As previously mentioned, the very reason I do WATP when a video is needed!!!

i know how you feel! i went through the same thing when i first started. I thought wow, i can't even make it through a 10 min workout without huffing and puffing and wanting to quit. But i just kept pushing myself to keep going and now can do at least 30 mins of cardio and still be breathing at a normal weight. I dont have a scale right now so i can never mark my progress by numbers. But it feels great to mark my progress by breathing levels after working out!! I can feel myself getting stronger and wanting more now! So keep working on those 10 min videos, if you can't do the moves, I find that breaking it down into a quick dance session while they do the harder moves also works to keep the heart beat up and it just feels good to break it down in the living room sometimes! I actually ended up going to the ER and being on crutches for a week because of a Richard Simmons video. Disco Sweat is pretty hard

I love shrinkinglulu's advice - just keep moving! I am notoriously uncoordinated and when I did a Zumba class at the Y with my sister and niece this past summer, the instructor actually laughed at me! All in good fun but... yeah. And in time I started to get it. You will too. emoticon

Good job for working out! I can't keep up with the moves on most workout videos either. So I try to pick things that don't have too many combos and where the moves are more simple. I've done a walk away the pounds video and I liked it too. Pretty soon though you will think its too easy and you'll be surprised how easy it is to keep up.

I've used a few of those when I can't bare to go to the gym. They seem to be at a level all participants can follow.

I've been going to the same cardio classes for well over a year on and off, and I STILL don't get a good portion of the moves right. I just keep moving anyway, try, and make sure to keep my heart rate up!!

As my instructor always says "it's YOUR class, you only get out of it what you put in, I don't care what you guys are doing so long as you're moving!"

I think that's the perfect attitude! And some people in my classes definitely just take her moves as suggestions and make up their own - some are awesome dancers or kick boxers or whatever and some are just free spirits! It makes the class about 1000x more fun that people feel free and just use her for inspiration rather than a rule. So now when I do workout videos I keep that in mind, also that I had to go to all the classes 5 or 6 times before I even had half the moves down!

I just did a walk away the pounds video, that went so much better. I think I will stick to those for now.

Congrats on getting out of your comfort zone and trying something new!! emoticon

Please remember that the idea behind cardio is raising your heart rate, working up a serious sweat, and burning calories. Sounds like you get a check, check, and check for all three of those! Doing all the moves perfectly the first time is not expected for anyone, cut yourself some slack DONE Girl! You did great, and will do better next time!

You're totally not alone there. I picked up a hip hop cardio dance DVD not too long ago. I love to dance, but I have two left feet and absolutely no skill. After I tripped over my own heel (yes, true story), I finally decided it wasn't for me. That's OK. There are plenty of other things out there. :D Chin up!

Hey 10 minutes is 10 minutes!! Videos are difficult - especially the first time thru. Maybe just watch it once or twice to get the idea of the routines.

So I have Netflix and I thought I would look up some work out videos. Well I did a ten minute car blaster one and I was horrible. To start with I have zero rhythm and I couldn't keep up. I can hardly catch my breath now and I feel like a total failure. I think next time I will try to find something easier. But hey I get ten minutes of some serious workout.
