I ADORE Mr Rogers. I can't wait for the movie about him with Tom Hanks!!

Recently someone at work asked me if I've lost weight and said I look like I have. It made my day!

Mr. Rogers said when he was a child he'd get upset over scary things he saw in the news (he was born in 1928) and his mother always told him "Look for the people who are the helpers." He decided when he was a Presbyterian Minister to do children's television because he thought TV was only concerned with profits and not what they did to help children. Thus his program on PBS "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood" became a world-wide classic.

He was a HELPER.

Went out to eat with my elderly mother yesterday. There was a long wait, so we went to sit on the patio until our table was ready. We had to sit at a picnic table as all the normal tables were taken. She had trouble getting her leg swung over the picnic table seat, and a man offered her his seat. She had gotten sat down so she said she was ok but thank you. Awhile later, I saw him offer another elderly person his seat. :)
