I think dating is anything where both of you know that you're getting together (as more than friends) to get to know each other. The key is that both of you know that it's a date.

Otherwise, it's just crushing on your friend, right?

I once went to a concert with a guy.. He picked up the tickets, I drove, and we were going as friends, as far as *I* knew. I found out years later that he told people we had dated. I think that's just creepy and strange, considering that I always felt that we were ALWAYS in the friend zone, and even when he had (before) approached me about getting together I made it clear that I wasn't interested. I guess it's easy to get signals crossed.

So...
Best of luck!

I know how stupid this is going to sound, but I have no clue on this one. My thought would be that if you show up together and or leave together, then even though you are in a group it would still be dating. Could be tough though because if the other person has no clue that that is what you have in mind, then they may be a little surprised to find out that is how you feel.

I think they are all dating. Just because you are not exclusive, doesn't mean it's not dating. Sometimes, you need to date multiple people to find the one that you may want to be exclusive with in the future.

B and C would be my guesses. Depending on how focused you are on finding "the one" or how focused you are on just getting out there and having FUN!

I would say all of them classify as dating. B and C is considered exclusive dating, you're not dating anyone else, but it should be agreed on, you might get mad if you're being exclusive but the person you're dating isn't.

Of course, I don't know much about this topic. I'm almost at the 6 year mark with the only person I've ever dated, we only went on a handful of dates before moving in together, and our first date was 2 weeks long!

What do you consider dating to be?

(a) Going out with a lot of people at the same time on dates (may or may not include "intimacy")

(b) Going out with one person only on dates but just having fun with it, if a "future" develops between you, it is strictly by surprise and was never a focus/intention (may or may not include "intimacy")

(c) Going out with one person only on dates and having an idea that IF things go well and feel right, that you are both open to the idea of a future together (may or may not include "intimacy")

(d) other (please give details)

Thanks guys!! :)
