Hi! I'm just starting out on this new program. I walked 30 minutes briskly this morning and then tracked all my calories and fitness online to stay in range. Hope everyone had a great day! emoticon

Kitrona, welcome aboard, so happy to have you as the new team leader!

To all of you starting this program, good luck and happy running. I'm on week 4 which I thought would be a killer but I breezed through the runs today even though it was very humid (my worst nightmare)!
Yesterday, just did my daily walk and felt exhausted so who knows why one day is better than another.
Just don't give up!

Kitrona,

Glad to see posts on this board. I'm new to spark people, literally just stared with it Monday of this week though I made an account 3 years ago and never used it. I do a couch to 5k every spring but I'm just getting started this year. I'm in week 2 and I'm looking forward to the motivation of this group!

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this running thing. I haven't ran since high school soccer. This is my challenge to push me beyond by treadmill habit.

Welcome to the group, so glad to have a new leader.

I've been away from spark for quite a while and am just getting back. I've crept back up in my weight and have re-started my efforts the middle of June. I am now on a downward trend.

I have continued running off and on over the past year but have re-focused my efforts. I have worked my way back to week 8. Hope to be back at week 9 next week.

Don't be afraid to take it slowly and repeat weeks if you have to, I know I needed to repeat some weeks. Just remember to listen to your body, not your mind. Your mind will talk you out of anything.

Welcome KITRONA as our new fearless leader :)

I just wanted to post that I've recently started back up on SP as of 2 weeks ago, slowly getting back into the groove and re-started my exercise by working out on my TM doing a 30 minute brisk walk/climb for my first 2 weeks to get into the swing of things since I'm horrifically out of shape.

As of this past Monday the 9th, after finishing the above cycle, I decided to start back on Couch to 5k program and so far I am on Week 1, Day 2. My goal is to change my mindset and learn to love exercise in some way, shape or form and I really want to run a 5k by the end of the year.

I have much weight to lose but deep down inside I am confident that THIS is the year of my destiny. I am 44 years old and time is flying by and this year I want to actually accomplish something hard...something I've always longed to do but never finished.

I wish for all of you to really dig deep and join me on my journey....let's make it OUR journey and REALLY do this!

browsing through some comments thought i'd add my $.2 ,
for those starting slow you are moving faster than being on the couch

i did the 2c5k on my own
but then a year later my church started a run for God program ,,which teaches you to run a 5k,let me tell you if you can find a group, this is soooo much more fun,i'm still slow, but i'm not alone

Hi, Kitrona -
I joined this group the other day and hope we can revive it. With 10K team members, we should have some lively conversations!

I'll be happy to help however I can - just stay the word.

Hi! I'm completely new here (again). I completed the C25K program 3 times before, once every year. 3 years in a row. But then something happens and I quit running (and moving all together, unfortunately). It has now been over a year since I stopped, which puts me right back to the beginning. I started W1D1 last Saturday, and it turned out I had a fever during my run, which is why I couldn't complete it. But I'm determined to try again as soon as I lose this fever. I hope it will stick this time.

Sammi, I am doing the C25K over and over, increasing my treadmill speed just a bit each time. It is keeping the weight loss going, instead of stalling, and it lets me continually keep challenging myself. I really do like it! :)

Hi new team leader! I'm still new to the group. Going out to do my week 4 work of an 8 wk C25K program. Looking to see what this group is all about.

Sammy: I am doing it slowly as well. I average about one day on the program per week. I use it in addition to other work outs..so if I need to do weights (which is 20-30 mins) I will do one session of the C25K and get a quick cardio in that way..made it to week 5 so far, so good.

Good luck!

I'm doing what might be the slowest ever C25K... I am increasing by the month instead of by the week. So I should be done around October-ish.

I'm very unfit so I need to build slowly. And I've got about 100lbs to lose, so I'm very interested in pampering my knees. Don't want a blow out when the momentum has finally shifted in my favour emoticon

That is great. I am on week three but it is going a little slow. I am battling bronchitis. I am signed up to run my first 5K on 3/2/14.

Like it says, I'm the new team leader. It was kind of an accident, but it looks like this group could use some new blood. Anyway, I'll be 36 in July, with a 6 year old son living at home and a 15 year old living with his dad, plus I'm married and have two cats who think they're human. So that's where I'm coming from.

I'm certainly open to suggestions on ways to improve the group page, or things you want to see more or less of, or even if you guys think someone else would be a better team leader. This is my first time leading a SparkTeam, so I'm learning as I go and trusting that if I mess up, someone will tell me (hopefully politely!) what I'm doing wrong and how they suggest I should fix it.

I'm not going to come in and start deleting everything and changing everything. Partly because I don't know how! But also because it's not MY group, it's OUR group, and I'd like to be able to work with the group to keep everyone happy and motivated, at least as it pertains to the group. (Sorry, I don't quite know yet how to keep people happy and motivated as a whole. I'll get back to you on that one!)

So... yeah. Hi!
