Good Evening

Today has been a quiet day here. This morning I cleaned up my emails on the computer. Then I made spoon burgers and put four meals of it into the refrigerator. I eat it for my different meals during the day. I cleaned up the kitchen this morning while the spoon burgers were simmering for a half our. I have been doing my walking exercises in the house today. I'm also doing odds and ends of things that I need to get done at the beginning of the year.

This morning it was cloudy, after hard rain all night. The sun even tried to come out for a very short time. Early this afternoon it started rain again. There are a lot of rivers flooding here in Western Washington. Now the weather forecasters are talking about lowland snow by Thursday. The temperature here was 50 degrees today but the temperature is going to be dropping in the next couple of days.

Good evening

I had PT again today. I told the therapist that I was on my feet most of yesterday. He asked how I did. I told him that I did ok, but sacked out in the recliner as soon as I got home. So he was a little easier on me today, but just a little. I imagine he'll make up for it on Thursday. lol He had me do a bunch of stretches and one really hard exercise. For the most part he really pushes me.

It's a rainy, yucky day. It was supposed to snow, but it's too warm for snow.

Good evening!

Considering everything, the funeral went well. It was at the funeral home. Before the funeral, I picked up meat, salads, and condiments from the grocery store. Then my husband and I set up tables as well as the serving table. I had plates, napkins, etc. and all the food out, except those that needed refrigerated. Marlene also helped. Then went to the funeral home. The funeral was late starting. We left when they started the last viewing. Years ago, when i worked for a florist, I saw a baby in a coffin and I don't want to see it again.

We went back to the church, to get the rest of the food out and do the final touches. Food was plentiful and the family took most of the leftovers home. There was lots of thank you'd and hugs. All in all I was gone from 9 this morning until 3 this afternoon. Other than during the funeral and the little time I took to eat, it was all on my feet. My feet are up now.

Marlene's husband picked up Bernie from the hospital and brought her home. I'm glad I didn't have to go get her.

Tomorrow afternoon I have PT.

Good Evening

This morning I went to a early breakfast meeting with women from church. We meet at the Tumwater Valley Golf Club restaurant. Our special speaker was a couple from our church who work with the homeless here in Olympia. The husband is a retired social worker who has done this type of work for years. His wife is a retired Methodist pastor. He had an interesting talk and told us what is happening in the local community. After the meeting i went to Fred Meyer to look for fresh snap peas. They didn't have any, but I got m green bananas and met two other ladies who where looking at the green bananas. It turns out we all like the texture of green bananas and not ripe ones. I thought I was the only one who eats the harder bananas. I also got some bacon bits to bring to our UMW luncheon on Wednesday. Our group that met this morning is in charge of bringing the food for the luncheon. We are having baked potatoes and salads. This afternoon I did my November and December best losers for TOPS and figured out the fourth quarter weight losses and who was the best loser for the fourth quarter.

It has been raining hard all day. As of 5:00 p.m. We have had 2 1/2 inches of rain and it is still raining hard. Snow is being forecast starting this coming weekend.

Good Evening

I went to church and then Sunday school this morning. We had an interesting discussion in our Sunday school class today. Our class is called Faith Links and each week we have a different topic for discussion and how our faith reflects on that topic. It also brings in what the Bible has to say about the topic. There are adults of all ages and backgrounds in our class so it is fun to hear what everyone says. After that I went to Barnes and Noble. I ordered a book for myself and bought a couple of beginner reader books for one of our grandsons. He is in kindergarten and has a birthday coming up in a couple of weeks. Then I went over to Olympics West for the church service. I found out that one of the ladies that was a regular attendee had died a couple of weeks ago. I knew she was in the hospital, but the staff doesn't give out any information about their residents. One of the other residents mentioned it today. After Olympics West, I went to Costco to gas my car up and went into the warehouse to get a few things I was out of. Then I went to Walmart and got my guavas.

It was cloudy and rainy today, with a couple of sun breaks. The temperature was in the 40s, but felt cooler.

Good evening

What a mess this funeral is. Anika, the mother of the baby, is letting the baby's father's mother make a lot of the decision. So the funeral is at the church, no, its at the funeral home, now its back to the church. What a mess! The last decision is Anika's. It makes it easier with the dinner afterwards.

Everything is set for the dinner. We went down to Costco to get a few supplies. They won't get anymore dinner rolls for another 2 weeks. So we went to Walmart and got enough of them for the dinner. I have a few things to pick up early tomorrow and take them to the church. .

