any reason if you can avoid it
4) cucumber slices are very refreshing
5) avoid soap like the plague
6) gentle, gentle, gentle aroung the eye area

Thanks for that tip. I suspect a recent scaly, dry spot on one knuckle is Psoriasis as my Mother had it. I haven't had time yet to check it out with a dermatologist. I will try that.

For anyone with psoriasis... I have patchy dry skin, but only on my face and it is diet and stress reacting... I found an incredible recipe for soothing and moisturizing, it's simple, start with a clean face... I use alboline because it's so gentle, and then mix honey and a little lime juice together and smooth over face... immediately it will relax the skin. Allow to dry and rinse, simple as that.

Too Faced has a mineral water eye brightener that is a concealer and a dark circle reducer all in one. It works great for me, and it feels wonderful. You can get it at Sephora, or check out this link:

Smashbox Undereye brightner works pretty good. But it's more of a tint then a concealer. I usually use revlon or l'oreal for a heavy concealer.

Thanks for the plucking tips, I always have a problem with trimming the hair at the top of my brows. the brow that extends out after the arch is sparse, but my inner eyebrow is really heavy.

Which Tweezer?

Thin Tip: Good for grasping small, fine hairs, and plucking
ingrown hair.

Slanted Tip: Gives maximum control.

Square Tip: Best used for removing coarse hairs or several
hairs at a time.

1. Tweeze immediately after showering or apply a hot washcloth
to loosen hair follicles.

2.Hold a pencil vertically along the side of the nose. Eyebrow
should start at outside edge if pencil - Anastasia Soare eyebrow
queen.

Hint: Leaving a bit more space will widen close-set eyes.

3.Hold pencil to outside of eye. This is where the eyebrow of a
bombshell should end.
4.Smooth brows with a little moisturizer to help hairs slide out -
turn back the clock.

5.Brush brows up to find a natural arch.

6. Draw in the desired shape beforehand with a soft eye shadow
pencil - Keira Knightley smokey eyes.

Hint: Don't use an eyeliner pencil. It will cause you to pluck too
much.

7.Tweeze under the brow first, plucking in the direction of the
growth.

Hint: If your plucking becomes too painful, apply a little anbesol
(yes, that pain reliever for teeth also numbs the brows)

8.Using an eyelash comb, comb brows upwards and trim any hairs that
extend beyond the natural top or brow bone. Glamorous lashes.

9.After tweezing, soothe the area with cool, wet tea bags.

you can try every other day using a facial exfoliating scrub on yours arms followed by moisturizer. I wait about an hour after exfoliating so pores won't be clogged. I'd also suggest a non fragranced lotion to prevent any rash that might occur.

Question: I don't know what it's called, but does anyone have advice on what's good to get rid of the rough, bumpy skin on upper arms? I know lotion softens the skin, but what about the bumps? They don't itch or hurt, but I believe there's a way to get rid of them. I want to say I read somewhere about using microderm on the arms or something called AMLactin.

Just a little experiment I did that worked...! I heard carrots were good for acne (eating them), and I do still break out in a few pimples sometimes....
My boyfriend loves the juicer. When he was done, I took some of the carrot pulp, mixed it with some water, made it into a paste, and smeared it on and left it for 5 min.s.
Seem crazy? It works! And no, my face did not turn orange!

Hey beautiful!

I have a tip. I was feeling so bad after gaining all this weight and I needed a boost, so after coming across a youtube tutorial for makeup (by mistake) I fell in love with a woman named Marlena and her tips on makeup looks.

Okay, this may sound stupid to you, but I started getting compliments - lot's of them, and it was all after I followed her makeup tips. I even wrote to her.

She has a website too called makeupgeek.com. I am addicted to it!

Our society is so hard on us when we gain weight, and this is a way for you to be beautiful before you FEEL beautiful.

Love your body,

Sarie

Does anyone have any ideas on how to naturally reduce puffiness in the eye area. Mine is mainly hereditary and probably has something to do with my love of salt (I'm trying to cut back...I swear). I have eczema on my eye lids so I can't use typical eye creams. Anyone have any suggestions?

