I just saw Water for Elephants and thought it was fantastic! I read the book, and it stayed quite true to it. I would recommend both:)

This could be a really GREAT team with less sporadic participation. I've seen the following recently. The Fighter - really terrific, with well deserved Oscars for acting. Inception - nice special effects but confusing story, and I like Leonardo. HE'S really packed on the lbs. in the last few years! Rango - again, cool special effects but boring plot, and to me Johnny Depps voice is almost unrecognizable. RED - Bruce Willis being Bruce Willis - which is great! Great ensemble cast, interesting plot line, mildly amusing. Definetly NOT a waste of time. 6 1/2 out of 10.

Anyone else excited to see "Red Riding Hood"? it looks like it could be really good. The trailers remind me of "Sleepy Hollow" with Chistina Ricci and Johnny Depp.

Went and saw The Rite this weekend. It was creepy but interesting. I wish it had shown more of how they learned to be exorcists but it was Anthony Hopkins playing creepy so it was all good emoticon

I just saw "the Town" yesterday. I liked it better than Social Network, which I rented at the same time. I thought "the Town" had a few spots of implausability, but I agree, the acting was surperb. Overall, just a notch below "the Departed", which is one of my favorite films. emoticon

The new Harry Potter movie is good. It moves slowly in places, but so does the book. The action parts are very exciting! The ending will make you want to see the last movie.

Saw a special screening of "Unstoppable" the new movie with Denzel Washington, Chris pine and Rosario Dawson.
It was UnBelievable! A really good action flick. A few car cashes, but plot necessary and a few small explsions. Nothing over the top and actual some character development.
Really don't think anyone would be disappointed in seeing this film, unless you're a corporate type and might be offended by how the corporation handled thse crisis.

I loved How to Train your Dragon!! I saw it three times in theaters, and am just depressed that I won't be able to see it in 3D again.

I saw Easy A this past week and was very impressed. I found it to be a very intelligent script with excellent acting all around, except for maybe Amanda Bynes' character, but I feel that was intentional to match the character's personality

Inception This is a great movie that makes you think. There is a lot of debate of exactly how the movie ended.

Shutter island This is another Leonardo Decaprio physcological thriller. There was no doubt on what was going on at the end of the movie, but in the book, there were two possible scenerioes. I enjoy both the book and the movie.

Book of Eli After a war and the sun almost destroy the earth, Eli (Denzel Washington) is on a mission from god to deliver a book to the west coast. I really loved this movie.

This week we saw two movies. The first was "Dinner for Schumucks." Not as haha funny as I expected, but still good. The second was "The Kids are All Right." This film I was really eager to see having see the trailers for it and hearing such good reviews. It was good, but not great.

The latest movie we saw was a small Indy film titled "Winter's Bone." It was one of the BEST films we've seen all year. It simple terms the plot is about a 17-year woman in the Ozark Mountains searching for her father so he can keep their home. But it's so much more than that. If you're interested, look for it on Imdb.com. It's an excellent film and I would highly recommend it to anyone who truly enjoy good film making.

Sorcerer's Apprentice

It was usual Disney and wasn't anything wonderful, but Cage was good.

A-Team We really enjoyed the movie. It was fun and full of energy and excitement. Murdock was a hoot.

2012
The special effects were great, but it was a little long. It is a little different from the usual disaster movie.

We saw Despicable Me also and really loved it. The minions were very funny. There were a lot of children in the audience, but none of them clapped. At the end of "Dream Girls" the movie a few years ago when Jennifer Hudson appeared on the screen in the credits, adults stood up and gave her a standing ovation.

I was Babies the documentary the other night and really liked it. It was very interesting seeing how other cultures raise and react to babies.

We saw "Despicable Me" and "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" today. Really liked both of them. At the end of "DM" the kids in the audience clapped. How many of us are old enough to remember when we'd do that? I am! :-)

My daughter and I saw Sex in the city. We were not impressed at all. WE have been fans of the TV show and the first movie for years. Carrie was just not nice and it is all about her. I loved Miranda's clothes and some of Charlotte's. Samantha was better in this movie, but most of her lines were not cutting edge. I would not recommend this movie.

Babies was so good! It's a documentary following 4 babies in the first year of their lives. One in rural China, one in urban Japan, one in Africa and one in San Fran. Pretty much no dialogue, and only a bit of the parents. It's mostly just shots of babies being silly. Recommended!

Saw "Sex and the City 2" this past week. On a scale of one to five, I'd give it a 2 1/2. Looking forward to seeing "Get Him to the Greek" and "Killers". Another movie we're looking forward to is "Cyrus" with John C. Riley and Marisa Tomei. The release day is June 18.