Good Evening

This morning I finished up my Tops resumes, got them put in order and mailed off to our coordinator. It feels good to have that done and sent in early. We had a couple of members with good weight losses this past year. Most everyone else had small losses. After going to the post office, I stopped at the credit union and then Starbucks at our Safeway. I got my unsweetened, hot tea. I did three loads of laundry this afternoon. I have been going up and down the stairs to the basement this afternoon with the laundry and doing some cleaning. It has been raining on and off during the day. The temperature today was in the mid 40s.

Good Afternoon

Today my focus has been on organizing a dinner for the funeral for Baby Sofia. I think its done. The funeral will be on Monday. With such short notice, our church decided on sliced ham and beef, with potato salad, Macaroni salad, veggie trays, rolls, and cake. Part of it will be from Costco. All will be purchased. This is going to be a very difficult funeral and I have to be strong and I don't feel strong. Mary, my friend. is a long time friend. I watched Josh, her son, grow up and her grandchildren grow up. All of them has been in my Sunday School class.

Good Evening

This morning I had an acupuncturist appointment. He worked on my deltoid muscle in my right shoulder and down the right arm. It feels a little better tonight. After my appointment, I stopped at Michael's and then Fred Meyer. When I got home, my husband and I went for a walk around the neighborhood. It was in the low 50s this afternoon and it didn't start raining until early evening. I finished my TOPS Resume paperwork before dinner. After dinner I went up to West Olympia to the FedEx/Kinko store to make copies of the resume pages. I will get all of it sent into our coordinator tomorrow. It feels good to have all that done.

It is raining hard now and the wind is supposed to pick up and be strong tonight.

Good Evening!

Its been ANOTHER one of those days. First, I Slept in! So I missed my morning exercises. I got breakfast and my coffee. Then, I thought a good vigorous walk would help me in the slump. I was almost got home when my husband called saying Bernie wanted to go to ER with the same thing thats been going on. There went our plans. I took her up and stayed awhile, then called someone else to see if she could take Bernie home if they don't admit her. So I left the hospital. My husband and I went to Missoula. We didn't eat lunch like we usually do. I grabbed a protein shake and some fruit before we left. That was my lunch. I later called the hospital to ask what was going with Bernie. They were going to admit her to the hospital. Then I called Marlene to let her know. I also called Bernie's daughter to let her know.

We're going out to eat tonight ... I think I need it!

Good evening

I have been working in the house today. I took down all of my Christmas decorations and got them all repacked in the storage boxes and my husband put the boxes back in the attic. My husband bought a new tree just after Christmas, so he took our old one to Value Village tonight. I went to our TOPS meeting tonight. This was our first weigh in of the year. We had a meeting where we did some planning of things that we are going to do this year. We started a Bingo game that involves losing weight, exercise and drinking water. We are also going to do an activity each month as a group. For the month of January we are going to go bowling as a group.

It was cloudy here this morning and started to rain about noon. It is raining hard tonight. It was in the 50s here again today so it is warmer than normal.

Good evening!

I had PT this afternoon and it went well, but he really worked me over. The good side is that he got my knee to move to 140 degrees and thats the most he's ever seen with a knee replacement. I'm getting close to an end to the PT. He gave me the lecture to keep doing the exercises after I'm done with pt and I will be doing them.

We stopped at Josh's home (Mary's son) with some supper for them. They are all doing much better today. The initial shock is over. Anika even laughed today. Josh was sneaking a cookie and I said You can't have that, its for dessert. He was shocked until he saw I was kidding him. He smiled and still ate the cookie. they're doing better.

Good Evening and Happy New Years

I was home all day again today. I cleaned the kitchen this morning and then I have been putting birthdays, anniversaries and meeting dates into my new planner. I started taking down some of my Christmas decorations although I want to keep them up longer. My husband wants to take everything down on New Years Day. This afternoon our youngest daughter and her husband stopped in on their way back to Bellingham from Yachats, Oregon. They spent three nights down there. While they were here, my husband took them across the street to meet our neighbors. This neighbor gave us a loaf of homemade sourdough bread for Christmas and our daughter and son in law had tasted it. They have been trying to make sourdough bread. Our neighbor gave them some starter for the bread and is going to send our daughter her recipe. She also gave them some tips for making it, so our daughter and son in law were excited. They both like to cook and bake and are always trying new recipes. Sandy and Will and their dog left shortly after that.

