It’s a Cyber Party for @KENTUCKYWOMAN YAY Joan and congrats on your 50 pound loss at TOPS!

When I want a crunchy snack that has volume and Big Crunch and flavor, I like dry cereal. Honestly I haven’t eaten cereal with milk in a bowl for years, but I love a serving dry to munch with my tea or skinny hot chocolate. You are getting fiber and protein and low sugar. The key is measuring it emoticon . Here are two good ones to try. KIX is 1 1/4 cup for 3 points. Quaker corn crunch is 3 points for 3/4 cup. Sometimes you don’t need a full serving. Maybe just a half will do....

It's not about what you can't do. It's all about what you can do. Never ever give up!

Congratulations Joan on the weight loss. Good luck on finding a new scale. It's another nice day here. I think spring is finally here to stay. We are supposed to get rain next week but nothing serious.

Good morning all. Wow work has been a bear this week. I didn't come home and eat, I was too tired. I picked up milk and coffee after work, got in the car and remembered I was going to get lettuce, and salad fixings. I was just so tired. So I came home ate some leftovers and went to bed early. I thought I would sleep as I was beat. But nope, 10:30 comes and i'm still wide awake. Overtired I think.

I'm going in today for a bit and hoping I can get a few things caught up from this past week. But off tomorrow and a day of rest I hope.

Congrats, Joan!! Those old sliding weight scales are accurate, but they are heavy to move around, and fussy as you set the balance to level, then tap the weight back and forth until you find equilibrium. Even doctor's offices don't use them anymore. I'd hate to think of the shipping fees for one of those things.

I got Mom's support pole installed yesterday, I wrote a blog with a photo. I'd never heard of those poles, but it looks like a great (if expensive) solution for someone with serious balance problems. Its' done! Of course, Mom hasn't noticed it even though she sees it every time she uses the bathroom. She'll only notice it when she takes her shower later. I hope it was worthwhile.

And the dryer repair guy who was supposed to be here between 1 and 4 got here at 5:15. That blew up my dinner plans, so I made sandwiches. Still within the parameters of my Plan, but not what I had wanted. I'll live. And my dryer doesn't sound like a plane taking off anymore.

Have a great day all!

Good morning everyone.

Honeysuckle, I love that smell and I remember one of my Grandma's using the Avon body powder that was Honeysuckle and to this day every time I hear of honeysuckle or smell it I think of Grandma.

Okay, get ready to cheer and shout....I lost 3/4 of a pound and now I have lost at TOPS 50 1/4 pounds total. The scale was being a bear yesterday as well because on my scale I was down over a pound, and I had not eaten or drank anything but when I went to weigh in 3/4th was all that it would show. Our treasurer was back and he actually looked like he had lost weight and he said his scale and the doctor's scale yesterday showed he was down 2 pounds, but when he weighted it showed a gain. These are old scale, the old stand up kind that you have to get to even out with the slide thing, so instead of a topic I had prepared the discussion was about getting new scales. I told everyone we couldn't do anything until all the member's or at least until Pat gets back so two people are going to do some research and get some prices. BUT....I'm down 50 1/4 pounds....color me happy. emoticon

It's the weekend, today is the Run for the Roses in Louisville, Derby time, but I don't have any real plans of any kind for the weekend and I'm good with that. It will be a great time to get my food plan ready for the upcoming week. emoticon

I have been doing a lot better with not eating at night. I agree that I do sleep better when I don't eat. Sometimes I will have a cup of tea. Afternoons are still my worst time to control my eating but I'm working on it. I did have a loss at my WW meeting last night. It was .2 which I was happy with since I had eaten out 3 times over the past week so was actually expecting a gain. So far today is going well.

Can't believe it's Friday already.

So yesterday at work, I discovered about 4 hours into a messy project that they had given me the wrong information and all the work I had done was useless. I am proud to say that I didn't blow up (at least not to bad) I did not eat. Instead I decided to take the dogs for a short walk and let my assistant deal with telling the client.

Michelle, I am so allergic to honeysuckle! As I walk toward the wall of blooms, my face swells and I start choking, then it fades as I back away. It's so dramatic my kids laugh at me.

I'm with you on the evening eating. Right after dinner I brush and floss, before I clean up the kitchen. I sleep better with a good 4 hours of not eating before lying down to go to sleep.

I have to be at Mom's at 10 for the guy to remove her shower doors and install a shower curtain bar and curtain, and a vertical support pole for her to hand on to getting in and out of the shower. She will be very unhappy, she hates change, and doesn't believe she could ever fall. I'll take a drill and screwdrivers to try to install the towel hooks myself, the ones the community handyman refused to install. Let's see if I can put them on straight.

Have a great TOPS meeting Joan!

