Hurricane season here in Florida, too. Luckily we live in the NE corner of the state and don't usually get the big storms coming through-something about the curve of the state with the St. Johns River but it gets bad enough if one's near. We also keep getting warnings that just because one hasn't hit us directly they could at any time.

I got 70 minutes in the pool today. The yard needs mowing but I really don't feel like it right now. I do need to get some walking in-my grandson wants to do a 5 k and I haven't done that for years with all the artificial joints.

It's hurricane season here but it's a way of life for us locals. Hopefully we're all prepared for emergencies of this sort. Stay safe and dry.

We are getting storms passing through most every day. It's that time of year we have to keep alert for hurricanes. The temperatures haven't been too bad

Sorry to hear that but at least you have the dvd player to use. I'm going shopping with my friend and I'll be doing a lot of walking and when I get home and after dinner I'll be doing the dvd with Leslie I hope and not to tired. Walked to the store and back it was a 20 minute walk.

Unplanned rest day yesterday...so starting my Walking streak over...huge storm knocked out my directv box and it will be three days before we can get a new one. Good thing I have Netflix, youtube AND my Leslie DVD's!!!

There is one thing I hate is walking but who will do it since I don't have a car and I don't drive so walking is the only thing I have to do.

Just saw this and I had to share.
Do you see exercise as something you have to do to burn off calories? Change your mindset to view exercise as a fun hobby. Plus, it's a gift: There are so many disabled or injured people in the world who cannot move as freely as they might like to. Be grateful for your abilities and treat your body right by keeping it healthy and active.

Good for you! That's a healthy strategy.

I'm thinking if one were to go outside for a walk where I live they'd burn extra calories resisting the wind.

I've gained 89 pounds and hate it. Now I have to rethink what I did to loose it and forget what I did to gain the weight. I don't want the doctor to see me like this so that is why I have to rethink what I did to get this way.

My Dr sent me to see the Cardio Dr. as she was not sure what she saw in the echo gram. He said everything looked great!! I do not need to go back for 2 years so that is a BIG plus. He said the value they replaced 11 years ago is doing great and no change, He said for me to keep doing what I have been doing ( losing weight and walking) and to keep having them do B/P and other blood test and that before long I might be able to cut down or stop some of my meds!!! Praise God for answered prayers!
I went for a walk this morning to enjoy the sunshine and may do it again this evening as it cools off.

I went grocery shopping yesterday and came home and made a veggie soup. There is enough for lunch and dinner for a whole week maybe more. lol I can't seem to make a small batch of soup. I am not sure how to track it on here.I added one container of no salt added broth but there is about 3 time more water. I just wanted the taste. Navy beans,cabbage,2 rutabaga's baby carrots, cauliflower onion,just a little broc. peas, green beans,1 sweet potato and one can of no salt tomatoes corn. The veggies were all fresh except for the corn and it was frozen. Any idea what I would post for 1 1/2 c.? I am trying this as I will have my rainbow of veggies and it is low sodium as I used Mrs Dash for the seasoning. I thought this might help me break this rut I have been in. I get to eat it starting today as it was to late to eat it last night..Can't wait as it smells great!

went to the dr yesterday and got weighed I am back up to 222.4 lbs and hurting. The dr told me I would feel much better when I start moving and getting back into shape. I would also lose some weight.

How is everyone else doing?

International Women's Day, huh? I've never heard of it and it's actually older than my oldest brother! emoticon Okay, it's even older than my parents by 12 years. I'm not sure we can ever get total equality but close would be good.

I did water aerobics this evening while DH babysat our 3 1/2 month granddaughter.

Hoping that everyone is having a good day so far. Loving the Spring like weather here. Hope that it lasts. Supposed to be pretty tomorrow as well. Hoping that I have some energy left over after my shift tonight. I would like to take my dog on another outside. I would rather do it and get it over with before it gets too hot or too late. The traffic was horrible today.
