You cannot return the active link or transfer it to anyone. Once it is activated, it is forever linked to your weight watchers account.

I got a bodymedia armband for free from my insurance. It also comes with a free year membership to the website where the data is downloaded. I really like it even though it can often be seen underneath my clothes. It gives me more information than the active link, and more accurate information I think. There is no week waiting period. Of course, it doesn't give me the points value but I'm okay with that. I really use it more than I use weight watchers in terms of gauging how I am doing with calories in and calories out.

OK - so if you can clip your fitbit to your bra, I should be able to wear on chain tucked into bra, like I do my ActiveLink, right?

And that is a great question - can the ActiveLink be transferred to a friend?

I clip my fitbit to my bra and don't even know that it is there.

I bought the fitbit mainly because I didn't like the monthly fee with activelink. Also it does so much more than activelink. I usually clip it to my bra.

I am curious about where folks wear their FitBits - I am waiting for the wristband one to come out cuz I jsut can't deal with clipping things on - right now, I wear my ActiveLink on a chain around my neck, with my pedometer, all tucked into my bra. How do people with FitBits wear them?

I just got my fitbit and I love it. I de-activated my active link because it just didn't seem to work right and I got no support from weight watchers. My fitbit doesn't calculate activity points but since I don't use my activity points I don't care. The fitbit at least motivates me to move more.

I was OK with my ActiveLink until I had a problem with it not granting me my points on random days when I knew I had earned them - walk 3 miles and get zero points, really? After a couple of weeks of this, and very poor customer support from WW, it seems to be working OK again. But now I have lost confidence in both the device and in WW, to some extent. I am going to keep the ActiveLink (assuming it keeps awarding me my points) but only until the wristband-style FitBit becomes available - then I am switching to FitBit!

The problem I've had with my active link is the points total it gives me. I still wear my pedometer and by the end of the day, my pedometer has recorded 8 - 10 points. At the same time, my active link will have recorded 4 - 6 points. My leader says that it's because I have to reach my base line before I earn points. The active link is supposed to motivate me but it has only discouraged me.

I have had all 3, just got my activelink, in the 7 day assesment period. I think the Fitbit is the most" bang for you buck". The active link does not tell step count, it only tells you the percentage of activty goal you have completed. I don't count cals just points, so I felt like I paid for an expensive pedometer with the Fitbit One. I like it though b/c it;s free & the size.

A plus of the active link is that it is waterproof, it states "shower, ocean and swimming pools".

Good luck!

It looks like the "One" has replaced the Ultra and it looks nice and small. I like the sleep monitor option since I do have trouble sleeping and am trying to work on that too. My BodyMedia did that too but with a monthly fee it wasn't worth it.
Thanks for all the help Cindy!

I have the "ultra". When I purchased it off of the ebay site "zip" was not out yet. Zip does not do sleep and ultra does.

Thanks for all the info. When Active Link first came to my WW location they were really pushing it but when I talked to one of the employees she told me to think hard about it because you could not return it. That did worry me a bit. With the BodyFit I paid $6.95 a month for the online/sync subscription. I was surprised and happy to hear that FitBit doesn't charge a monthly fee. It's a little bit more expensive than Active Link but with the $5.00 monthly fee with Active Link the Fit Bit would pay for itself in no time. I see two monitors on the Fitbit site. Which one do you use?

I have a fit bit and LOVE IT! I don't pay a monthly fee and it too can be hidden. A little smaller than the active link. I don't and won't get an active link due to the extra cost of $5.00 a month. If you are NOT happy with it guess what you are stuck with it. Active link is the ONLY item that can not be returned. I have also heard that it can not be resold. I don't know if that is true or not. Good luck on your decision.

I have the acitve link and love it. You do not have to wear to bed. It tells me when I am not active enough. It is helping me become more motivated.

I would be intrested in the Active Link if it had come out first.

Is anyone using the Active Link through WW? I was using a Bodyfit monitor but haven't had it on in months. Active Link is smaller and can be hidden. You wear the Bodyfit monitor on your upper arm but when I would wear longer sleeves it made my tops look funny and wasn't as comfortable. I was wondering about opinions of Active Link.
Thanks!
