Pretty similar here too emoticon

Smile .... it makes people wonder what you're up to ;-)

It is far easier to MAKE time to exercise than it is to FIND time to exercise. You want results???? MAKE it happen.

Keep trying - you CAN do it - believe in yourself!

Drinking water is my first key. If I don't drink my water, I know that not tracking my food isn't far behind.

The second key for me is weighing daily. While losing weight, it is what taught me what worked and what didn't. When I saw the number going up, it also helped me to make adjustments immediately and not after a week or a month of bad choices. I know this doesn't work for everyone...you have to be able to cut the emotional ties to the number on the scale if it is to work well.

My third key has to do with exercise. My motto is "fake it 'til I make it". There are so many times when I don't want to exercise, but I make myself do it for at least 10-15 minutes. Most of the time, I end up going 20-30 minutes once I get going.

The final key for me has been calorie cycling. I explain this more on my SparkPage.

Definitely use the food tracker and exercise daily. I also blog (you can visit my page) and find that all the positive feedback that I have received from my sparkfriends has increased my drive to be thinner and healthier! Good luck! emoticon

1. LOG!
2. Drink your 8 glasses of water
3. Exercise! Like some pp said, find something you LOVE. I absolutely LOVE Zumba, and class is so fun it feels more like a social outing than work (even though I sweat buckets. lol. I know, TMI)
4. When you are in a funk, BLOG about it. It has helped me get through so, so much.
5. Understand that you are trying to correct possibly a LIFETIME of bad (or not-so-great) habits. This doesn't happen overnight, and your body will likely fight you on many steps of your journey. There's no shame in having a setback (or 12!), the important thing is to never give up faith in yourself. Every healthy day is improving your overall quality of life.

Welcome, and good luck on your new journey!

Use the trackers! The nutrition tracker is one of the BEST tools toward reaching your goals because what you eat is so important to your success!

Get active, even if it's just for 10 minutes a day.

Drink plenty of water! It really does help!

Join teams and participate in them! (Join challenges if they will motivate you too.) People here are awesome and they really want you to succeed. You'll have a support system like no other if you get involved!

Don't be afraid of failure. Just pick yourself up and make changes for the next time. One bad day of eating doesn't mean you're a terrible person.

The scale is the worst way to determine your success. Learn to rely more on measurements, personal goals and challenges, and how you feel.

This is for LIFE. Find something you enjoy and don't be afraid to try new things.

"It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop." - Confucius

Check out my video blog! It's about my journal, which has a ton of tips!

If you bite it, write it... The motivation/inspiration board. Setting goals... Drinking water, water, water.... And exercising at least 20 mins a day.

Good luck!

Two things have been key to my weight loss:

1. having a fitness activity that I love and do a minimum of 5 days a week.

2. eating enough protein - I aim for 20 grams per meal. If I don't make a concentrated effort and get in my protein I start to binge on starchy carbohydrates. I also make sure I eat enough fruits and vegetables.

Good luck in your weight loss!!
