Our St. Louis-Stuttgart walk is on Black Friday, part of the national club's #OptOutside Day (opt to walk instead of shop). We're meeting at Schnucks, 2030 Dorsett Road, at 9:45 to register on Friday, November 29. We'll leave for the walk at 10 because we'll have to drive to Creve Coeur Park, just a couple miles down the road. This will be a 5K (3.1 miles), and people can vote which lake they want to walk. (Both lakes together = 10K.) All levels of walking speed are welcome. Creve Coeur Park is level. Everyone is welcome, children, too. Dogs, too, but they can't go in Schnucks.

The next day, Saturday, November 30, the Gateway Milers club is walking the Central West End. We meet at the Visitors Center in Forest Park at 9:45 and at 10 begin our walk to the CWE. We walk around a bit there before returning. We usually stop and eat there--lots of restaurants! We always have a 5K option if people don't want to do a 10K. We have a group walking 5K and a group walking 10K.

No need to make any reservations. In severe weather, we cancel. Dogs are welcome in the CWE, too, but not in buildings. We charge $3/walk. More than half of this amount goes to our walking club headquarters in Texas.

Any questions? Just ask!

Look at www.saintlouiswalkers.com for information on all our local walks. We have three clubs in the metropolitan area. We love to see new people so please come if you can. I gotta say that walking with us is a lot more fun than walking a treadmill!

Sadly, I attended a visitation for a friend from high school late this afternoon. His widow was also a friend from high school and she was so glad to see me and I felt the same, though the occasion was unhappy. We'll be doing lunch sometime.

On a happier level, I went from there to the Maryland Heights community center for their "Sip and Shop," free wine to look at items people had made themselves or were in unique businesses. Yes, I sipped and shopped!

Tomorrow is our walk downtown. Meet us at 9:45 at the Pear Tree Inn by Drury on Market if you want to come along for a unique tour of downtown, one that DH and I planned out. It includes going through the tunnel to the Lumiere and exiting on Laclede's Landing.

After that, lunch with the other walkers and then home to work on the French drain some more.

Sunday is church. We take two people home, and then I participate in a session of psychological research at Washington University, as a follow-up to an MRI I had last summer. If anyone wants to help their research, call the Psychology Department there. They are always looking for more people.