The blossoms are opening on my magnolia tree. I am so excited! The little girls are excited, too, but probably because I am excited! This is the 2nd time in over 10 years that the blossoms have escaped being frozen off.
Maci's 2nd grade musical concert was last night. That was fun! Such enthusiasm!
I don't have much trouble with late night eating. On the rare occasions that I do, though, I don't sleep well, so that is incentive to not eat after 6.

Good morning all.

Have no clue where the week has gone, but here it is Friday already. Here is Kentucky it's Derby weekend, so Louisville is hustle and bustling with out of town people and that gave Benny something to complain about yesterday when I spoke with him over the phone. emoticon

I used to eat from after dinner right into bedtime...notice I said used to....not anymore. I eat dinner, clean up the kitchen and that it until the next morning. I find I sleep so much better since I have made a conscious decision to do this. On Tuesday & Friday my breakfast and lunch run together because no way I'm going to eat anything before weigh in time. So I pack me something and after the meeting I have my food and do not have to be going through the drive thru.

Have a great day everyone. Stay Strong. emoticon

@KNUCKLES145 Beth I know that empty belly feeling in the AM and I love it too! I have to say I have not felt it in a couple days. I usually close the kitchen down at 7PM or after dinner whichever comes first. The last few days I have been TV snacking emoticon Gotta keep on pushing...

We had some rain the other night which really made the grass greener. My daffodils are blooming and we uncovered the hydrangeas today. The tulips are up but not blooming yet. I hope the warm weather stays but I know it's not unusual for us to get a late frost.

Warmth, finally! We had a hard frost night before last, and I thought my magnolia blossoms were done for, but maybe not. There was one almost open yesterday. I do so hope it blossoms this year. It has only blossomed once in the 10+ years since the kids planted it for me.
MRSA is a difficult problem to treat. My daughter the nurse says we all have it. Some of us just have developed an immunity to it. I think that's why they send you home so soon after an operation any more. Get you out of the hospital before you catch anything! I hear they send you home a day after a knee operation now. I don't know how I would have coped with that so soon after I had my knees done.
In any case, hope Pat is doing better.

Good morning. I've worn those yellow paper gowns when visiting someone in a hospital. I don't think you can treat MRSA anymore, just keep it from spreading.

I'm having lunch with some old friends who used to live at the condo. I rarely eat out, this will be twice in one week.

It was 90 degrees yesterday, records broken at both airports, and it will be hotter today. I can't turn on the air conditioning, it will cool down to normal again this weekend. And with heat comes water retention. My hands squish with retained water, which, of course, shows up on the scale.

Good Thursday morning all.

Thank you Gail. So good to see you posting again. I've missed you. emoticon

I went to see Pat at the hospital yesterday, she does not look well at all and get this the doctor told her when she was in the hospital earlier this year for what she thought was the same thing she found out yesterday that he was treating her for MRSA. So I had to put on the lovely paper gown and mask to visit.

Very warm this morning already its already 68 degrees at 4 a..m., yesterday we hit 85 finally warmer weather. We are suppose to have rain coming in today. That is about it from my place, keep planning, keep tracking, and keep loving yourself. emoticon

@KNUCKLES145 BETH...step AWAY from the Fridge!

@MALEXANDER4 thanks for the reminder....I am going to call for a haircut as soon as I am done Sparking!

So I hear chatter about HAPPY weight. We can now set our own goal, but it was not so long ago that you could not. I had my Dr. set my goal for 10 pounds higher.....why? Because through years and I mean years of dieting and being frustrated, I couldn’t maintain that magic number on the charts. My body was happy at maintaining 10 pounds higher. And I am so FINE with that! I would rather be there than 50+ pounds higher. I am so glad that WW now recognizes each individuals Happy Weight! emoticon

emoticon Joan. Glad the woman was able to come back. I've seen a few people that have been at goal, stop coming, gain the weight back and then are ashamed to return. Even though I have ups and downs I don't want to quit. I know that I will eventually get to goal if I keep going to meetings and if I quit I would probably gain all the weight back and then some.

COngrats Joan. You got this. Goal weight is one thing, but happy weight is what i'm after. I want to be happy with myself and at a weight I can control. too low means hard times keeping it off in my real life. So Happy weight is ok with me.

Haircut today, my day of beauty as I like to call it. I think shorter this time.

So happy about your weigh in, Joan! Makes you extra glad you pre-planned meals when taking Ruthann to her appointment, doesn't it!
The beauty of going to meetings is just what you told us about welcoming the woman back to WW. Being in a community of people who have weight issues, like me, is important for me. I think my daughter and my friend, who go with me , stick it out partly because they don't want me driving by myself at night...especially in the winter when it is dark.
My daughter just learned the difference between goal weight and happy weight this week at the meeting. Maybe she will set a more realistic goal weight now.