It was partly cloudy and unseasonably warm here today.

Good Morning and Happy New Year

I got up this morning and thought I would watch the Rose Parade, something I haven't done in years. That didn't happen! I got a call shortly after 8 this morning from Josh, Mary's son. Mary is my elderly friend. Josh was trying to contact his mother. His granddaughter, Sophia, died during the night. Sophia was born on Thanksgiving Day. She was born healthy, but early. She was a healthy baby. There are no words for the grief. Mary is deaf in one ear and near deaf in the other. Unless she has her hearing aid in, she don't hear phone or doorbells. I told Josh that I would go out to see Mary and , if needed, take her to his home. He lives 25 miles away. When I finally got Mary up, and told her the news, she took it well. I told her to call Josh and then make a decision. I ended up taking Mary to Josh's home. I went into hug everyone. Anika, the baby's mother, was on the couch, in an almost fetal position and crying. Of course everyone was crying. There are no words for times like this. I didn't stay long. I'm now emotionally drained.

Good Evening and Happy New Year!

I have been home all day today. It has been raining hard here all day. It has also been windy, but no damage in our immediate area. I have been working on my TOPS paperwork for the new year. I did all of the new resume charts for our group so they are ready to be signed on Thursday evening at our first weigh in of the year. I also figured out the losses and gains for the 2019 year. I haven't done the resume that is sent to the coordinator and then to TOPS headquarters yet. We had a couple of members who had good weight losses this past year. A quick estimate showed that our group will have a net loss of about 6.5 pounds per person. We only had two members that gained weight and the rest were smaller losses. That is better than we have done for several years. I will need to finish the resume tomorrow and then on Thursday I will go and make copies of everything so I can get it sent to our coordinator.

I am spending a quiet night at home tonight. I will watch the ball drop in New York City in a while. I have a few little projects to work on in my TV room. My husband went to his usual Tuesday night dance, so I'm not sure what time he will be home.

Good afternoon and Happy New Year and Happy New Decade!

I just got home from my PT. the therapist said that I might be done in a couple weeks. He's really impressed with my progress. It makes sense because he was impressed with my range of motion on my first PT session. Its all in the exercise BEFORE and after surgery. He was saying that he wished that they (Social Security and Insurance) would allow PT before surgery for Knee Replacement because its so much better for the patient. In a way, with all the exercising I was doing before surgery, I was doing my own PT. It makes me feel good that I did something right!

Its a rainy dreary day today. This morning it was snowy.

Sorry for your son losing his cat. I know how hard it is.

Good Evening

Today has been a mixed emotions day. Early this morning I got a call from my son. They wanted me to come over to their house about noon to take care of the baby. Their old cat, 18 years old, was at the end of her life and they had an appointment to have her put to sleep. I got up, took a shower and got dressed. My husband and I walked over to the local coffee shop to get our free 12 ounce cups of coffee to bring home. Our medical center was offering free coffee at several local coffee shops for two hours on each Monday morning during December for everyone to promote their opening of the new West Olympia clinic. After we got home, I had breakfast and was reading my emails. About 10:00 my son called and wanted me to come earlier because Paris had died at home. They were going to take her body to the vet in Yelm to be cremated. I finished breakfast and went to their house. They had a few errands to run after they went to the vet. I had fun with Lars and their dog, although the dog knew something was going on. I left the house around 3. I stopped at the little Walmart on the way to their house and then went into Lacey to Target. I got a couple of things from our nephew and his wife's baby gift registry. They are expecting a little boy in March. My daughter in law is saving the newborn clothes that Lars has out grown to give to them.

After I got home, I ate dinner and have been getting some things done that I had planned on doing today. It was cloudy today. There is a big wind/rain storm coming in off the ocean tonight and is supposed to be stormy tomorrow. Hopefully nothing unexpected comes up tomorrow so I will be able to work on my TOPS yearly resumes and all of the other end of the/ beginning of the new year paperwork necessary for TOPS.

Good Morning!

I might have a very busy day. I'm taking Mary to a doctor appointment in a little while. Afterwards, we might be making a "flying" trip to Zootown for some end of the year business. But we might do it tomorrow. For now, we're waiting for a phone call. It should have been done earlier this month, but because of the knee replacement, PT, lack of energy, and Christmas shopping, it just didn't get done.