Great tips! We should probably extend some of them out to have their own threads. Really. So much fabulous info!

Anthology- your concern for food for travel is valid. Probably should move it over to fitness as I almost didn't see it here.

But anyway. I travel for work and it's a challenge being good.

Apples are a great travel food. Anything you don't have to wash is also a good food. Oranges and bananas.

Ziplock some healthy snacks. Nuts.

preparation is key to avoid failure. Plan ahead like you are and you'll pack a fine cooler.

I love the last two tips! emoticon

This is more of a health tip than a beauty tip, but still beauty-related:
I have started trying to keep track of how old my makeup is so that when it gets too old, I can replace it with new. I have always tried to do this with my eye makeup so I don't get an infection, but now I am trying to do it with everything. When I start using a new item, I write the date (for example, "may 08") on a small piece of masking tape and stick it somewhere on the product (on the bottom of an eyeshadow compact, side of the lip gloss tube, etc). That way I don't have to sit there months and months later wondering, "just how long HAVE I had this??"

Hello. Does anybody have any tips on firming skin after weightloss. . .other than surgery?? I've heard rumors that alternating warm and cold water in the shower helps, and that mandarin oil helps in cell regeneration, . . . but does anybody else have any ideas??I'm starting to get worried emoticon

Hi I'm new!

I have fairly clear skin but those pores by my nose, on my cheeks between the brows and chin (almost my t zone but my forehead is fine) are huge! I use Biore pore minimising products like the wash lotion and exfoliator- that once a week.

I use an asprin maybe 2 times a week because its salycitic (s/p) acid and it works for a day. Glycolic acid seems too expensive at sephora.

Any ideas?

I am ALL ABOUT moisturizing! Hehehehe... I have a few tips for you... from your hair down to your little toes, that will keep you softer than you've ever been. And, it is simple and inexpensive.

HAIR - unless you use a ton of product in your hair, shampoo at the roots only. Take 30 seconds for a fingertip massage on your scalp (feels GOOD!). Rinse. Now apply your favorite conditioner to your ENDS first, and then move up a lil to your roots (don't need a lot there because your scalp produces oil) At least 3 times a week, I leave it on while I finish the rest of my shower, for a little extra-deep moisture. RINSE WITH COOL WATER (TEPID). This closes your strands and leaves your hair shiny. If you blow-dry, do so on a cool-warm setting... never hot.

Face - Use a moisturizing cleanser, twice a day. IMMEDIATELY after, apply your favorite moisturizer, while your skin is still "damp and dewy". This helps seal in the moisture.

Shaving - use your hair conditioner instead of soap or shaving cream. Allow the conditioner to sit for 30 seconds on your legs (or wherever) before you begin to shave. If you do this after cleansing, you've gotten a head start on your after-shower moisturizing!

Body - Use an opaque cleanser, rather than a clear one. The opaque cleansers typically have more moisturizers in them. You also don't need to "soap-up" what isn't dirty... wash the important parts, and the water rinse is enough for areas like arms and legs, especially if you shower daily. Again, IMMEDIATELY after you towel off, apply your favorite moisturizer while your skin is still "damp and dewy" - this makes all the difference in the world!

For feet and elbows, use a thicker moisturizer/body butter at the same time you apply all-over moisturizer. My pedicurist swears by "Vicks" vapor-rub on the heels, because the menthol helps to open the pores, while the petrolatum softens the skin. An of course, a quick once-over with a pumice stone in the shower (after your skin has been wet for a few minutes) will help slough off those calluses. I also like "Udderly Smooth" cream, because it is lighter, absorbs well, and isn't greasy.

The last, but not least, important part of soft skin is to drink pkenty of water! Moisturize from the inside-out.

Hope these tips help!

I go the the steam room at my gym 3 times a week to clean my skin.

If your eyes look puffy or swollen, wash your face and cover your eyes with sliced potatoes or cucumbers for a few minutes. This is really effective in the morning
Her is a site of everything u need to know if u have problems whit puffy eyes

My favorite body scrub is just something everyone can make at home, Olive oil, sea salt, In if u have tired skin, then little honey (very little) our u can but camilla te bags in your olive oil and salt, and then just scrub your body and rinse of.

