Not sure what our group is doing yet. Last year I walked a 2 mile challenge.

We don't have one by me and I'm training for a half marathon in the fall so I run a 5K at least once a week. (Not bragging. I'm just living proof that ANYONE can do it). Instead, I am going to run my first 10K race the week before May 22 as my personal challenge. Our leader said that you can do any race between May and July for those of us who don't have an WW event nearby.

I've got this.

I do a 5k 5 days a week now. I will be doing it myself :) In refrence to adding something to your walking....What I do is try to beat my time every day. I also just started doing a few of the videos on SP, upper body and just different things. They have some 10 minute ones which are great. I just started ridding my bike again also, I"m hoping all these work. I have to move or I gain.

I am starting it this week. But I will be doing it on my own. There isn't anything close by. I am going to look for something local.

There isn't one anywhere near me. I was wondering for those of you who walk to get your exercise, do you also do other things? I'm asking because in the past when I used to walk over 3 miles 4 or 5 days a week and watch what I ate I would never lose any weight. And I was doing that for several months. So I'm kind of afraid to use walking as a way to get my exercise this time. Plus it's harder to do now, because when I'm not at work I ALWAYS have my baby girl and I have to pack her up and drive somewhere to walk. We live on a country road where everyone drives like it's the indy 500 down it and I wouldn't feel safe walking on it with her.

It's a dream until you write it down, and then its a goal. - Anonymous

I am doing it -- however rather than the WW walk I am walking in the Lupus Walk the same day. My 12 year old granddaughter has systemic Lupus. We also have a large group that will be walking together in the Komen walk for the Cure Mother's Day weekend.

I am completely op with food but fitness has somewhat eluded me. I get activity points and try to work out but not consistently enough. So I am using this to give me a goal and to make me accountable.

The WW ones are not close to me so I think I will search others to see what I can sign up for.

Last year, I trained for and did mine with a friend on North Mountain, GA. This year, I'll do one, but it depends on where I'm working. I go to WW Leader training this weekend and I'll have some weeks of mentoring. I'll have to find out my mentoring schedule before I can decide if I can participate in an organized walk or not, but I will be doing a 5K for the event one way or another! And this year, I will be running more of it than walking!!

Our area doesn't have an organized 5K on May 22 so I will just walk a 5K by myself. I walk between 4-5 miles 5 days a week, so it will just be a normal walk for me. I have tried running but I'm not quite to that fitness level yet. I will be there one day.

This challenge changed my life. I knew I could walk 3 miles, so my challenge was to run it. I did my 1st 5k(run) last year June 19th, I couldn't do the WW June date, so i did it a bit later. I used the c25k training program and ran it without stopping emoticon . The next 20lbs seem to melt off. To keep myself running, I signed up for 1 race a month for june july aug sept and oct. and turkey trotted on Thanksgiving in my neighborhood. I feel like running those 3.12 miles has been my greatest accomplishment (fitness wise) to date. This summer I WILL do a 10K (looking into training for a triathlon, but am a bit afraid of the swim).