Google says its clear out, but it's cloudy ... which means that above the high fog, its clear. Leave this valley and it'll be clear.

Good evening

This has been another busy weekend. Yesterday I did laundry and got beds made. Our youngest daughter and her husband came late afternoon to spend the night with us. They called our son and daughter in law, and they came over with Lars. Sandy, Will John T and Chloe walked over to the pizza place a couple of blocks from our place for a late dinner. John T and Chloe left Lars with my husband and I to babysit. He was so smiley and alert for quite a while. He is starting to "talk" now when I talk to him. I am starting to see his personality come out with how he wants to be held. He wants to see everything. He fell asleep just before everyone came back.

This morning Sandy and Will left our house about 7:30. They were going to the south central Oregon coast for a couple of nights. We got a picture of their dog on the beach after they got to where they are staying. He looked like he was enjoying running on the beach. They will stop here on New Years Day on their way back to Bellingham. I went to church this morning. We only had one service and no Sunday school today. After church I went to Office Depot and bought a new address book. I need to update my old one. Then I went to Olympucs West for the church service there. We had a couple of new residents at the service today. After that, I went to Walmart and got some green guavas. They will be ripe in a couple of days for me to eat with my breakfast this coming week.

It was cloudy today, but the temperature was fairly mild. The weather people are forecasting that by Tuesday, there will be a big rain-wind storm coming in.

Good Afternoon

What a day! This morning, after I got to church, I called Bernie to see if she needed some help going to Church. No she wasn't feeling good. In fact she called the ambulance to take her to ER. Then after church, I went to the hospital to bring her home. After I got her home, I made a few calls to let everyone know. Then I walked just under 2 miles, slower than yesterday because of snow on the streets. Most places weren't slick But I had to be extra careful at the intersections. Thats been my day!

Good Morning!

I walked my first solo walk this morning! I walked about 2 miles (longer than with my husband) and at a faster pace than I would have with my husband. It was very invigorating! I think I'll keep it up as long as the weather and lack of ice allows me (February is usually the worst) . Winter is a hard time to keep up outside walking.

We are expecting snow almost everyday for the next week,

I went to West Olympia about noon today. I stopped at AAA and then I went to JoAnn's. I found a fleece printed with space rockets to make pajamas for one of our twin grandsons for his birthday. The two grandsons that got fleece pajamas from me for Christmas like theirs so well, they wan to wear them all the time. Then I went to Fred Meyer in Tumwater to get some hamburger so I can make my spoon burgers.

It has been cloudy and cold all day. It has been trying to rain off and on during the day.

Good morning

We are traveling home today. The temperature dropped during the night, so it was 5 when I got up this morning. It was a little foggy so there is frost on the trees which in the sun is beautiful. Good day for traveling.

@JPISME , I'm so happy you are joining us. Thanks for the tip for fit bit. I did check it when I was vigorously massaging my knee last night. The steps didn'tadd up at all with it. . I had a knee replacement on November 1 and I massage the knee and surrounding area daily. It helps with healing.

@7STIGGYMT what a thoughtful gift. I'm sure you will figure it out. When you get it going watch for false steps (I know someone who figured out that while knitting every stitch is s step).

@LAH1222 sounds like an amazing day filled with many blessings. Hope you enjoyed your rest day.it is nice that you had meetings still. My chapter had last one on the 16th.

As for me, I have a hard time remembering to come on SP. I am working on this as it is a wonderful community. I joined TOPS in October and finished year with a loss.

I'm debating going back to school to finish my bachelor's degree. Not to pursue a career but to finish it. Had an internship left but as a single mom I couldn't make it happen. I've got two online schools I'm considering that are good but in my price range. Online schools are getting smart about the final step and m as king it better for working adults.

I'm great at starting projects and not completing them so this is the change I am making in the coming year. Not a resolution but a life change, like getting healthy and fit.

