We are enjoying beautiful weather this weekend after the remnants of Hurricane Cindy went through. We got a good deal of rain, but no damaging storms. I love the wind. I got my walking done with little difficulty despite the rain, but could not finish the mowing I had started. I mow the yard in sections...about an hour at a time...and got stopped where it was very visible to me...and of course, with heat and rain, the grass is leaping up. Yesterday I finished that unmowed section and now the rest is ready to start up again. Good exercise pushing a mower.

I have more than half my walking goal met for today...just past 7 am. I hope to mow later when the grass dries off. We have 5 pm mtg so I have lots of time.

Hope everyone is having good days and each one is working on meeting personal goals. emoticon

Pretty quiet around here. Everyone is busy out in the campaign work I'm sure and probably the at their convention. Ours starts Friday.

Went out in service today and the weather was just gorgeous, 68 degrees with a nice breeze. We actually got a lot of people home which is rare in our territory. It was a nice morning.

We went out for pizza with my daughter and SIL and I indulged in an ice cold coke and I am paying for that. The caffeine is keeping me awake. Up at 1 am on Sparkpeople...lol. Oh well I haven't had one in I can't remember when, probably about 10 years ago. Won't be doing it again any time soon.

Hope you are all doing well and enjoying your convention.

There is a rotate button to get the pictures right side up...lol! Great job on tossing out the leftover food. I have learned to do the same, but it took a while. We are told as children to finish everything on our plates. It's a hard habit to break. I used to find myself eating what my children didn't finish. We are empty nesters now so thankfully don't have to worry about that anymore.

I understand that thought about having paid for something therefore should finish it. We have chickens and I usually wrap up anything like sandwiches, fries, etc and bring it home for them. THEY love it. No waste.

Well done on not overeating, Carl.

Great job throwing out the last of the sandwich! I find myself getting full before my plate of food is finished and thinking "what the heck"? It's very cool.

I just love getting on the scale Monday mornings and seeing the lbs showing less than the previous Monday. :) Had a nice long service day Saturday. We started at 6:00AM and went until noon. We stopped at 8am for a breakfast sandwich and coffee. I wasn't to concerned about the calories as I knew I would be good all day. I was pretty full from the sandwich, plus it was egg and veggie. And I didn't finish all of it. I used will power and just threw the last couple of bits in the trash. What was funny is, even when I was full I wanted to finish it just because I bought it. But I talked myself out of it. After service I hit the gym so I felt good. :)

See sideways pics both here and on FB from time to time. I am not knowledgeable about any of that stuff.

Sounds like a good plan, Carl. Wish my husband would think like that. He used to lose weight easily but now that he is retired, that has stopped. He gained over three winters...first winter had shingles, second a bout with sciatica and this last winter it was a torn meniscus. Too much sitting and too much snacking out of boredom. Now his belly is blooming over his belt and it troubles me greatly. Wishing YOU great success in meeting your goals.

We have our convention in late July so I have to wait fr a while. The good news is I am hoping to lose about 5-10lbs by then so my suits are not so snug. I try to make each assembly or convention a new goal date. lol It's a game I play and gives me something to shoot for.

Hi all!

Every few months, I like to check in here and see how everyone is doing. Lots of new names and a few I recognize. Sorry to read about depression and loss this month and I really hope this summer's convention gives us all the boost we need. I don't know how they're going to top last year's but I know it will blow my mind.

Our life has been a whirlwind the last two years. We received some training in theocratic schools, got sent across the country and now have been in foreign service for the last year. Three years ago, I started Atkins and lost my weight, I've been able to keep it off (maintenance includes a ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting) but there is always a new challenge in this system. It's no wonder depression is so rampant when we consider how bad this world is. Seems there is nothing good left outside the brotherhood, our worship and service. Jehovah never meant for us to live this way and the fact that we can hope to endure to the end is a beautiful testimony to Jehovah's being the Grand Creator.

Nice to see everyone holding on! Let's not give up!

Leah

I can't wait for the convention either. They are always so encouraging. Jehovah sure does provide what we need in this time of the end. The conventions just keep getting better and better.