Joan, I'm glad that woman is back. That "if I'd stuck with it I'd be feeling much better about myself" is exactly what I tell myself when faced with temptation. I stick with it BECAUSE I know what I'll think about myself if I don't. Time does pass, your 50 pounds that looked so far away is now within your grasp, and one day it will be behind you as you get day by day closer to goal.

It's going up into the 80s today, time to pull out the shorts?

Beth, do we need to make a recording with all our voice's...."STEP AWAY FROM THE FRIDGE!!" Here's a thought, maybe this week make a promise to yourself that the kitchen is off limits say after 6 p.m. I don't know what time you eat dinner, but something like that. Stay Strong. emoticon

Okay I lose 2.8 pounds this week and now I am only 1.2 pounds from my 50 pound mark. It's funny because as I stand in line with everyone else, and then it was my turn to get on the scale a silence feel over the room, everyone was waiting for Janice to tell me how I did, I think everyone is almost as excited about my being so close as I am. So close.
Another thing that happened at WW's yesterday, this gal that had joined just a week after I did last year, but she only lasted until after the Christmas holidays, and through Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas she never had a gain, but the day after Christmas was our weigh in day and the night before weigh in she told me she broke and ate a lot of sweets, but she still showed a loss on our weigh in day, but I knew this was going to be a real problem for her because she never came back. Yesterday she was back I was so thrilled to see her, but really didn't recognize her because she looks as if she's put on 30 extra pounds. After the meeting I went to her and gave her a big hug and told her how happy I was to see her back, she looked at me and said, ''if I had just stuck with it like you did, I'd be feeling so much better about myself." I told her, ''your here now, that is what's important."

My friend Pat from TOPS is in the hospital with pneumonia and I'm worried about here. So Pat won't be at our meeting on Friday, and that means I will not only be the leader Friday, but the treasurer because our treasurer person is out sick, and now with Pat in the hospital it falls to me to do everyone's weigh in. I just hope Pat gets well soon.

Have a GREAT day everyone. emoticon

Glad Ruthann had a good report.

I ate out yesterday but made a fairly good choice when I ordered and when everyone else was ordering the free pie I got a piece to go and gave it to one of the other women. I felt really good about my choice and not at all deprived.

Drive by gang! Joan so glad you prepared with a plan in place! Also good news at that Dr. appointment too!

It topped out at 81 yesterday! Holy cow a little more than a week ago we were digging out from a blizzard lol. I had the AM off and did a weights and spin class. It felt so good especially the hot shower afterwards. Enjoying my protein filled oatmeal now. Have a fabulous day everyone!

Congrats on knowing in advance that Ruthann would want to eat breakfast at McDonald's and being prepared! I'm glad she got a clean bill of health.

The cleaners come this morning, then I have a ton of errands to run. It's going to be sunny and 70s, a perfect day to be out and about, and walking lots of parking lots!

Wow May 1st already. Time just seems to be moving along. Joan so glad you had a good trip yesterday. Mickey D's for me would mean a sausage biscuit. So proud of you for taking your breakfast. I bring my lunch to work daily for the same reason. I don't have to say no and I won't be tempted. Do I still eat out on occasion? Of course but it is a treat not a way of life as it had become.

Wishing you all a wonderful day. It has been in the 80"s here and just beautiful. Great weather to get out and move.

Good morning all and happy first day of May.

Our trip to Louisville early yesterday morning went find, as soon as we got into Louisville of course the traffic was backed up, but we had plenty of time. Sister got a good report, but still has to go back in another year, which in my opinion is not bad at all as long as they keep not finding anything wrong. In the beginning of the exam the nurse thought she had found more cancer cells, but after applying acid to them and letting the Oncologist to look at them it was just scar tissue. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers, they are always so appreciated.

I knew Ruthann would want to stop and get breakfast after her doctor's visit, I also know today is my weigh watchers weigh in, so I made sure I had planned for this by taking my own points friendly food with me. I had no problem stopping at Mickey D's for her, but I felt so proud of myself for eating my boiled eggs that I packed instead of doing what I would have done in the past and had at least two things from the menu. Color me happy. emoticon Its all in how we make a plan and how badly we want to stick to that plan.

LYNXMYNX Kim, emoticon to our group. So happy you've rejoined WW's and if you work the program it will work for you. Please share your journey with us, there is a lot of help here on this thread.

Enjoy today, we are suppose to make it into the 80's today. emoticon

We are finally getting warm weather and it is drying up nicely. Should be able to get the yard cleaned up this week. I have lab work for my yearly physical tomorrow and see the doctor on Thursday. I have a feeling my weight is going to be up. I know I didn't do as well this winter as I should have. Trying to get back on track but it is a daily battle.