Wishing anyone who reads this a happy day, hugs :0)

I believe in you.
Have a Happy Day! HUGS

Today was a relaxing day. The past few days have been busy with getting ready for Christmas, having all five of our children and their spouses and children here, Christmas Eve dinner and opening presents with 19 people here, two families and two dogs staying here, and traveling to Seattle yesterday for Christmas Day brunch and opening Christmas stockings. On Monday I finished up wrapping all of the Christmas presents and cleaned house. Monday afternoon our daughter, her family and dog cam from eastern Washington. On Monday evening our daughter, her family and dog came from Bellingham. We sat up later and visited. Tuesday morning our other two daughters and their families came from Seattle and Woodinville. Our daughter in law and new grandson came about noon. Our son had to work until 4:30, so he came after work. We ate dinner about 1:30 and sat around and visited. All of the adults, except me, went for a walk. I stayed home with six of the grandchildren while they were watching a movie on TV. After our son got here, all of the grandkids started opening their Christmas presents. It was fun to watch the reactions of the kids as they opened their presents. When the two grandsons opened the pajamas I sewed for them, they immediately went and put them on. Watching the grandkids open their presents is, to me, what Makes Christmas fun. It brings back great memories of Christmases when I was growing up and we spent the evening with my aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents.

On Christmas Day we went to Seattle to our second daughter's house. We hadn't been there before, so it was nice to see it. Our daughter and her family from Bellingham weren't there, but everyone else was. We had a nice brunch and then the adults exchanged white elephant gifts. That has become our tradition for Christmas Day. Later everyone got to open their Christmas stockings. It was a fun day and the cousins had fun playing with each other. My husband and I got back to Olympia about 4:00. Our daughter and family from eastern Washington stayed in Seattle last night so the two boys could play longer. They headed over the mountains this morning because my son in law has to work tomorrow.

Today I did some TOPS paperwork. We had our last meeting of the year tonight. I had a little gain, but I still lost for the year. I also washed the sheets from the beds in the basement this afternoon.

It was cloudy and cold here today. The temperature only got into the high 30s today and it was trying to rain when I came home from TOPS.

Good Morning!

We're traveling to our son's home today. So I don't have a lot of time this morning. Roads should be good for the next week in Montana. We're having such mild weather. As cell coverage allows while traveling, I might pop in a and out later today.

Good evening

Today has been a busy day. I went to church this morning. The music was really good this morning. Then I went to Sunday school. We were a small group in our class, but we had an interesting and thought provoking discussion. After that I went to JoAnn's and got a few ornaments to put in Christmas stockings. Then I went to Barnes and Noble and got a book for one of our grandsons. I went to Olympics West for the church service. After the service I gave each resident at the service a little bag of cookies that I had made. I took them it was my birthday treat for them. I went to Walmart after and then stopped at Safeway on my way home. When I got home, a couple of our neighbors brought over homemade savory cookies and a fresh baked loaf of sourdough bread. I called our daughter and grandson in eastern Washington. They are coming over here tomorrow. While I was talking to them, my oldest brother called me to wish me a happy birthday. My sister sent me a text message early this morning to wish me a happy birthday. Tonight one of my nieces in Minnesota sent me a picture of her four month old son and wished me a happy birthday. It has been a good day.

It was cloudy here this morning and started raining again about 2:00. At least we had a few hours of dry weather so some of the flooding started to go down a little.

Good afternoon!

This is a typical Sunday. I taught Sunday School, then we all attended the Worship Service. Everyone was asking about Bernie. I mentioned that she might need a way home over the next week. We're going to be at our kids home that is about 3 hours away. The only thing different is that I will be making some fudge soon.

Its so warm here. In the 50s! thats almost unheard of for December in Montana. All our snow has melted.

Good evening

It is now 10:31 pm in Olympia. The past couple of days have been busy ones for me. On Friday morning I had a acupuncture appointment. After that I finished up some shopping. When I got home, I called my youngest brother back. He called me while I was waiting at my appointment. He called to wish me an early happy birthday. I wished him a belated birthday as his was on the 14th, but he was in Minnesota playing the organ for a choir concert and church service. My birthday is tomorrow, Sunday. After I talked to my brother, my husband took me out for my birthday dinner. We went to "happy hour " at a restaurant downtown on the waterfront. Then we stopped at Safeway on the way home and got a slice of carrot cake. We split the slice and had cake and coffee at home. I almost finished sewing a pair of shark pajamas for our grandson, Jack.

Saturday I sewed a pair of pajamas for our grandson, Noah. I also did three loads of laundry. I finished Jack's pajamas. After dark, my husband and I drove around West Olympia and Tumwater and looked at Christmas lights. When we got home, I finished Noah's pajamas. Then I baked a batch of sugar cookies. I am going to give each resident at the church service at Olympics West a bag of three sugar cookies. It is my treat to them for my birthday.

