Here's a little motivational video I like to watch every once in a while if I need a little boost. I know practicing riding a bike isn't quite the same as getting a graduate degree or publishing a paper or any of the other things we do, but I bet this little guy feels like he just conquered the world. In any case, this video usually helps increase my sense of self-efficacy, or at the very least, makes me smile. Hopefully you'll all enjoy it too. Thumbs up everybody, for rock and roll!

End of semester is always miserable. Last semester I backed myself into a corner and ended up having to pull two consecutive all-nighters, so I keep telling myself this exam season can't possibly be that stupid :D Best of luck everyone!

Here too! I'm in the final weeks of dissertation revision before I submit my PhD for defence/viva in June. Add to that student papers and exams to mark and feeling physically shattered and what you've got is me on the sofa catching up on episodes of Homeland rather than dealingl with my lit review chapter (which needs some revisions) or doing any kind of marking. Blech.

I'm hoping to get out in the sunshine today while it lasts and go for a run. That usually helps with the energy levels. I've also been letting myself sleep a bit more in hopes of making up for some of the late nights I've had in the past couple of weeks.

Good luck to everyone dealing with end of term stuff -- T. S. Eliot was right, April really is the cruelest month.

very much--i'm usually much farther along in my papers than i am right now and its freaking me out a little. then again, i've cut down some of my work here and there and it might not be so bad. the problem was i was gonna dedicate today to working on it and i've got allergies from hades wreaking havoc with my thought process and my energy. that'll have to be fresh tomorrow.

I'm pretty stressed. In a couple weeks I have my quals oral defense and my dissertation proposal. I'm also being videotaped teaching next Monday for part of the graduate instructor training program. I think the stress is starting to make me sick. :(

End of semester is never pleasant. I'm always a basket case at the end of it. Though this semester I feel spent from taking the comps in March so I don't know if I'll be able to muster up much energy to care in the end, or maybe it just seems light in comparison to what the comps put me through.

Papers, exams, presentations, comps, thesis, UGH. Anyone else stressing out right now? Sometimes grad school can really take its toll...
