Hmm.
It was actually a comment from my own sister. A few years ago when I was starting in the weightloss game, I had made a comment about things I'd do post-weightloss. So it started with a proud and enthusiastic, "When I lose the weight..!"
My sister immediately "corrected" me by saying, "IF you lose the weight..."
It struck me down pretty hard, and honestly I don't think I've ever told her about it. I know If I did she'd apologize profusely and feel terrible, and honestly I'm okay with it now, especially since I've lost 80 pounds!
But at the time, I was devastated. To think, my own sister didn't believe in me in that moment? It was surprising and defeating.
I'm sorry for everyone's who had mean things said to them! It happens to all of us, but the reality is that words DO hurt. They kick start an avalanche of negative thoughts that lead to negative emotions. And those emotions literally stay within the body forever until they're dealt with.
I hope everyone who posts here realizes they are indeed a worthy person who deserves love.