We have had a lot of rain the past few days. I think here in Olympia we had between 7 and 8 inches of rain.

Good Morning!

I'll be baking and making fudge this afternoon. I should go visit Bernie in the hospital. I have her mail. Not much else going on today. I don't want to tire myself out again like I did last week.

Good afternoon

I haven't accomplished a thing today. First of all, I slept in and skipped my morning workout, thinking I would get to it later. First thing that prevented that was one of my sons called. So we talked awhile. Next my cousin from Spokane called to talk. We haven't talked for awhile so that was a loooong conversation. By then it was almost noon. I fixed lunch, then after lunch, I talked my husband into a mile walk. Thats the most accomplishment that I've done today! But I got over tired every day this week. Today, nothing was planned. So nothing got done. I needed a day of rest. So tomorrow, I'll be baking again.

Good evening

This morning I went to Costco and got a protein powder that my nutritionist recommended to me. I also stocked up on more snacks for next week when all of our children and grandchildren are here. They all check out my pantry, especially when they are here over night. I found out that our youngest daughter and her family, and our third daughter and her family will be here on the 23rd. Everyone else is coming on the 24th. Two of our daughters will also be bringing their dogs, so that should be interesting. The one big one has spent many nights here and he is really quiet, but the one from Eastern Washington, this will be his first time here. This morning at while I was at Costco, I saw one of our neighbors, so I talked to her a little bit. Then I went to Walmart and when I was in line to check out, I saw my sister in law. She was Christmas chopping for her 2 1/2 year old grandson. I told her I had a present for Anders, so she is going to stop over at our house early Wednesday morning to pick up the present. When I got home, I finished writing on my Christmas cards and my husband took them to the post office to mail them. This evening our daughter from Eastern Washington and our grandson called. Our grandson put the phone on Face Time, so we got to see him while we were talking to him. It will be fun to see him next week for a few days. I am going to let him decorate my windows with Christmas window clings. Tonight I need to find an ornament for one of the women's groups at church. We are having a white elephant ornament exchange at our luncheon tomorrow.

It was our youngest daughter's 31st birthday today. I texted her early this morning. She was actually born at 11:18 pm.

It was cloudy and in the mid 40s here today. It is suppose to start raining tomorrow.

good afternoon

We went to a Christmas party this morning. Actually it lasted all day, but we had to leave at noon to go to my PT. It was one of those obligation type. My husband is on the board of directors to a local non-profit. So we were obligated to go. They planned the date at last minute so I didn't have a chance to change my PT day. Thats the way the cookie crumbles! At PT they keep stretching me as far as I can go. Ugh!

Good evening

This morning I had an appointment with my nutritionist. We talked about my eating and her only advice is to get more protein. That is a hard one for me because I have an intolerance to dairy. I get sharp pains if I eat dairy and I try hard to avoid soy. I had lost a little over 3 pounds since I saw her the beginning of November. After my appointment, I went to Fred Meyer. I think I have finished up my shopping now. I hust need to sew pairs of pajamas before Christmas Eve. After I got home, I spent the afternoon writing on Christmas cards. I will need to get a few more copies of our letter and then I will get them all done and sent tomorrow.

It was mostly cloudy and in the 40s today. This morning there was a little rain while I was att appointment and this afternoon the sun tried to peek through the clouds a couple of times. On Wednesday the rain and wind is supposed to come in and there are storms lined up out in the ocean that will come in each day until next Sunday. That is more like our normal weather.

I still get tired easily! My husband had an eye appointment this morning. He's high danger of developing glaucoma so his appointments are every 6 months, just to keep an eye on it. From there, we went to Kohls and Mary went to Petco. I was naughty and bought myself 2 sweaters. By then, it was time to eat. After lunch we went to Wal-Mart. After than, it was Staples and Best Buy. Then Costco. I think that's it. We got home at 5 ... Out to eat! Now I'm ready to put my knee up!

Good evening

This has been a busy weekend. Yesterday I spent the morning wrapping Christmas and birthday presents. Our daughter, from Seattle, her husband and son came down to our house for a while. I gave Finn his birthday presents to unwrap. He turned 5 last Wednesday. Our son, daughter in law and new grandson came over to visit. Finn wanted to hold Lars for a little bit. He did a good job holding him. I got to hold and rock Lars for a while too after our daughter and family went across the street to a birthday party for her friend. My husband stand came home after being with his friend for a couple of hours so he got to visit with our son and daughter in law. About 9:30 our son in law came back to our house for coffee and to watch golf with my husband for and hour.