Never Underestimate the Power of Moisturizer!!!

I think im addicted to makeup. But I buy all cheap stuff. However i recently learned a BIG lesson. Money spent does matter on makeup. I bought a new MAC eyeliner and shadow last weekend. While they were expensive they are beautiful! It really makes my eyes stand out and it stays on and the colors are to die for!

Hey ANBERLIN,

The two best methods I've used are:
Cucumbers and Tea bags.
I like the Tea bags because I can drink the tea while the wet bags are on my face. It makes for an extra relaxing experience... mmmm :)

Use some that have mint in them for an extra boost.

All m'love

I found this site, and I have made 3 of the "spa recipes" and they are fun, smell great, and are easy and cheap!! I made the chocolate body polish and one of the body scrubs, along with a salt soak... I intend on making more this weekend and having a "spa day" at home :o) Very relaxing and very fun!!!

I would recommend looking into MUFE (Make Up For Ever), you can get it at Sephora, if I remember correctly they have a palette to help get the best coloring for you, depending on each part you are covering up. Good luck!

Question!!!!

I have dark under eye circles and I have had them forever! What I find works best is yellowish liquid cover up. However I look yellow and have to cover that up with my regular cover up. And somehow after all that, the darkness still shines through.

My Question:
What is the best makup for covering up dark under-eye circles and where can it be found????

I don't know where to buy makup I guess emoticon

I have extremely dry skin ~ read ASHY!!!! So I use Nivea in the little post, not the pump. I have the creme for when I'm extremely dry and the whipped for daily use.

Hey Skinny'
... Not at all. I'm not sure why but I think it's because the pores are already clean and wide open from the warm water... so the oil goes in but the skin won't absorb any more than it can... that means that with everything wide open your SKIN decides how much stays and how much gets wiped away.

It does feel funny the first couple times, because you're not used to it... but resist the urge to wash again. The first week I had to get up in the morning and wipe extra oil off my face, (my face was used to overproducing oil because the moisturizer wasn't enough... I didn't even know) But after that, your skin will be amazingly soft!
It does take a lot of courage... the fear of a righteous breakout is very real, but just hang in there. Your skin may surprise you.

If you want something REALLY amazing then exfoliate with your cleanser first (I use shower gloves and Spearmint Soap... cool and refreshing)!!
Anyhoo, this is how things worked for me... I'm not even sure how many types of skin there are. But I do know that MOST people have dry skin (and it either stops producing oil, or produces too much) I thought I had "bad", "oily" skin... turns out that it just needed to be balanced.

(Good grief I'm long winded... just can't stop myself)
Happy Grooming,
Hazel

Hi Hazel. Don't you get clogged pores? I do that for the rest of the body as well...but I use variations of almond/and vitamin E oil... stuff like that.

Upon return from Hawaii I did use it on the face as I was tan and a little burned (and worried)...

Hmmm. Maybe I experiment a little more :)

I'm only as strong as the coffee I drink and the hair spray I use...

If you want something that's great AND inexpensive try baby oil...
I know, I know... eew right?

Well, a year ago I started doing that 'baby oil after the shower but before you towel off' thing. When I ran out of facial moisturizer one day I had no other choice. So I slathered myself up and then used the access that was on my hands to moisturize my face.
It was soooo smooth, and didn't get oily at all because I toweled off the excess.
Now I swear by it, and my complexion has never been better. I realized that if you TREAT your face like the skin on the rest of your body, then it will LOOK like the skin on the rest of your body.

I made this a sticky topic. It should have been eons ago :)

My favorite new rave is Retinol A. I know, it's harsh...but careful use does wonders for problematic pimple areas as well as fine lines.

I got it as a "sorry i kept you waiting' gift from the laser hair removal clinic...... and I swear by it now.

:) Okay it wasn't really a tip, and should have gone under product rave :)

They do have a moisturizer. My skin is oily, so I don't use one much, but when I did use it that was one of the best ones I came across.