Good morning ladies! I just rejoined WW and am hoping to work harder this time. I’m cleaning this morning then going for a bike ride. Sounds like many of you are getting residual winter weather! That stinks—especially snow if you can’t get out to walk through it! emoticon

Living in Florida, where here in the capital it was 90 degrees yesterday emoticon , we’ll be wishing for snow probably by the end of June. emoticon

I wish all of you a beautiful week with lots of healthy and healthier (not always the same but at least better than an alternative emoticon !) week emoticon

Safe travels emoticon emoticon

Prayers for a safe journey, Joan. And planning ahead for the eating is such an important thing! I'm hoping the sitting , and consequent fluid buildup doesn't derail your WW plans. At least, if it does, you will know what happened, and it will not be discouraged by it . Sorry you have to do this, but it looks as if there is no other option, and you are so good to do it so gracefully.
The ground is covered with snow this morning. There go my magnolia blossoms. Bleeehhh!

Good morning.

was not sure if I could get here before leaving this morning. To answer your questions Nell, this time its been a whole year since her last visit with the Louisville Oncologist. Yes, she could driver herself, but compared to Beaver Dam and Owensboro she can't handle the traffic. On a good day not during rush hour traffic I can make the trip in about an hour and forty five minutes, but its Monday, its going to be during rush, and the cherry on top is its Derby week in Louisville.

Prayers that we have a safe journey, thanks everyone. I have packed me some boiled eggs and made me a peanut butter roll up so to make sure I don't get sucked into fast food. Remember, tomorrow I have to weigh in and with all this sitting I'm sure I'll have plenty of fluid to weigh with.

I was up before 4, no idea why.

Today I have to bite the bullet and make some medical appointments for myself. My own health gets shoved to the back burner while I deal with Mom.

I hope all goes well with Ruthann's appointment, Joan. How often does she have followup visits now? Is she not able to drive? How far is Louisville?

It is chilly this morning, I am so ready for warmer weather. It's almost May after all.

Joan I know you could never not help out someone in need. Your a good lady.

Yesterday hubby had me outside early on and we got some trees pruned and the mess cleaned up. Yup activity minutes a heap. Raking, clipping, and dumping. I feel it today in my arms. Today weather is suppose to be great also, car wash in the plans.

everyone have a wonderful Sunday.

I used to heat one side of my house with a wood fire. Every morning, the wood stove would look dead, so I'd stir the ash to find the still hot sparks and add a little kindling, then another log. The fire would smolder, then blaze up. It took tending, every morning\, every day. The fire is a good analogy.

That is so nice of you to take Ruthann to her doc appointment, 4:30 is really early, though. I'm glad there was no foul play. I'm surprised they could do the autopsy so quickly, but I can see that results will take longer to write up.

Off to church in half an hour.

So true, at least for me. Some days you just feel stronger than others about staying on track. And when WW throws us a curve with a new program, it throws our routine off. However, each new program is worth trying, even if you revert to an old way of doing things after giving it a try.

This is a tough time for Leigh Ann. Glad you were willing to fill in for her.

"Sometimes the strength within you is not a big fiery flame for all to see it is just a tiny spark that whispers ever so softly, "YOU GOT THIS. KEEP GOING."

Good morning team.
Here we are only two days left in the month of April. I so remember around this time in December thinking, ''I'll never make it until Spring." I had just begun that October on WW's, then the first of December Freestyle was introduced, and all the times I have failed at trying to change my eating lifestyle, all those things I had learned finally kicked in, and each day I would become a little more confident, and those sweet cravings became less strong. I knew I was not going to lose the weight in a few months, but as each day passes, I get a little closer to my goal. There are some days my goal is ''just to get through the day." There are days I DON'T feel like I have this, but the thought of just giving up has not reached me as of yet. If its something worth having then its worth the work it will take, and for each of us, we are worth the hard work its going to take to get us to our goal, and then the real work begins because we want to stay at our goal.

The best advice I can give for today and for the week is this....
NEVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF or YOUR DREAMS!!!!!! emoticon

The autopsy has been done on Leigh Ann's friend, and Leigh Ann called me yesterday afternoon asking if I could do her a favor. The favor....Monday Ruthann has to be in Louisville for her Oncologist appointment, this is year 7 now, and Leigh Ann was going to take her Mom for the first time. So Tina's funeral is Monday and Leigh Ann wanted to know if I could take her Mom. Of course I wouldn't turn her down on something like this. So I'll be leaving at 4:30 tomorrow morning heading to Louisville.
They ME (Medical Examiner) did do the autopsy but there are no results, according to Leigh Ann they do not suspect foul play so this is why the body is being released.

"Just don't give up trying to do what you really want to do!"
