My husband scanned in a points tracker and created an excel file to keep track of his points, if anyone is interested or in need of a way to keep track of points. Send me an email: mrshofy@gmail.com

I went and bought the calculator today and it was on sale for 5.95!!!! I was so happy.

I think I might go back and get the complete food companion just to have that too just in case!

Thank you so much for all the info. I like the idea with the calculator that you can buy at the meetings locations. When I have seen these before I thought they just figured out what points were I didn't know that you could use them to track how many points that you personally ate yourself. I have also found some free apps on my Android phone that will track points for you as well! Plus I do have my Spark app as well! I will look into this 3 month journal too, I could also just "write" down what I eat thought the day on my "memo" pad on my cell phone

You will have to ask your insurance company. I just know we have WW as a benefit. To sign up, we call and ask for vouchers and they send them for 13 weeks. You simply tear off one voucher and turn it in at each weigh in. After about 11 or 12 weeks, we tell our leader we need new vouchers. They verify our attendance and then give us a card with a number to call and a code for the person who takes the calls. We have a short survey and they send the next 12 weeks of vouchers.
I have lost 60 lbs and have .4 to go! Some people have lost nearly 100! I know so many people who have been able to get off blood pressure and blood sugar meds in the last 10 months! I hope more companies will look at proactive approaches such as this.

You can still do the PP without being on line. I went to a WW meeting, and purchased the CALCULATOR!!! I really want another as well. Keep one in my purse. IF I get another, I would keep it at my desk. Really do NOT need to be on line for this tor work. You are a FREE member here and on the WW team. Anyway that is what I would do to save more money. Just be SURE WW online KNOWS you are dropping them!!! Or you will still be charged!

No judgements whatsoever!!! I understand completely. It does get expensive!!

My suggestion: there are several websites that list points such as www.exercise4weightloss.com/weight-watcher
s-points.html#il (has a points calculator on this site)
www.dwlz.com/restaurants.html

And if you do have the points calculator there are even more options online that have the nutrition info to calculate the points.

Good luck! emoticon

If you have medical insurance, you need to call them. My insurance pays in FULL for my meetings. I had to buy the calculator or other items I want but it pays for meetings (as long as I attend 10 out of 13) and is currently sending vouchers for the e-tools as well. You never know what benefits you may have and be aware of!

Amazon, ebay, and even your local goodwill are good places to find the books that lists the points values for foods. I purchased a points calculator from Ebay and track in a pocket notebook I found at Target (3 pack for $1.99). I don't go to meetings because there's so many encouraging people here on sparkpeople. You can do it with very little cost if you know where to look for things. Good luck!!

Thanks for Listenin'

I would go online and find your local meeting place. Here in my town, they has an office that is open even when they are not having meetings. You can go in and buy what you need and they do not ask for your member shop card. You are a member though if you are using it online. You can purchase the calculator and just track that way.

I'd' find a local meeting and go pick up the tools you need (3 month tracker journal, pedometer, calculator, etc) and only go to that meeting spot when you need something specifically to help you track. They will accept your money for the tools you need without having to attend meetings! (or at least ours are good about it!) I used to recommend ebay, but the cost of the Deluxe Member Kit on ebay is TWICE what it costs by going to a meeting location! Just my two cents!

If you purchase a points calculator (I think they are $12.95), then you can do the WW program without using etools. You can track on Spark or in a notebook. If you have a meeting place near you, you should be able to get the calculator there.

I hope no one judges me, I'm not trying to sound cheap. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do WW without having to pay. I do the WW Online which is $17 something a month, which is better for me than the 11 bucks a week. But at times it can still be something that is removable in my budget. I like having the ability to enter my points online and stuff, but I'm wondering if there is a better way. Should I give up on points and just track my calories here on Spark? Is there another way to look up and track my personal points that doesn't cost 17 a month? Just curious.....