I also have been dealing with depression all my life. It wasn't until I was 38 years of age that someone discovered that was my problem. (who knew) Then I sought treatment and things slowly improved. There are still days of downs, but at least I know what the issue is and I can face it better. Keeping you in my prayers.

Kitty- I am so sorry to hear of your dad. I lost mine almost 5 years ago now, so I understand how you feel. Death is the enemy we were never meant to have. But, our loving Father will very soon correct everything and bring back our loved ones.

Andee- I have been dealing with depression most of my life and was diagnosed with PTSD , major depression and major anxiety disorder back 2007. It is a battle everyday and we never know from one day to the next what form that battle will take. Just remember that Jehovah sees our trials and he gives us each day what we need to get through it.

I just finished up my 3rd month of auxilary pioneering and am looking forward to taking a break this month. Between all of my spiritual responsibilities, my family and helping a friend out a few days a week, life is truly moving at what seems like the speed of light. We have our regional convention starting June 30th and I can't wait! I have a brother in my congregation who went this past weekend to a different convention and he said it was absolutely incredible and to hang on to my seat during some parts of it. Jehovah is about to pull the plug on this old wicked world so we can not give up!

I am happy to report that I reached and surpassed my high end goal weight on our anniversary and have maintained it this week!!

I am the healthiest I have ever been in my life! I have more energy than i know what to do with at times. I can't believe that I was on the brink of death, living in a wheelchair unable to do things for myself. Surgery saved my life!

So sorry about your loss Cindy (I think I saw that you signed off one time with Cindy). We have the beautiful hope of the resurrection and it is a great source of comfort knowing you will be see him again soon.

Andee, so sorry you are dealing with depression. Sounds like you are able to stay positive and that is so good when dealing with depression. It will be so nice when we no longer have to deal with the pressures and sickness of this system. Keep close to Jehovah! Also, way to go on the weight loss.

It is starting to heat up for us here in Michigan. Will be 77 tomorrow. I know I am in the minority, but that is too hot for me...I do not like the heat. Summer is my least favorite season. I do make the most of every season though, I stay outside almost all day in the summer, but try to stay out of the sun. Hopefully we will have another mild summer. I don't think we had many humid days last summer which is great for me.

We have a sister in our hall who is from Mississippi and she loves the hot hot weather. She loves the 90's when we get them...yikes!

Have a great weekend.

Ginna

Wow Andee! Sorry about the depression stuff...DH has dealt with it since 1979...not fun. Often it is triggered by stresses.

On the other hand, how exciting about the changes ahead AND CONGRATS on the weight loss! Well done..especially with all the stuff you are dealing with!

Oh Kitty. So sorry for your loss. . May Jehovah hold you close and bring you comfort and whatever you need to face the days ahead. I have lost both of my parents and neither knew the Truth (not for our lack of trying!) so the HOPE really has sustained me.

Asta,
I agree, this is a very exciting time of year! What will we learn at the assembly?
I love assemblies because I know I will leave greatly encouraged.

Andeewi,
I'm sorry to hear you've had some difficult times recently.
Good for you for being proactive about looking for the positives in each situation.
Just like the brother in the video this week with a rafter in his eye.

Me -
We lost our Dad this morning. I am glad to know he will be resurrected.
There's no better place to be than in Jehovah's memory!
I don't feel heartbroken, just somber.
And with a list of things to do for the funeral and after the length of my arm.

As I begin this month I'm wondering how fast this year is flying! It's not been a good one for me in many ways - so I'm battling depression and trying to dig out the positives. We're hitting that nice Springtime weather here - everything is so new and so beautiful!
Our plans for getting fully into the ASL group in Wausau are moving forward!
Move 1 will be happening the middle of this month!
Move 2 we hope will be by mid-July!
So many changes ahead for us!!! Getting excited - ASL RC early July; English RC late July!
And I'm down about 20 pounds so far this year! :)

Thanks for starting this Asta!

Can't believe it is already June!! Regional Conventions have already started...and the organization is on the move...so much going on!

Each of us start a new month, too. Have you got special plans or goals? Do you see each month as a new start to make progress?

Please do stop in to chat! We love having conversation here!
