Christmas Eve we go to my Grandma's house and my kids make a gingerbread house with her, it's a lot of fun to watch them enjoy it! Then we go back to my parents house open one gift which is always Christmas jammies and then we read Twas The Night Before Christmas.

When my mother was alive she would do her Annual Cookie Exchange where everyone brought a dozen cookies and trade for others. I have kept this going by every year on her birthday Dec,11 I have an Annual Cookie exchange and have a mini Christmas concert with my daughter and her friends performing and than have a visit from Santa. It makes me smile to know that everyone every year loves it and I know my mom is looking down and smiling.

My grandma use to shape butter into a beautiful pine cone. She showed me how, but I am nowhere near as skilled as she was.

I used to make a 'tea-ring' for Christmas morning breakfast with my Grandma every year...I began by watching how she made it to finally making it all when her health began to fail...all the love that went into making that special treat continues to stay with me year in and year out

Baking a Birthday Cake for Jesus! You can do a Internet search for the way to do it. There are lots of different ideas and symbolism you can make it easy or more symbolic, whatever fits your family.

Every Christmas Eve we have a smorgusborg with smoked fish fresh fruits and vegetables, herring, cheese and crackers. We talk and munch through the evening and open presents. This year it will be in the 17th because my daughter has to be in Salem on Christmas Eve. I will probably be taking a business trip to Spokane/Post Falls this week so it will be interesting doing the shopping at the last minute. We are having it at my daughter's place because my apartment is full of boxes.
