I've finished week 5 and let me tell you that 20 minute run seems impossible. I completed it and didn't think I was going to die. My suggestion is if you feel like you're running out of steam slow down the pace a little. Who cares how fast you're going. You can do it!

I'm 61 as well and new to this too. I finished day 1 without hurting myself and managed to still be upright at the end. I may not be able to get out of bed in the morning, but it felt pretty good while I was running. I'm really excited about this.

So glad to see you working C25K. No worries about the 20 minute run. If you need to take a 30 second pause and keep moving. Eventually you will be able to run the whole time. Good Luck

I want to be a runner because in my heart I feel like it is the most basic of all exercises. It is just you and your brain making sure your body moves as you tell it to. It is just you and your heart, making sure that you feel what your body is telling your brain. It is just you and the elements -- sunshine, critters, and wind on my favorite days; rain and cold on my least favorite. You and you alone are getting from point A to point B.

I want to be a runner and I'm willing to work on it. I finished W5D1 yesterday and I joined this group today. I am brand new to being a runner but my dream of being a runner is not. I am ready to take it on. One day at a time, one run at a time, one stride at a time.

What a great place to be!

emoticon You're already on W5 and that's halfway! emoticon Just take it a day at a time and listen to your body. I'm turning 60 this month and I take things slowly but know I can do it. I did my first triathlon last summer. Be positive and determined! emoticon

Good morning- I'm on week 5 of C25k. I'm 61 and have never run in my life! I do have two children 1 has run 9 marathons and the other is in the marines so does some running. I've set a 5K ( not one in particular) as a goal for myself. Hoping to lose some weight at the same time. I'm a little nervous about running the 20 min at the end of this week.