This morning I went to church and then Sunday School. After, I went to the Dollar store and got some cards, then to Trader Joe's to get two gift cards for Christmas presents. Then I went over to Olympics West for the church service. I stayed there a little later so the residents at the service could sing a couple of extra songs that they wanted to. After that I stopped at Walmart and got a couple of ingredients for some bars I plan on trying for Christmas. I came home and ate dinner and got one of our Sunday papers read. Now I'm going to work on our Christmas cards so I can get them dropped off at the post office after my appointment tomorrow morning.

Good afternoon

We got just enough snow to turn the ground white. I helped to fill treat sacks at church this morning. They will be given out to everyone at the Christmas program tomorrow night. We're now watching "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" with Henry Winkler.

Good evening

This morning after I ate breakfast I got a couple of boxes ready to send to my great nieces and one to send to my sister. At 10:00 we had our book club at church. We discussed the book "The Eagle Tree" by Ned Hayes. It was an interesting book, as it takes place here in Olympia. About 11:00 the author came and talked to our group. We were able to ask him questions about the book and other books he has written. That was really interesting to hear from the author. After he left, we had a "white elephant" gift exchange of books that each member had read and had in her book collection.

After that I came home and finished wrapping a present to send to my great nephew in Minnesota. My husband took the boxes to the UPS store in Tumwater to send them. I went to Costco and gassed my car up. I went into the warehouse and got some snacks for when our kids and grandkids are here for Christmas Eve. Tomorrow one daughter and her family from Seattle will be here, and our son, daughter in law and new grandson will also be here. After Costco, I went to Fred Meyer and got a couple of birthday cards and then to Barnes and Nobles.

It was partly cloudy here today. It felt cooler today than it has. It sounds like the mountains have gotten a lot of snow the past couple of days.

PT went well. The therapist said that im about 98% of those at 6 weeks from surgery. He's also working me harder, especially the hamstrings. He told me to do one exercise and i told him you gotta be kidding! But i did it and it was very difficult. I would have been afraid to do them on my own.

This morning I had an appointment with my foot doctor. He said my foot has finally healed from my surgery last January. I don't need to see him again unless I have more problems. On the way home, we stopped at the print shop in downtown Olympia and I printed out our Christmas letters. After I got home, I called a friend of mine and wished him Happy Birthday". His wife called me back later and we had a good visit. I worked in my sewing room this afternoon finishing up the teddy bear I'm making for my four month old great nephew. I have a little more work on it to get done tonight before I go to bed.

I wen to our TOPS meeting this evening. I gained a quarter pound, but I know what I ate and drank this afternoon. Our program tonight was on how to stay healthy as we get older. We read some of the article and discussed some of the recommendations. We talked about safety in the home and exercises to help us with our balance. It was an interesting program.

It rained most of the day today with a few breaks. The temperature was close to 50 degrees again.

Early this morning my daughter in law and 8 week old grandson came over for a visit. Lars was awake, alert and so smiley this morning. We visited for a little bit and then Chloe went grocery shopping at Safeway. Lars stayed with us and I held and rocked him. We did do a walk around the house so he could see some of the Christmas ornaments and my TV/plant room. He has changed so much since I took care of him a week and a half ago. He is awake more now and is really smiling. He is wanting to see everything now. He reminds me more of our youngest daughter and one of our other grandsons. They wanted to see everything when they were tiny. I had to leave just after Chloe got back from Safeway because I had a Christmas Tea at church at 11:30. One of the ladies in the group that hosted the luncheon was a preschool for our three oldest daughters and our son. I visited with her a little bit. Our program was Christmas stories from three of our members. Then at our tables we talked about our Christmases when we were growing up. It was a fun luncheon.

After I went to Walmart to get a few things. After I got home, I wrote our Christmas letter and ordered pictures of all our grandchildren from Costco. My husband went over there tonight and got the pictures and I put them on our Christmas letter. We will take it to the printer downtown and make copies tomorrow morning after we come back from my foot doctor appointment in Yelm.

It rained all day today but it was warm again here. It sounds the like mountains in Washington are finally starting to get snow. I heard up to four feet on the weather tonight. Hopefully by Christmas the passes will be good to drive, as one of our daughters and her family need to cross the mountains to get here.
