I had an active link and the only advantage is that it tells you how many activity points you have earned. That being said, I never felt that the activity points the active link gave me were very accurate. I understand that you have to reach a baseline before you start actually earning points, but I never earned more than 2 points per day with the active link. I weigh well over 200 pounds and walk 4+ miles per day which should be more than 2 points. I called Active Link and was told to redo my assessment which I did 4 times. Nothing worked. Active Link and Weight Watchers were no help. They just kept telling me the device was working properly. I finally got disgusted and switched to Fitbit. It cost about twice as much as the Active Link but there is no monthly fee. It measures steps, miles, floors climbed, calories burned, and monitors your sleep. Now I take the steps from my fitbit, plug it into the activity calculator and I earn about 6-7 points per day. The Active Link flashes when you've reached your 100% goal for the day. My fitbit does not do that but I understand the new wristband one does. I will never go back to Active Link.

I am really interested in hearing from folks who have had ActiveLink and then switched to FitBit - I am so thinking about doing it and would really appreciate any comments on the pro's and cons of each device.

I have a Fitbit One because the wristband ones were not available at the time. I love it because it measures everything including my sleep. The wristband one looks really nice and when I have to replace my current Fitbit, I will probably get the wristband.

I wasn't happy with my Active Link. It just didn't seem to work properly. So I deactivated the account and bought a Fitbit. I wasn't happy that I was stuck with the Active Link, but I LOVE my Fitbit. It was definitely worth the cost and will be cheaper than the Active Link in the long run.

WOW that's some scam they got there then, you can only use it if you have an ACTIVE WW account, AND you still have to pay $5 per month along with your WW account. and if you don't use it anymore you just LOSE the function of it?? I should have bought a Fit BIT!!!

Unfortunately, once you activate an ActiveLink, it will always be linked to your account. I wanted to sell mine and when I contacted ActiveLink, they told me there wasn't any way to transfer it to a different account, even if the Weight Watcher account is deactivated.

I think you can RESET them. If you can't then they have quite a scam going on there.

anyone want to buy an Active Link, I quit W8Watchers and you can't use it without a WW account. Message me or e-mail kabooper@gmail.com
