Becky, I'm sending my prayers and love your way. I'm so sorry for your loss.

You are being so strong and wise to remember that you have to take care of yourself. I hope you find all the support you need here in this group and in person in your life. Bless you and your family.

Becky so sorry for your loss OD is so rampant now a days hard to get away from it. emoticon . Yes you do need to take care of yourself. My husband had a drug problem which lead to his death in 2015 he didn't realize he was physically ill and needed medical attention.

Have you joined a group near where you live for emotional support? It could help with the depression.

emoticon to SP I see we are on a couple of the same teams.

Welcome back even under the sad circumstances...
My deepest sympathy on the loss of your son - you are kind of living my nightmare bcz my 20-yr old is giving me much cause for fear, anxiety, & depression with his erratic behavior & substance abuse. I hope we both survive this rough phase - I actually just ordered him some books about healing from the abuse his father inflicted upon him; I hope he will read them & seek some outside therapy.

Welcome back. You have come to a good place for support and friendship.

I am sorry that you lost your son to OD. I have friends who have lost various children to OD as well, and they DON'T get over it. Try to remember the good times with him, and focus on them. Just because someone has died doesn't mean that you can't still love them. My late husband died 6 years ago - I still love him, warts and all, and yes, there WERE a lot of warts (in the figurative sense.)

I had already reached my goal and was maintaining before he died. It could have been very easy for me to slip back, but that wouldn't have done him OR I any good. Instead I continued on my healthy lifestyle journey. He would be proud of that.

Please keep in touch - you will find loads of support and friendship. I note that you are on another team I am on, which is also very active (50 Plus For ALL)

Take care,
Kris xxx
