What's your strategy for weight loss?

I have a fitbit to keep me honest about my steps. And I garden to keep me busy and my head out of the refrigerator.

I also use doTERRA slim and sassy. I have removed as many chemicals from my household that I can. Cleaning supplies, personal care lotions and potions, I buy organic/clean food when I can afford it or find it.

And I gave up POP. No more diet Mt Dew with the one exception with you read my blog, you know what I'm talking about.

Less calories in than calories out. I use Lose It app to figure out how many calories I need to net and document stuff. (Upgraded tot he Samsung S5 which has an app built in.) I use the basics of volumetrics to stay full.

It takes a lot of patience and measuring at first, but it works for me and there is nothing off limits!

eat only when I am hungry and savor every bite

I have just started this week. and with drinking 64oz of water daily I have lost 2 lbs of water weight already! also eating within my calorie ranges and fat ranges. my main problem is controlling my carbs.. but I have done great so far!!!

For me right now I'm struggling with a winter slump - I'm trying to focus on getting more active again along with adding in a lot more veggies in soups, salads, etc. Any health based activity or decision I'm giving myself kudos for, Once that comes more naturally again I'll get more and more particular about workouts and eating. Starting again slow...

I am curious to know what everyone is doing for their weight loss programs? Are you focused on regular exercise, cutting back on portions, cleaning up your diet, etc...? This winter has been hard on us here in Rockford, and for those of us that enjoy outdoor exercise, the snow and ice puts a damper on our best laid plans. I am trying to get myself back into running regularly after having my son, who is now almost a year old! Finding time around his needs has been a real challenge for me over the past year. I need to not feel guilty for wanting to take the time to care for myself.

Aside from trying to get into a regular exercise routine again, I am focused on CLEAN eating and LOW-CARB, with a 50/50 split between them. I am good about keeping my diet pretty clean. Now I am trying to work on portion control and removing sugar from my diet. My sweet tooth has always been insatiable. Sugar is my drug, and I know how bad it is to consume too much sugar, so I have to learn to control it.
